There's lot of little routes to the top; some a little more adventurous than others; depending on your courage and activity level. The jutting rocks form a rabbit at the top. Some others have decided to decorate the rocks with other art too. There were lots of kids venturing around the formation peeking in to the cracks and hearing their voices echo in the caverns. There's lot of trees lining the rock trails to help you maneuver around. The weather was great for a hike to the top. Watch for leaves and pine needles, as these make the trails a little slick. This would be a great lookout place for sunsets and a picnic. There are tables at the parking lot area. I didn't see any bathrooms though. I don't think you need a park pass to use this park either. This was a perfect way to spend an hour! But the wayside is NOT open year round it's closed during the winter months. From the top of the rock you can see for mile including view of Roche-A-Cri Mound in the state park. It's about 60 feet high to the top.

I am also from California, and a bigger city than them (Los Angeles, while they are from Sacramento which has a population of barely 500k while LA has almost 4 million, so it's pretty hilarious to see a small town guy talking like some big city bigshot), and I can tell you aside maybe two in all of California, the malls were dead - like completely dead - since around 2010. Big, small, doesn't matter, not only WERE they dead, they are STILL dead, the pandemic didn't even cause it, the insane levels of crime surrounding shopping centers and malls, along with the unbelievable prices of things in the state, did. Oakwood mall, however, is a really great place to go. It feels like the 90s again, every storefront IS a store instead of boarded up/fenced off empty nothing making you feel like the place will die off in a few months, there's always people shopping and hanging out, I often see people playing the arcade games in the middle of the walkways or just spending time there to spend time there. Mall culture was something I thought long dead but it's alive and well in Eau Claire somehow and every time I go it makes me nostalgic and happy to see. I've stopped in at basically every store as well (including the ones aimed at women due to my girlfriend) and they always have something worth buying, some new promo worth taking advantage of, other people shopping so there's not this empty feeling, and very kind workers at every store. The museum's no longer at the address listed on Yelp but is now at 321 Superior Avenue. This is a…read moresmall museum, basically 2-3 rooms with an open floor plan. Their claim to fame is that Frank King, the author of "Gasoline Alley" came from Tomah, so they have a number of his drawings and sketches, a few paintings and some artifacts (it appears you can purchase some of the advertising pillows/dolls? including the Mammy-like caricature of the character Rachel in the gift shop). There is a selection of World War 1 ephemera including a surgeon's instruments for amputations; military hats; a small barber chair with barber tools; a shoe shine chair with ladies' shoes; a small cabinet with displays of crochet, including lace; a few quilts; a small kitchen display; several dolls, a toy display, and a few JFK and Dwight Eisenhower items, including a painting of Lincoln by Eisenhower and a wooden box JFK kept on his desk to give candy to kids. (Possibly a Norman Rockwell JFK portrait, but it might be a print.) In addition, there are a few Native American artifacts, including baskets from 1940-2000; a pair of moccasins found in a cranberry bog; and a large collection of arrowheads. Recommended admission is a dollar. If you're in Tomah, might as well stop.
