This is a great convention venue. It rivals many of the big ones I'm used to in the Chicagoland area. I came here with my son for Adepticon (nerd alert) and was impressed by the organization of all the events and the vendor mall. I was surprised by the number of food options here and though they were "convention prices", there was a unique variety that made it too tempting to pass up. The restaurants around the center were a good option to what was inside and if we were there longer than one day, I think we would have explored more. I liked the modern amenities from parking to the public restrooms and escalators for getting around easily. I was able to find free parking on the street, but was happy to see the parking structure as an alternative option. read more

This is a large venue that was great for hosting a convention. I was in town for the Retail Confectioners International conference, and although I thought everything was at the Hilton next door, as it was the host hotel, it turns out it was actually at the Wisconsin Center. There is a skywalk connecting the two hotels, but it was actually faster to take the hotel elevator down, at the Hilton, walk outside, then walk to the Wisconsin Center, most of the time. The facility looks new-ish. I liked that they had poems and quotes on the doors, it was unique. I attended a few education sessions here and then one big awards ceremony in the Grand Ballroom, and all were very nice. It gets 4 stars from me and not 5 because I wish the bathrooms were not as spread out - they were plentiful, but a walk. read more

I went to see Beyond Monet here and it was great. I would have given it more stars except the website was not helpful and parking was confusing. They are working on it but that was a drawback. The people were super helpful. The venue clean and nice. Signage great. Actual parking was easy to find and reasonable. Do not hesitate to go to an event. read more

Came here for a charity event last weekend and the place didn't disappoint. The ambiance was great, the place was immaculately clean, and the staff were extremely friendly. Food cooked by staff also was pretty decent considering the group size we had. I had never been here before and before the event took a walk around and the rest of the building was just as nice as the ballrooms. Would highly recommend for any events for a company. read more

What is the deal with this place Milwaukee? It has to be one of the most underutilized spaces in the city. Like a hidden gem. I'm here to tell ya! The last time I was at the Wisconsin Center was a few decades ago. For work conventions. I mean, the Hyatt was still open and the revolving restaurant still revolved - that long ago. It was with some trepidation that I visited the Milwaukee Auto Show last weekend. I wondered what this place would be like. I was pleasantly surprised and delighted to discover it's every bit as wonderful as I remember. Someone has taken pains to ensure the integrity of the Wisconsin Center. Same wonderful space, same gracious architecture. So glad to see its still beautiful and cared for. Now, if only the space would get used more often and I'd have reasons to visit. Wouldn't that be a nice thing to have happen, Milwaukee? Let's get on it! read more

Here for the last two days of a regional volleyball tournament- 20+ courts, super clean and food on site was good enough. Directly across from the Shops at Grand Avenue which has a few places to eat and kill time too. Pay parking all around, but I managed to get close free road side parking- easy if you're diligent. Pleasantly surprised by the experience! read more

Clean, large rooms, and a great downtown location! I enjoyed visiting the Wisconsin Center for the Milwaukee Auto Show. Despite its large size it was really easy to navigate around. The only issues I had was with parking, which I wished was a little cheaper. Also the decorations were a bit odd with quotes all over the walls... not quite sure why they were there. read more

Really great venue for conventions in Milwaukee. Connected to the Hilton and Hyatt Regency hotels by awesome skywalk bridges. Everything is so clean and very modern. This building has multiple large rooms and multiple levels. Feels really open. Currently here for a Gaufest for a German dance competition. It is beautiful an fits everyone. Sound travels well and you here the band wherever you are and above the crowds. Very impressed. Also so many windows in the hallway. Feels so light and airy. The building also has a lot of character on the outside. Really love this place and great for hosting events. Hopefully will be here again in the future :) read more

I mean, it's a convention center. So, it's a big space that can hold meetings and conventions, everything from Wine & Dine WI to miniature train world expos or whatever... The Good ! -the capacity -the location -rooms of disparate sizes, ginormous spaces for trade show type things, basically if you've got an event for 50, 500, or 5000 you're covered here The Bad ! -parking is extra expensive in nearby structures ($20/day, I know this is chump change in bigger metros, but still... ) The Ugly ! -the carpet, at least some of it The Weird ! -all those errant quotes on the walls; some are solid, some are strange, not sure why they're there at all... But four stars overall, because it's clean and big and (relatively) modern and the skywalk to the parking structure is actually a pretty nice feature and also, MKE is a pretty great city to have host your big happening (and probably on the cheap!) read more

Went to go see Bassnectar last night and realized that for such a nice venue, the security and entire staff does NOT know what they are doing. 1. They made everyone pull out id's and gave a wristband if you were over 21 during entry. However when you go to the bar for a drink, they still needed id . What was the point of that then? It held back and delayed the entry line for probably an extra hour. And even the bartenders there said the policy made zero sense and was completely idiotic. 2. I wanted to bring in a empty water bottle to refill water, which was allowed, based on event (REACT PRESENTS...typical...) info online yet security DENIED me entry until i had to put it in a $10 locker. Ridiculous, then they charge $5 for a water! Wtf. 3. Excessive GROPING by security. The female line for the pat down was extremely disturbing. I saw this female security basically grope breasts and other areas and it was shocking. My friend told me she had never been violated like that before and said another girl broke down in tears because of that. I go to tons of shows in the year and tonight's security blew my mind. I felt so bad for the ladies lines... 4. After the show, upon exiting, they forced us to exit downstairs with only one way out, directly outside....which was a HUGE issue because tons of people had rented out lockers for their jackets. People had to go outside (at 33 degrees) and go back into the main front entry point. Security at the front kept refusing to let people enter again...but somehow we managed to get thru. Absolutely ZERO coordination. How is that even possible for such a big sold out event?? This place & REACT had the worst mangement oversight and logistics planning ive ever been to for a big event such as tonight to the point where i had to write this review to warn of other people ever coming here. read more

This is a very nice convention center. The rooms offer enough space to spread out a bit so you're not on top of others. The building is attractive and modern and easy to navigate around. The staff of the center was both hands-off yet helpful when needed, which is a great combination. The center is located in a very prime location downtown and is conveniently attached to the Hyatt Regency by a walkway. The Frontier Center is also connected to a parking garage which cost $16/day if you were just parked for the day. There is a special rate if you're also staying overnight at the hotel. read more

The only area site for larger conventions so there's not much to compare with. It would be unfair to contrast with Chicago's McCormick Place, not in the same league. This place is well located in the midst of the Milwaukee hotel sector, walking distance to lots of good restaurants, the space is nice. It's clean, well maintained, with some interesting art and for the most part tasteful convention venue decor. Security is competent and low profile, but other services suffer from the fact that this place is underused. I was at a somber event here and some workers were talking and laughing so loudly they had to be shushed a couple of times. On another occasion I had to correct some oddly incorrect directions given to out of town conventioneers by Center employees. I'd really like to see this place get used more often, and then I'm sure the staff would get better with experience. Downtown Milwaukee is much more affordable than the Loop in Chicago, and this venue can handle fairly large size conventions, or multiple smaller size seminars or meetings. read more

This is a great convention center. It's an attractive building from the outside and the inside is well-maintained and clean. The bathrooms are some of the best I've seen in a public place, no joke. From the perspective of someone who's both attended and worked events here, I can say that I'm a fan. read more

If I could give this place zero stars I would. Fuck this place, fuck the staff, fuck it all. I came here for a show with my girlfriend and during the show our phones died. Luckily I remembered to bring a charger. After the show we went and found an outlet outside the venue. After a little bit of time the phone came on but at that very moment security swarmed is and told us to "get the fuck out" and that they "wanted to leave" all we needed was to call an Uber. We ended up being stranded outside in 15 degree weather with virtually no clothes on. The way these assholes treated us angers me greatly. Never coming back there ever again read more

This is an overall fine convention center. As it is downtown Milwaukee, free parking doesn't exist except on Sundays. They should consider blow dryers in the bathroom in additon to paper towels to be a little greener. read more

Went here for a concert recently. I was forced to throw out my new lipgloss because apparently it might be liquid drugs. Terrible concert setup it's like a giant gymnasium. The bartender was ridiculously slow. I had a pad in my lanyard as well, and the security woman held it up in front of everyone and asked if there was anything in it.... For real? Never coming here again. read more

For a conference center of its size, the location, skywalk access to hotels, and being centralized in downtown Milwaukee are great. What's not so great are the center's WiFi capabilities, woefully inadequate for any site hoping to host large conferences in the 21st century. read more

I've never written a review on yelp before and I'm generally pretty chill, but I was really disgusted by the way security treated everyone at the Freaky Deaky Halloween event on Oct 28th. So disgusted that I've been thinking about it all day today and I'm making an account here just to post this. Right off the bat with security they are rude as you're walking in the doors and trying to sort out where to go, one person will tell you to go stand over here, then someone else literally yells at you to move somewhere else "because I said so" making it difficult to stay together with even one person let alone a group. There was NO coordination between these security people at all, the only connection they seemed to have to one another was their negative attitudes towards the event attendees. My husband and I were put into separate lines to be searched, both of us were told our tickets were invalid by the ticket checkers, both of us were sent to customer service by separate people, and then both of us were sent to yet another line for VIP. With any organization at all, at least one of us should of been directed where to go as soon as we presented our ticket! My husband was forced to go get a $10 locker to put in something that was allowed to be brought in the night before (rules changed over night he was told) meanwhile I was sent upstairs alone having no idea about this, and had we had to try and find each other after. The first locker he was given didn't even have a lock on it, adding to the chaos because he had to go find someone to get a different locker before he could try to find me. The VIP deck was supposed to have tables and chairs. It had chairs.. a few. Not even close to enough even though there was ample room for more, and zero tables. We could of let that slide but we had to endure security literally pushing their way through us, looking over our shoulders while we watched the show, legitimately they were SHOVING their way through you every 3-4 minutes, just to do it? This one security woman just circled the VIP deck, pushing her way through everyone, the entire time. She would give people an attitude for getting "too close" to the edge of the deck, I also noticed her looking over a guy's shoulder at his phone while he was trying to type something on it, clearly making him uncomfortable.. he shook his head when she finally walked away. It was impossible to relax and enjoy the music and dance with these angry looking people literally standing inches behind you (some unpleasant cologne, buddy!) and pushing their way BETWEEN you, using the VIP deck as their personal lookout stand when it was supposed to be there for VIP paying customers to enjoy themselves. Someone on VIP got hauled off by security for having a brand new, unopened fully sealed package of gum, which was supposed to be okay to have. They just grabbed him and yanked him out the door, leaving the poor lady he was there with shocked and alone with no idea what to do. Really, it seemed like security had the GOAL to mess with people's nights, it was really upsetting when all the people there for the music were just trying to enjoy themselves like any paying customer. I didn't see a single person causing actual issues, the medical people were just standing around the entire time, yet security was on a power trip like they were forced to be there without pay so we were all gonna suffer with them or something. We loved the artists and we met some great people, but we don't plan on going back to that venue. We did not feel welcome. read more
