Michelle quite literally changed my wife and I's lives…read more My wife is very intelligent with a business/accounting background and for the last few years has taken on the task of handling our taxes while I was in graduate school, which has been relatively straightforward because I was not working full-time. Within the 2025 fiscal year, we purchased our first home, I worked multiple full-time roles, and she was given stock in her company, so things were far more complicated. However, my wife still gave it a shot going through the tax preparation process. By the end of it, we were going to owe $11,000. We were absolutely devastated, and immediately started thinking about how on earth we were going to be able to afford our mortgage on top of such an insane tax burden. We decided to reach out to Americas Tax Service after seeing their wonderful reviews in hopes that we could somehow lessen our burden, even if by a couple thousand. We booked an appointment with Michelle, worriedly walked in with our paperwork, and after no more than 45 minutes she informed us we would not only owe $0, but we would in fact be receiving a refund of over $2,000. I cannot express the joy and relief this news brought to my wife and I. Michelle is very efficient, laid back, and overall just an incredibly knowledgeable, warm professional. I could not fathom going anywhere else for tax services. Seriously, book your appointment. It could mean the difference between owing $10k+ and getting a check for a few grand in the mail.

Have you ever been ghosted by a tax professional? Sadly I have, and the possibility is strong that…read moreyou will too if you choose to do business with Steve and Emperor Tax Service. Steve has done my taxes since 2009 and I started having him do my parents as well a couple years back. I used to work with Steve (taxes are his side gig) and he was much more responsive, but now that I am just your every day customer it seems as though I am not worthy of a response. Last year, Steve stopped providing physical copies of our tax records on the spot (which previously was a very nice touch). Instead, he provided a thumb drive. We told him then and there that we had a Mac and it wouldn't work. He said we just needed to format it and should there be any issues, we could contact him. When it came time to apply for my student loans it didn't work, so I contacted him asking for a copy. That was last May, and he still hasn't responded and I don't have a copy of my return. Similarly, my mother got an estate tax document and needed her taxes amended. He wouldn't respond to anything. Finally, I contacted an old coworker who asked him to contact my mom. He called me instead, from his work, and left a message. I called and texted him asking him to call my mom, not me. After about a month, he got in contact with my mom. He took her original estate tax document and told her he filed an amended return before the July extension. However, he has continued to withhold her original documents and has never provided her a copy of the amended return he states he filed. I have been calling, texting, and emailing Steve since May of 2020 asking for a print out of my taxes and the return of my mother's documents as well as a copy of her amended return. He hasn't responded or provided anything as requested. Needless to say, we will not be continuing our business with Emperor Tax Service. We just want our documents so that we can have someone else do them for us this year. Also, if you still choose to do business with Steve but find yourself where I am--I've done the homework and you can file form 14157 with the IRS to make a Return Preparer Complaint.

The lady at the front was polite enough, i had an appointment but was told to come back later because they were so busy, no worries. I came back an hour after my scheduled appointment and was told they were *almost* ready for me...okay. When it was finally my time to go with the gentleman who prepared my taxes, Kenneth. I sat silent for about 15 minutes while he typed wordlessly. He asked me maybe 3 questions about my tax situation? Now mind you, I have ALOT of deductions and was joint filing for my wife and I (which is why I was there in the first place) but he didn't really seem to need to know about any of that. I provided all the basic info they required, and he basically just typed it on the screen and showed me what I owed, exactly like I could've done on TurboTax and not wasted $450 on this place (the breakdown he showed me ended up being incorrect according to the IRS but I'll get to that later). I was expecting a Tax Expert to try to understand my tax year and help me get the most, that was NOT what I got. I feel like i wasted my money by going here AND got worse Tax advice and paid more to the IRS because I went to HRblock. I was not planning on writing this review until I got a letter from the IRS in the mail saying I OWE MORE MONEY! He didn't even give me a correct evaluation of how much we owed...The vibe of this place was also distressing like they were taking advantage of people who have little money and no idea how taxation works and will trust the "advice" that is given to them. AVOID this place at all costs.

Got on the phone with Will and he was able to reassure me and answer all the questions that I had before we got to work. Will is super knowledgeable when it comes to filling taxes with cryptocurrencies and investments which is something that 99% of any other CPAs struggle with. Due to my limited availability, we ended up opting to just have will file my taxes online via email. After sending him all the paperwork necessary, Will said he'd work out my taxes the day after. Rest assured the next day came by, and before filling, Will sent me a couple of forms that needed to be signed, and my taxes were done! Will is hands-down the best and most honest and ethical CPA I've ever worked with, he always goes above and beyond to answer any questions as well as give any recommendations of any blind spots you might have. I was so lucky to have him work on my Taxes and will definitely work with him on any future fillings. If you need a CPA who's super knowledgeable on Tax codes, investments such as stocks and cryptocurrencies, as well as getting started on a small business or even recommendation on your current business, I cannot recommend Will enough. Will is always getting informed in new laws as Taxes change which is super important nowadays.
