With in a two hour window she repeatedly called me like an ex after a breakup without leaving a voicemail. When I called her back she seemed annoyed that I was calling her back. I wanted to talk to her about general practices she would do with my son for stuttering and all she wanted to talk about was insurance billing and pricing and what school he attends. I am sorry, but your fee of 65 dollars a week and 250 dollar upfront fee is not worth stressing about if we're talking about a child's speech that will impact the rest of their life. When I expressed my feelings of not being sure why she kept talking about insurance she hung up on me. If your child's speech is important I would quote Helen " you would be better suited for looking for another practice." Thanks Helen

Teer House, located near Durham Regional, offers a wide variety of health and wellness classes,…read morefrom baby care for new parents to speech and communication for those living with Parkinson's Disease. My husband and I visited Teer House twice in the last week, once for a breastfeeding class, and once for a class on baby care, both of which could be used as an intro for noobs (this totally describes us, haha!), or as a refresher for been there, done that parents. Teer House is a great big white house off of S. Roxboro Road. It's on the opposite side of the street and a ways down from Durham Regional. It has a big circular drive with very few parking spaces. If a space is not available, you can park in the circular drive in front of the house. The big set of steps mark the main entrance. Typically there is someone sitting just inside the main entrance to mark your name off and direct you to the appropriate location. Both of our classes were downstairs, but there are several spots in Teer House for folks to meet. There are plenty of toilets and they're really good about telling you where they are (not gonna front: this is VERY important info for preggy ladies). There's a Coke machine upstairs, and a few water coolers around. Both classes we took were excellent. It's funny that we took two classes in four hours total (two hours apiece), but the two classes we took on labor and childbirth preparation were for a total of twenty hours (the first was a six-week series with two-hour classes, the second was two four-hour classes). And now I know it's because every parent and child is different. So much of tending to your child's needs is completely arbitrary, but you'll figure it out eventually! It means a lot to have such experienced, friendly, and professional support from Duke. I feel like I have access to a fantastic network of nurses, physicians, and lactation consultants who will be able to help me out whenever I need it. It really is a great program.

The facility offers many general healthcare and wellness classes through Duke medicine. The facility is large and has multiple meeting rooms for various classes at once. While I had some trouble getting us registered for the class itself, since everything is handled by volunteers, I could not get too frustrated with the person on the phone when they did not get our online registration. However, following up multiple times by phone got everything straight. The class we took was informative and contained a good deal of general baby care information. While there were too many deets on breast feeding, the nurse running the class was a lactation consultant, so it makes sense why that was her focus. All in all we learned a good deal and will be heading back for an additional class with a physician and another class on CPR.

They provided both headphones and ear plugs if needed, but I didn't find that I needed either because it was quiet throughout the whole testing process.
