Unfortunately, our experience with Catherine was less than satisfactory…read more My husband suffered a major medical emergency during travel that landed us in the hospital out of town for two weeks. Our therapy appointment was scheduled during that time. I attempted to reach Catherine the night before our scheduled appointment via voicemail and email to inform her of our situation and that my my husband was currently hospitalized. I only remembered the appt due to a reminder alert! Other things on my mind at the time. The day of our appointment she proceeded to send me a text asking if we were coming I explained to her our current situation and that we would not be able to make our appointment. She immediately responded reminding me of her cancellation policy. Minutes after this communication she processed a full charge for our appointment. When I contacted her asking the charge, she explained it was her cancellation policy to receive all notice within 24 hours. Again, I proceeded to tell her we had been in the Emergency Room and now ICU and apologized I had not thought of it sooner. I offered to send her hospital admittance documents and out discharge papers upon release. She responded, "I hope honoring the policy does not create a barrier to your continuing to see me. I just wouldn't feel right making an exception for some and not others so I created a policy that is as fair as I could create and provide a system for clients to setup reminders that best fit their needs. No documentation needed. I just feel terrible making exceptions for some and not others." She continued to explain to me the fairness of the policy. Unfortunately, no exception for life threatening medical emergencies. I want others to be aware of her practices. I would never want someone to be in this situation and I thought it important to notate how she conducts her practice.

I nearly always feel understood and heard. No real complaints... Until the past year or so, when their billing department became hell. They now call before and after appointments demanding payment within minutes of telehealth services. If I had a history of running up hundreds of dollars in bills, I'd understand, but they do this when I only owe $30! I know this isn't my therapist's choice as in the past she has waved last minute cancelation fees for me. If it continues to get worse I might have to consider seeing new practicioners elsewhere. They are going to lose business because of this and while the practitioners don't deserve that, the people running the business do.
