Our family's experience with Wisconsin Memorial Park was profoundly upsetting and unacceptable. My stepfather prepaid for his burial here years ago, and his father is already buried there with a headstone in place. Despite this, when we began final arrangements after my stepfather passed, it became clear the organization was deeply disorganized. Although our funeral director personally coordinated all logistics with the cemetery, when we later came in to finalize payments and details, staff began asking us what was happening. We were told this was because those details were handled by a separate "burial team." Why the internal teams don't communicate with each other regarding this information I don't know. Families should never be expected to relay information that has already been provided--especially while grieving. The cemetery repeatedly called my deceased stepfather's phone to schedule appointments related to his own burial, even leaving voicemail messages, despite being informed of his passing. We were later told there was a "do not contact" option that could have been selected immediately, but it wasn't until we explicitly requested it in person. Our in-person meeting began about 15 minutes late, and when it did, staff were clearly unprepared and dealing with computer issues. While technical problems happen, the lack of preparation and respect for scheduled time was frustrating under the circumstances. Over nearly two hours, we were repeatedly asked the same questions (such as whether we wanted easels) despite clearly stating multiple times that we did not. It often felt like we were not being listened to at all. The most baffling issue involved audiovisual setup for the service--something most funerals now require. When we asked how this worked, multiple staff members said they weren't sure. We were passed between people who also couldn't help. Ultimately, the celebrant stepped in unofficially and resolved everything in about ten minutes--highlighting how unnecessary the confusion and runaround had been. Staff demeanor throughout the process was also unsettling--ranging from overly performative to unsure and detached. Only one individual expressed condolences in a calm, genuine, and appropriate way. Given that these staff members work with grieving families every day, this inconsistency was jarring. At one point, when locating the burial site next to an existing family member, staff even questioned whether we were sure the location was correct. More than once, we genuinely felt like we were on a hidden camera show. What worries me most is that many family friends also have plots here. After what we experienced, I am genuinely concerned for their families when the time comes. Families deserve compassion, competence, and coordination during times of loss not upselling, performative 'empathy', and disarray. Unfortunately, the latter is what we experienced here. read more

i'm posting this so everyone will know the OUTSTANDING job, Garrett Rose and his staff at Wisconsin Memorial Park does, I've had been in contact via Email for about a year, about my dissatisfaction of a removing of a bench by my grandparents crypt, a few months before Garrett even arrived, well we were set to meet about trying to resolve the issue, but then covid happened, so we resolved the issue via email, well fast forward to Mothers day 2021, i was out at WMP, putting flowers on 5 graves, and i go to put flowers on my Uncles crypt, and this gentleman that was out at a tent with flowers for moms, comes over to talk to us, and is telling about the new vases he has for the crypts they lock in place and has the foam right in it, well i ask his name and it happens to be Garrett (the General Manager of WMP), i think thats awesome to see a GM out interacting with the customers and loved ones they serve. So he sends me in to the office to get these new vases for my Uncles and my Grandparents crypts and thats where i was greeted by Diane at the front desk, she was so friendly and seems to enjoy her job, and she was able to take care of me getting the new vases and labeled them for the graves, then as im leaving i meet Braden, a family counselor at WMP, also very polite and friendly as we are walking out, talking about the cemetery, you could tell she really cared what you had to say, opening the doors as we walking out, well i go back to the crypts and put the new vases on and they lock in so perfect you will never have to worry about the flowers blowing off again. and once again Chatting with Garrett once more about how pleased i am with the transformation of WMP, because before Dignity took over the operations the cemetery was looking in desperate needs of some TLC, Dignity and Garrett Rose staff continue to keep up the excellent work!!!! read more

My Father has been at the park for over 25 years and my Mother has been there for over 18 years. They originally purchased their crypt in the Garden of the Last Supper in 1965. As a family we were impressed by the condition of the park, and the way the buildings were maintained. I have been asking in vain for approximately 10 years when they will fix the area. Everything is so deteriorated that it can't be repaired, probably has to be replaced. No one returns calls with answers. When my parents first purchased in this park they used to display veterans flags on special occasions with appropriate flag etiquette. Now they have burned my Fathers flag without notice and never use flag etiquette anymore. They promised to give me the collar from my Fathers pole and never delivered. I would give them a negative stars if offered. read more

Our mom had chosen her urn and where she wanted her final resting place to be many years prior to her passing. Having these decisions already made was such a blessing to myself and my sisters. I met our Family Service Counselor, Scott, when the time came to place our mom's urn in her final resting spot within the main memorial building. Scott was very easy to work with and was always available to answer any question we had. When we arrived for the placement, Scott had already arranged to have a lit candle on a small table. My sisters and myself were pleased to learn that in addition to a picture, other mementos were also allowed. In our case, a small cardinal figurine. Although a very large memorial park, I definitely felt I received very individual attention from Scott and the gentleman who replaced the glass on the niche. read more

I live out of state, but my husband and I prepared ourselves about 2 years ago inquiring about purchasing a lot, and I wanted one near my parents. They created a new lot for us close by, and it turned out to be a peaceful spot under a tree. Then when he died, we had him cremated where we live, and our family brought his ashes later in the year for burial. The cemetery was so kind and helpful with setting up the service. They were very flexible in planning, and Jim Who officiated the service, was pleasant and cheerful. I cannot even begin to express my great fullness for their help. They understood my grief and were very patient with me. I felt that they understood my pain, and everything went so smoothly. I definitely would recommend them. Wisconsin Memorial was just wonderful to our family in taking care of our family with the internment of my mom. This is a very sad occasion. The crypt was opened with where my Dad is interned. The crypt and mom was ready for us, when the family came, and the pastor. We had a short service. After, the service, we all waited around. The crew who put mom into the crypt was very caring in putting mom into the crypt. They were so good and caring and respectful, that they received a rousing round of applause from all of the children and grandchildren. Everyone at Wisconsin Memorial, from the time we came to them to the internment, were very caring, This was much appreciated. Thank you so much. You made a difficult time more tolerable. My parents purchased their plots at Wisconsin Memorial Park back in the 70's. This was lovingly referred to as their "lake property in Brookfield" since the plot was next to the pond in the back of the cemetery. My mother passed in 2017 and my father in 2018. They both wanted to be cremated and our family wanted them together in one urn to be placed in their plot. Family Service Counselor James Schutte at Wisconsin Memorial Park was a delight to work with. He and April made the paperwork so easy and the interment was held on my mother's birthday July 12th. Our graveside service with the urn was simple and beautiful. I am so pleased how things turned out. I recently had to take a lead role in planning a memorial service and final preparations for my Godmother. Overwhelmed is an understatement however I can say I found a bright spots along the way. The staff at Wisconsin Memorial Park made several of those moments happen. They listened to my concerns, addressed them and guided the path. The facility is beautiful. Living in Milwaukee most of my life I was completely in awe of the facility. I feel like my Godmother is resting like royalty! I'd highly recommend them. My parents will one day be there and I can foresee myself making my final arrangements to be there. 2020 has been a whirlwind but they helped to make for an easy transition for someone who was completely clueless on what I needed to do! read more

Wisconsin Memorial Park provided excellent customer service from our general inquiry online to the planning of the memorial service in person to the actual day of the memorial. All of the staff were knowledgeable, helpful, and respectful. It made the process easy that they could answer our questions about budget, vases, and urn requirements online first. They also provided a map and instructions so the procession would be organized. My mom had concerns about the final cost and we were able to get the full total discussed to allow enough in the planning. Wisconsin Memorial fees are a-little higher than most, however, the customer service and peace of mind are well worth it. Highly recommen Wisconsin Memorial Park. read more

The services I received were outstanding during the time of my uncle's passing. In the time where we were all to stay home due to the Covid19 virus going around, Carlene Silva was a great big help to me and my family. She made sure that everything went so smooth and that we did not have to do anything but verify paper work and sign. On the day of the burial, she was right there by our sides videoing the committal services and made sure that it was received. She followed up with me and even met with me again weeks after the burial to make sure I was doing ok and to give me information on services that they offer. my nephew on January 20, 2025. I've stated over and over, what jewel she has been. Her friendliness and her patience has been over the top! I don't know what I would have done without her. She worked far into some nights to help me. On the day of the visitation, Mr. Kristian was right there working and helping all of us to be comfortable. He was so helpful and considerate that I felt he went beyond the call of duty too. Our father passed a couple of weeks ago and was buried at Wisconsin Memorial. From the military honor guard, to the service at graveside, we could not have been more pleased or appreciative of the support we received. We worked with Bridgette, who was highly professional and even gave us an extended tour of the grounds. She accommodated some different and difficult requests of the family in a seamless, natural and respectful way. The grounds and surroundings are clean, well-kept and impressive. I lost my dad unexpectedly in 2019... and i was only 17 at the time... and I still remember how everyone just walked me through what to expect and how it was going to go... they did an incredible job and even now nearly 4 years later they always check in on my dads site touch it up if need be... very kind group and I would definitely recommend them... losing a loved one is a super hard thing and they will be by your side through it all... we still get letters occasionally on the anniversary (August 26th 2019) just letting us know they are thinking about us and that truly means the world to me and my mom... read more

I had to fly from out of state to bury my father. Trish was my first contact. By the time things were done I asked her if I could give her a hug and told her: "I think God made you for this job." Besides Trish, the ladies in the office, the guy who drove the trike to pull my dad in the Harley trailer, the guy who led the procession, the WMP Director who came along, and the two guys who did all the digging and putting my dad in the ground were absolutely stellar. For my mother's death in 2018, Helen Mader, and now in early 2023, my brother James Mader who died on Christmas Eve and was buried on January 6th, In both instances, I dealt with Blaine Lusha, who was excellent to deal with in both times. Blaine was extremely efficient and calming to anyone who has just lost someone. Because he was SO good to deal with and had so much compassion, I again went with Blaine and was very satisfied and happy with the results. Many thanks to Garrett Rose for personally getting involved with resolving our family's ongoing problem. It took two attempts to fix up and improve my father's gravesite but, that underscores his determination not to give up until we were fully satisfied.
