I watch her grab her work off the shelf when she walks in the door and when she sees me in the parking lot she waves from inside and CONTINUES to work. When she comes out she will share things she's learned that day. Tutoring was necessary because she's starting high school next year and she has been behind in math for a few years, she has worked herself to the bone in school, attending tutoring afterschool and on weekends IN SCHOOL but never off campus. As a last resort I decided to enroll her in a paid tutoring class. I wish I had just gone in this direction years ago, it would have saved her a lot of struggle. Please don't wait if you're on the fence. Your child doesn't have to struggle with math, she or he can succeed.

She uses math and reading programs. The center is well run and the workers are friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Kumon is a very powerful method. However, the results are not instant. It is something you have to invest in over the long run. Kumon teaches disciple, perseverance, and grit along with math and reading. I have seen fantastic results. Recently my daughter took yearly academic testing and scored well. But one thing is particular just blew me away. She took a timed math test. There were 160 math problems and she completed 156 within the allotted time. She correctly did all 156 problems! This is amazing to me and I give Kumon the credit. My daughter is bright but has always struggled with focus and staying on track. She is basically an average kid and not a mathematical genius or profoundly gifted by any means. I think she still has some challenges in the area of focus but has definitely improved through the years. Kumon teaches the child to stop, focus, and work. The goal is to get into the correct mindset. This is not easy but with practice, the child can improve. We are far from the "perfect" Kumon family. My daughter sometimes fusses, has been known to lose her homework, and we occasionally take breaks for vacation and Holidays. And yet the system still works! That is incredible. Here are her scores for Grade 6 Month 4. Believe me - if she can do it your child can too. It just takes commitment over the long run. Every year her scores improve. Broad Achievement 99% Broad Reading 96% Broad Mathematics 99% Math Calculation Skills 99% Broad Written Language 96% Written Expression 83% Academic Skills 99% Academic Applications 95% Academic Fluency 95% In summary, we have had great results and I wish my older children had been able to start Kumon in the early grades as well. I highly recommend Kumon!

Origins Montessori is the BEST. I have tried to write this review so many times but I just can't…read moresay enough good things about this place. I remember being skeptical in the beginning and I was so confused by how a school could have so many five star reviews. But I quickly learned that Origins deserves every star it has. We did so much research to find childcare. We called and toured dozens of schools. I can honestly say we probably called every school in the 20 mile radius and toured at least ten. We still ended up at a school that ultimately disappointed us. I cannot believe how hard it is to find good childcare. Our son was safe at his old school but that was it. He cried at every drop off, he was silent at school, and he was miserable when he got home. From day one, Origins was a completely different experience. We can tell our son genuinely loves going to school. I finally knew peace as a parent when we started at Origins Montessori. Our son has truly blossomed at this school. He talks about his friends and his teachers at home all the time. The teachers at Origins are exceptional. They are kind, they are caring, they are passionate and they are communicative. A parent's dream. They make school so fun with engaging activities while allowing the kids independence and exploration. Special shout out to our teacher, Ms. P. And the school director is a star. She is experienced, passionate and professional; you can tell right away. She runs Origins so well. Origins is reliable, affordable, and clean. We have not been sick one time because of daycare germs since switching schools (we used to have a 'daycare sick' every other week). I want to say so much more but nothing I say will be enough. Just trust me when I say, Origins Montessori will give you the best care you could ask for your child. *If you made it this far, I want to share a few particular anecdotes because I know how stressful it is leaving your child in others' care. 1. One time our son fell asleep on the drive to school. When this happened at his old daycare, they said I had to wake him up or take him home. I fully expected the same at Origins. But when we got there, his teacher got a bed ready for him and let him sleep in the back room until he was rested. I was amazed and so grateful as a parent. 2. One day, our son didn't want to eat what we packed him for lunch. Instead of letting him go hungry (as his other daycare did), the Origins team texted me and asked if they could give him something from their snack supply. 3. Our son's old daycare had cameras and yet, I still feel safer and more confident leaving him at Origins without cameras because his behavior and positive attitude about school tells me everything I need to know about his treatment at Origins. We could not have found a better place than Origins Montessori for our child.

It was the best decision we could have made for our children that year. The Director Ms Mary and all the teachers there are wonderful , approachable and very hardworking. My children learnt so much at GMA in the 1 year that they were there that I wish I had sent them to GMA right from the beginning -we really miss the school. The school has a curriculum which they set out for the year( they email the schedule at the beginning of the year). The children enjoyed many field trips . My children learnt complex science terms, history, music and much more. GMA does not advertise much. Its mainly word of mouth publicity. I am glad to see they finally made an appearance on yelp which is why I am posting here. GMA is also open to newborns and toddlers but I do not have experience with those teachers so cannot really say much. They also have a school bus in case you cannot pick or drop off your children to school and I liked the fact they are open almost all year except during the December holidays ( a blessing for working parents). One area of improvement is that I wish they had a better play yard but overall that was less of a concern for me.
