I attended Project Management Academy's PMP exam prep course in Raleigh from (2-5) Dec 2013. Colleen was the instructor for the four day prep course and she was amazing! It was obvious that she is extremely proficient with PMBOK v.5 and has lots of project management experience, which equipped her to make the information she was presenting relevant. Colleen's ability to be able to convey the information in such a way that made it easy to understand and also retain was key. The instructor's enthusiasm throughout the week while presenting the material helped to keep my attention during some long days in the classroom. After completing PMA's four day "boot camp" that included taking a mock exam; receiving one-sheet laminates with key information to know for the exam; and having access the PMA's web site so I could take additional timed practice tests; I felt as though I was well-prepared to take the exam. As a result, I took and passed the exam this past weekend in Wilmington, NC on my first attempt. I have spoken to several other people who spent over twice as much for a web-based PMP prep course as opposed to PMA's "in-the-classroom" course, and those folks felt as though they were not ready to take the PMP test. I think most people learn best "eyeball-to-eyeball" and also benefit by being in a group setting to hear other student's questions/answers--PMA provides that forum. I would consider myself to be a person of average intellect, so if I was able to pass the PMP exam on the first try after completing PMA's training, then anyone can do it! I attended Project Management Academy's 4 Day PMP Boot Camp course in January of 2022 in Raleigh, NC. The instructor, Mr. Michael Martin (Mike), was versed and very knowledgeable in the discipline of project management. He was engaging and full of real world scenarios to make the course material applicable to the profession. Mike was adamite about understanding our needs/goals for the class and tailoring his teaching approach to deliver upon his promises. He provided us techniques and tips of how to approach and apply the knowledge he taught so that we could pass the exam. We started on time and finished on time each day (8:30am - 6pm). We took full advantage of each minute through discussion, white board exercises, Q&A, scenario playing, and scrum huddle. He was an active listener to each question the class had and did a pretty good job expounding on his responses. His recommendation on how to study was clear, precise, tested, and proven. I followed his instructions of what to study, when, and how. Per his request, I had scheduled my exam about 5 weeks from the last day of our class. I stand in confidence today to report that I passed the PMP on my first try with 'above target' (close to max score) in all 3 domains the first week of March 2022. I would recommend not only PMA for the future PMP certification seeker out there, but more specifically Mr. Mike Martin as your choice! read more

I attended the September 2020 Virtual PMP Boot Camp through Project Management Academy (PMA) with John Dokos as the instructor. John did a great job of conveying personal stories that brought the material to life while keeping us on schedule. John (JD) encouraged and motivated the class to get the PMP Exam scheduled and fostered comradery among our class and most of us kept in touch throughout this process. Additionally, JD was extremely knowledgeable concerning the subject material and went above and beyond by being available even after the class to answer questions. I'd highly recommend taking a boot camp through Project Management Academy not only because of instructors like JD, but because of all the techniques they use to teach the materials, including; instruction book, handouts, practice exercises, practice exams, flashcards, and practice questions. I had researched PMP boot camps, and after in depth reviews, on a Saturday I discovered Project Management Academy's PMP Boot Camp, being held in Durham NC, starting Sept 22 2014. I registered at last minute, on a Saturday prior to the start, and got a real human to call me back Saturday to confirm. Far more impressive, was the quality of our instructor, Colleen Stemler, a very smart lady and a truly gifted instructor. Over the 4 days she never tired, and was always focused on what was important, and explained with many examples. She is truly a Subject Matter Expert on PMP. The pace of the course was perfect and she provided very practical, real world examples that made the material easier to understand. I just completed the 4 day boot camp for the PMP with instructor Dan Barringer. The amount of content covered is intense and fast paced, but it's exactly what I needed to begin this journey. I feel that the amount and variety of propriertary study aides alone make PMA stand out, including resources for ongoing support as I continue to prep. Dan was a phenomenal instructor - he was able to read the crowd easily when a concept wasn't sinking in or when we needed a break. His real world examples and demeanor eased the experience. I took the 4-day PMP bootcamp in October. It was taught by Dan Barringer. From my understanding, he usually teaches the Charlotte bootcamp but was teaching the Raleigh class because of a scheduling conflict with the usual teacher. He provided great tips for passing the exam and also walked through all of the 47 processes (yes, all of them). The study guide information and assistance provided by Project Management Academy (study material, practice tests, online assistance, video tutorials) was very helpful! I took the PMP prep course Aug 18-22. Colleen Stempler was a great instructor. Her advice to sail the coast with Captain Ron was a huge help with the PMP exam, and her Project Management experience really showed through, as she seemed to have "been there, done that" examples for most of the PMP topics. I can't imagine any better PMP training than the expert instruction I received at this quality organization. Not only is the course and material first rate, but the instructors are teriffic and they go the extra mile to insure you pass the exam. I really enjoyed the class and learned a great deal from the material and Bill directly. He used story telling as a very effective way of teaching the material.
