With the COVID restrictions, I did not want to postpone the funeral to a later date memorial service. My son was 19 years old, Down Syndrome and Autistic. We were told at Heritage we could have up to 50 people in the building at a time and that was ok with us. When meeting with Sarah, our funeral director, she asked what types of things Ryan liked... We told her that he was always happy, and a huge Spongebob fan, that was all he was interested in...So, we said told her we would like his funeral to represent him, keep it light. Sarah said not to worry she had a few things in mind. Sarah decorated in the Spongebob theme. It made the day easier as we could smile remembering his love of Spongebob. She had balloons, amazing decorations to represent my son. We are so grateful to Sarah, she did such a fantastic job at representing who my son really was. Everyone who attended commented on how nice the funeral home represented Ryan. I cannot say enough about how grateful we are to Sarah. She was certainly amazing.

Since the change to Church and Chapel they have assisted my family with losses such as the unthinkable at 1 day old, the traumatic loss of a teen and numerous elderly family members. The care and compassion we experienced was second to none. The staff is compassionate, caring and the attention to detail each time is amazing. They were not there just to sell us a funeral, they truly helped us through the grieving process and were so accommodating to what we were going through for each of the passings. Our 92 year old loved one was under hospice care and passed away at home on June 15, 2018. By July 2nd I had not heard from C, C & Z and called them to inquire if the remains were ready for pickup. I was told the cremation had not taken place, they were awaiting a Dr's signature. The thought of our loved one having been somewhere in "storage" for 3 weeks was heartbreaking. After more calls and more vague explanations I reached C, C & Z on July 11th. The staff said she "was about" to call me that the remains were ready for pick up. The information with the remains indicated the cremation took place on July 4th. C, C & Z provided services for us in 2015 and we were very satisfied which is why we chose them again in June of this year. I don't know what changes they have made in the past 3 years, but I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

Walking into a funeral home for this type of information is already incredibly emotional and overwhelming, and unfortunately, our experience here made it even harder. We came in simply looking for guidance and information because we did not know where to start. Despite there being no services taking place at the time, we were not greeted in a warm or professional manner. We were left standing while staff gave us scattered bits and pieces of information rather than sitting down with us for a thoughtful or professional conversation. A blood drive was taking place that day that no one was attending so, basic compassion and professionalism should have been shown. We were not offered a seat until I specifically asked, and even then only one seat was offered for the two of us. No one clearly explained the process for making arrangements or scheduling an appointment. We were handed a pamphlet, but the overall interaction felt rushed, impersonal, and lacking empathy. This is a business that works with families during some of the hardest moments of their lives. Compassion, professionalism, and simple courtesy matter greatly. Sadly, we did not feel supported or cared for during our visit. Honestly, it really would not matter what price they would come in at, as I do not foresee ever recommending this establishment.

Prairie Home Cemetery is where the gravesite of Les Paul is located. His memorial was easy to find…read moreas there are many signs pointing you there. His final resting place is a nice tribute to one of the greatest guitarists of all time. His accomplishments are listed on marble in front of his grave. His tomb is surrounded by quotes from the artist as well as his biography. Behind his grave you can see his famous guitar and signature. His wife is buried here as well. I highly recommend Prairie Home Cemetery.

The past years I have been very disappointed with the ground keeping. It is really deteriorated in certain areas tremendously. Today I was there and was appalled at the careless work in my father's area. There are no flags on many of the area markers who served in the war. Sadly to say my father's and my uncles are missing also. They have never been placed this year. I cleaned up and around the markers which were buried in all sorts of debris only to find them in disarray again today. I was very upset to say the least. All the work that I did around them was covered in dirt and some of the flowers were chopped up and no military flags are present again. I do not know what has happened to this place but it's the saddest looking cemetery I have ever been in. I plan on following up to find out why it has deteriorated so. I would really love to leave a good review however I am terribly disappointed. Their charges also for Christmas wreaths are outrageous. I would give more stars for the office personnel through the past years.
