Saw a bunch of personalized golf carts, these members obviously live in houses surrounding the links. Great pro shop with an extensive selection. Prices weren't all that bad either. I don't play regularly enough to justify the $5700 membership. So, doubt I'll be back anytime soon.

Been to the Baird (formerly the Midwest Express Center) several times before. It's a very…read moregeneral-purpose venue with several large conference and convention spaces. Came here today for Dancefest, a competition featuring youth dance groups from around the Midwest. We arrived around 9:00 a.m., and the place was just getting started. There were plenty of staff on hand and multiple lines open for security, so things moved along smoothly. The building is modern, clean, and well cared for. There are food concessions throughout the halls, and for this event they also had a food court set up. I was able to get a steamer made by Stone Creek Coffee, which was a nice bonus. A good event, in a good space.

This is not the clever, kitschy kind of place you'd find in Bayview. It's not the upscale, fancy kind of place you will find downtown. I would not come here on a first date. Not the biggest selection I've ever seen in a bar, but there were some very good options on tap - local things, stronger things, etc. If you refuse to settle for the usual Stallis selection of Miller Lite, Bud Lite, etc. etc. you'll still find something to drink here. I think I remember getting a pint of something good from Lakefront? And, the whiskey pours I got on my first visit here were phenomenal, and very generous. As a whiskey lover, I often go out and order whiskey neat. I wasn't expecting to have much choice in the whiskey I ordered, but ended up getting three very generous pours of three different worthwhile bourbons. So to conclude, this place isn't the fanciest, and the name makes me cringe (anyplace with a Z where an S belongs is usually not a place I'll consider going) - but it turns out, it's a worthwhile neighborhood bar, and I'll definitely be back.

We attended the Wingspan and Wine event and it was a lovely evening in every way. Before entering…read morethe building, we were greeted with a bald eagle, his handler and another staff member introducing us with an abundance of interesting facts about the eagle. All of the staff was friendly, knowledgeable and clearly have a passion and love for their roles at the nature center. The Wingspan and Wine event had a variety of wines to try, along with charcuteries, veggies, fruit and some desserts to munch on throughout the evening. The stars of the evening were the many different raptors we got to see up close and hear all about, all of which are clearly cared for and loved by all of the staff. The property itself is gorgeous and spacious. Visiting the Schlitz Audubon Center has been on my list for years and I'm so glad I was finally able to visit - now I can't wait to go back for more exploring and to see more of what they have to offer!

We live in the area but regretfully don't visit enough. Recently though, my son and I went for a morning to explore my nephew's school there. He's apart of their "Nature School" program for young kiddos (essentially a pre-kindergarten class). The coolest part? Most all of the classrooms are outdoors! The trails are stunning, winding through well-kept nature preserves, into the woods, past small ponds, and over little bridges. It really is a beautiful and calming place to be. You'll discover all kinds of ecosystems and wildlife along the way. The main lodge is lovely as well. Vast in size, make to a modern day log cabin. It's very clean and welcoming, offering mini museum-like exhibits of animals, a coffee/tea section, and even a gift shop. The staff are sweet and helpful, offering maps and guidance about the property. Highly recommend a visit to this nature center! Whether it's a planned group visit, attending their planned events and camps, or just a simple excursion on your own, it's a wonderful place to explore.

They also have stained glass, pottery, and wreath-making classes. The owner is a florist and does events and her creations are incredible. They have pottery, handmade jewelry, ceramics, and plants for sale. Pop in whenever they're open. You can still look around even if there is a class going on. It's just a really welcoming and cozy place.
