Can't be pulling a 7 month pregnant lady around! We did the 2 week on-leash program...drop off in the morning pick up in the afternoon. They give you a decent window of time in the AM and PM to drop off and pick up your pup so it's convenient for everyone. He was a little nervous on his first day but quickly warmed up to his trainer, Dakota. At the end of each week, you go in and are given a lesson going over what your dog has learned. Sit, lay, heel and place are just a few of the commands he learned. Our walks are MUCH calmer and we work on what he learned often. The staff is awesome, the place is clean and all in all I think it was worth the time and $ spent. They also have other programs depending what you're looking for.

Sadly, our dog Remy(white shepherd mix pictured with Rich and my wife) died last year from a sudden heart attack. Rich was so understanding and helpful in helping us find a Service Dog candidate that would meet my needs Better; we rescued a Newfoundland mix. I'm posting pictures from video as she's being trained to assist going up & down stairs. It's my opinion that even if you just try basic obedience, a trained owner and dog adds to the wonderful experience of canine ownership! We feel blessed having found Double H and Rich Hardin.

After the very first visit, I was astonished and how well my 6-month-old Golden Retriever responded. I went from being frustrated and, honestly, disappointed in myself, to one of hope and excitement for our future. It is some of the best money I've spent. It was an investment that has give me a return of more than I could have ever dreamed of. I know that I have Doug's support throughout Zahra's lifetime and that, to me, is priceless. In my opinion, you will find none better than Doug with Bark Busters. Zahra and I are forever grateful we found him through the recommendation of my nephew, who used Doug for help with his Giant Schnauzer. You will not be disappointed, I can promise you that!

WORTH EVERY PENNY AND ASTONISHINGLY FAST!…read more Doug Rountree with Bark Busters of Louisville is fantastic! In the first hour, he completely changed the way we interact with our dog. Before we began the training, our puppy was lovable but demanding and thought she was in charge of our whole family. Practically 90% of her behavior problems (like mouthing/biting, barking, jumping on people, pulling) are virtually gone in less than a day! The rest are already much improved and I'm sure those will continue to get better as we reinforce our expectations with her. Our home is a much more peaceful, enjoyable place and our pup definitely seems happier and less stressed now that we have set clear, consistent rules in a language that she can understand. I love that it's done without treats or physical correction but instead uses how dogs naturally communicate to change behavior. Thank you Doug!

I felt like no one could see how amazing my dog was because how reactive she was. I met Jennifer at Puppy Palooza and soon after I scheduled a free consultation. Jennifer suggest their 3 week e collar program for Clarke. And after the first week there I was blown away. I can now take clarke with me anywhere I go, we even go on hikes where she only wears her ecollar because her recall is perfect. Jennifer and her team change our lives and They taught Clarke & I life saving obedience skills and how to work with Clarke anxiety. Everyone who meets clarke is blown away now and I can say she is so much happier now too. They are currently now training our second dog :)

He is not in any way aggressive and exhibits nothing but nuisance behaviors because he's had no training, and he's a puppy. That said, he's a big boy, he's a handful, and they were starting from scratch. I wound up removing our dog from the program early after witnessing a disturbing interaction between the owner (Jennifer) and our dog. When I came to pick our dog one afternoon, the owner told me that we were going to have to delay that week's "parent" training (where they teach us how to work on that week's training at home) because our dog was struggling and "still not getting it." She then had a trainer go retrieve our dog. When the trainer brought him out and he saw me, he got incredibly hyper, like he does every time he sees one of us when we've been gone. This is not unusual for him, and this was definitely one of the behaviors that we'd hoped would become better as a result of this training. He wasn't in any way aggressive, but he was also not sitting calmly, waiting for the trainer to release him to me... He was excited and trying to get to me, pulling on his lead and not listening to the trainer. I can't say what state the owner was in... I can't say she was frustrated with his lack of progress... I can't say she was upset... I'm not her, so I can't say what she was thinking... but when she observed this excited behavior from our dog, she took the lead from the trainer and proceeded to "correct" him very, very roughly. I hesitate to say violently, but it was close. He was screaming, and yelping louder than I could imagine and I actually became scared that he might turn and attack her out of fear/anger for what she was doing to him. At one point, she was yanking so hard and so far up (utilizing a prong collar) that she lifted his front paws/legs off the ground (she's a very tall lady, probably 6' in height). This incident, in my opinion, went way past correction. It was disturbing for me to witness. In our email correspondence the next morning she stated that she was not hurting him, but she absolutely was. I would summarize our experience like this... If during our free consultation I'd seen a dog treated the way she treated my dog I would never have taken him there again. We paid $2,150 for the three-week course. What I witnessed was troubling enough that we were willing to flush that money away before we'd leave him there again. If she did that in front of me, what happens when I'm not there..? I have no evidence of mistreatment and am making any accusations aside from what I observed... but that's the thought we couldn't shake and the reason we left the program. To her credit, the owner refunded the equivalent of four days training fees when she didn't have to do so. We had more than four days remaining in the program, but the terms in the contract stated that the fees are non-refundable, so she didn't have to refund any monies. Given the situation, it was the right thing to do. We know friends whose dogs have had great results in the program. We're just not willing to subject our dog to that treatment to get there. Would not recommend.
