He then failed to accept any responsibility for failing to do the job we paid him to do and failed to assist us in fixing his mistake. Instead, he screamed at me, threatened to hang up on me, and said he is closing his business and leaving California (probably in an effort to not get sued). If he is retiring, what a sad, disgraceful legacy to leave behind. He took our payment and failed to complete the job. I had been using Turbo Tax previously. Every year tax season was just a nightmare. I honestly dreaded it. It was made worse by the fact that Turbo Tax just didn't work correctly. I would try to enter the data from the forms, and it would give me errors saying that the forms cannot be correct. Their customer support was useless. They wound up telling me that I should just make up data to get their form to accept it. As I said, useless. I met Keith, bringing my tax forms with me. He made it incredibly easy. We were done in an hour. And in terms of pricing, he is very competitive with Turbo Tax. I would much rather pay a bit more and get days worth of time and stress back. I will be using Keith every year from now on. I can see why he's rated so highly! read more

Keith has two monitors on his desk, one for him to use (obvi) and the second monitor facing the client so you can follow along. #transparency His partner and wife, Edie, was very organized with scheduling, reminders, and confirmations. In years past I have had my taxes done by various tax preparation offices in Vallejo. In every case, no matter who the tax preparer was, my original hardcopy State and Federal returns would be automatically separated and stapled as a courtesy for me to mail or file. Unfortunately, for tax year 2018 I chose Keith Papish's firm on 3-21-2019 to prepare my taxes; WOW, BIG MISTAKE! This was a decision I will forever regret. Even though upon entering his office I found it to be literally (in my opinion) a terribly messy, almost "HORDERS-LIKE" disorganized pigsty, with papers all over the floor, tables, cabinets, etc.., I was willing to overlook the disgusting paper "mess" in the sincere hopes he did good work. I chose Keith after reading the recent YELP feedbacks about him, believing the responses accurately reflected his business. Boy, I was wrong.. In my opinion, even though Keith appeared friendly yesterday (3-21-19), today (3-22-19) when I called to simply ask a question or two about the documents that I received back from his office, I was instantly met with a barrage of insults and smart-ass remarks, then I was rudely and COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONALLY hung up on to my shock and disbelief. Just for asking a couple of questions and "bothering" him, Mr. Papish screamed that (and this is where it gets very strange) "he has the right to fire his customers and I AM FIRED(?)". I could not understand why he said such a ridiculous statement and yell and attack me as he did. Very odd... My question simply involved the mailing of the hardcopies to the IRS. I attempted to mention to Keith that in every situation in the past (when I was the customer) the originals for the State and the Federal would be separated as a convenience and a courtesy for me. In this case it was not done, I guess because Keith did not want to bother with it. Since tax preparation is not my field I did not know if there was something else I should do and I assumed that Keith could tell me what should be done, if anything. However, as a NEW customer, no matter what my reason was for calling to ask a question, to be met with such blatant childish screaming & sarcasm from a grown man was really a shocker!! I then called back and fortunately spoke with Mrs. Eve Papish who was very nice to me & took the time to actually have an adult conversation with me and answer my questions. She was absolutely great! I thanked her for her time and complemented her. A few minutes later I received a call again from Keith who called me & told me that he was "being pulled in 10 different directions at once". He then apologized for his really rude behavior to me. However, when I tried again to simply have a conversation with him, he began to IMMEDIATELY raise his voice & scream at me and tell me that I, as his new client, was again "FIRED", and that he has a RIGHT to choose his customers AND that "EVERYBODY LOVES HIM".. WHAT WAS HE TALKING ABOUT?? Why he said this to me made absolutely NO LOGICAL SENSE since all I was trying to do again was just talk to him as 2 adults. Unfortunately, before I could talk to him, he again slammed the phone down on me. At this point in my opinion, I honestly cannot imagine why Keith was so horribly abrasive, arrogant and HIGHLY UNPROFESSIONAL with me. I was never insulting with him for I had NO REASON to be insulting; if anything, I was impressed with him initially and just wanted to ask a few questions over the phone, that's all. In my humble personal opinion ( & I am not a Psychologist) Mr. Papish's strange unremarkable behavior he exhibited with me due to the stresses in his life has resulted in him being unbelievably erratic, dangerously volatile and highly unprofessional, and I would seriously honestly caution anyone who is seeking to have their taxes done to be advised about Keith, his behavior, his highly disorganized and messy office and to be prepared for "anything" no matter how "unusual". His office is distinguishable by the big strange plastic "COW" that stands on top of the building from when it was a milk store (why is it still there?). I moved to Vallejo several years ago and needed to find a local accountant. My tax situation is more complicated than most as I operate in multiple countries so I was wondering if I'd find the right person.
