I burn through five therapists and I decided I was gonna give one more try and that's when I met Melissa Featherstone and I got to tell you it's been the best decision ever she has brought me through so many milestones and so many breakthrough that I don't think I would've ever accomplished my own and for that I will be forever grateful thanks for being the best therapist for me and keeping me moving forward .

Let me start by saying that therapists are great and wonderful people. They help a lot of people…read moredeal with life that is difficult and hard to deal with. Melissa however is not a good choice because she does not take all matters into consideration when helping individuals or families through a crisis. I hardly ever give negative reviews but I find it necessary to post because I don't want other individuals and families to go through what we have in the last few months. Therapists should think of all sides of issues and be considerate of young adults that are more vulnerable than others. We would have been better off picking a therapist that had more skills sets.

The old man Ronald Yarbrough needs to just retire already. It took me a few days to decide how I…read morewanted to approach this, but I've decided to leave my 1st Google review in the history of my 35yr existence on this earth. Mr. Yarbrough is ancient. I'm talking late 70s. And while this did not discourage me at first during our 1st session, his actions throughout & after the session did. He definitely felt it necessary to spend at least 10 mins of our session boasting about his successes in the industry since the 70s, & interjecting experiences he's had with other clients & books he's written etc. not a huge deal I suppose, but it felt very cold, selfish, & egotistical, especially after he did this throughout the course of our session after I shared intimate details of my traumas. First thing he decides to discuss without asking me any other questions was to have a 10min convo about how I feel about the current CEO of the company I work for, as if that has anything to do with why I'm actually there. He had to write EVERYTHING down, to the point I had to pause my stories for him to write pieces of information down. However, it's like he'd get lost in the information I'd give him & wouldn't even let me get through more than the most basic of details about the childhood trauma. When discussing adulthood decisions in past relationships, instead of just asking me to explain further, he gaslit me and asked stuff like "well why would you do that if you knew they weren't a good person?". He also forgot information I had given him & had to ask me twice so he could actually write it down. When I tell you we got thru literally 10% of my childhood & maybe 10% of my adulthood in the hour I was there, I'm not kidding. By the end, he threw out a random diagnosis I 100% knew for certain I did not have & took me by complete surprise. When I informed him of what I thought I had, some of which other therapists/psychiatrists have diagnosed me with, he laughed in my face and said "we'll see". After I left, he called my phone to ask me if I had a primary care provider. When I informed him I did not, he proceeded to say "well I thought you were smarter than that. You should know better than to not have one." Without asking me any of my prior medical history or reasons why, as if it even matters. A psychologist should not be guilt-tripping & gas-lighting their current patients. Do NOT spend your hard earned money here. I know this is discouraging to hear because the access to good mental health resources in this area is so scarce, but one should not be subjected to gaslighting or toxic outdated practices. I would rather go to Lakeview.

Absolute hack. I took my two children to him because they were having problems during a divorce…read morewith their mother. Not withstanding the father (me) was trying to help the children deal with the situation, he concluded that the father was alienating the children from the mother; when the mother was abusing male steroids and was in a constant rage. Since the divorce became final, despite a 50-50 timesharing custody, the former wife has successfully alienated our 14-year-old daughter, and the father has not spent one day with his daughter over the last two years. That shows how accurate his analysis was. Several years ago my former wife and I went to him for for family counseling, which resulted in no ideas on how to reconciliation or issues anymore than a neighbor would be able to provide us. Don't waste your time with this guy.
