I am currently a patient of Dr. Meehan and I absolutely love this practice…read more I was referred by my dentist after an initial consultation with another orthodontist who decided that they couldn't accommodate a very small desire I have of keeping a small gap in front (after having spaces in my teeth for 38 years). Needless to say I was not going to be having my treatment with them. During my initial consult with Dr. Meehan, I had the same request and shared the same desire and he totally understood and so here I am 14 months into treatment. I absolutely adore everyone at the practice. They are professional but very friendly :) and I truly look forward to coming to my appointments . I tell everyone that this is where they should do treatment and told my dentist that this should be his first referral for anyone needing braces. Thanks Dr. Meehan and staff for your amazing work and commitment to your clients

Shout out to Dr Angel Fraizer !!! I am so very grateful that…read moreyou have been my dentist this past year, changed my view of dentist.....Fast Forward Now the doctor Frazier's gone I found another dentist realizing that just because I was on Medicaid I was treated badly no emergency appointments Regular patients when you get a cleaning they give you a complementary toothbrush toothpaste and floss Medicare patients get nothing they wanted to pull my teeth and just leave me with gums for months until they can get you in for then partials I had a root canal done at UIC when I went to the dentist they made a temporary and broke off my tooth that had the root canal so now that tooth has to be pulled and I have to get a flipper. They gave me a referral to go to UIC to get my teeth pulled, told me to wait for them to call me a year later of yet to hear from UIC Finally I went to another dentist and they are fixing my teeth and while I'm waiting for some crowns they gave me temporary teeth So if you have regular insurance you're fine if your Medicaid you're just a payment to them one specific dentist to treat all the Medicaid customers no frills no thrills they overwork the one dentist that they have treating Medicaid people and the appointments are so far booked out because you're on Medicaid it's a shame no longer on Medicaid but I doubt I will ever go to this dentist again upon reflection these people are not nice to people that are on Medicaid so if you got regular insurance you could go there staff is wonderful but I the restrictions they put on patients that have Medicaid is horrible, why bother taking Medicaid Shame on the owners for treating Medicare patients like they're third class citizens shame on you

My permanent retainer broke, which resulted in a gap forming with my front teeth. I had a very difficult time finding a local ortho who would help. The first ones I went to either wouldn't take me or wanted to charge me upwards of $600 for services i really didn't think i needed. Dr. Wong fit me in right away, and came up with an amazing plan to close the gap very quickly. The charge for her service was beyond reasonable, and now my teeth look great. I have referred lots of people there. When my daughters are of age, we will definitely go to Dr. Wong for any orthodontic treatment. Trust me -- you will love Dr. Wong!

Dentists like Dr. Akhras are hard to find. After a painful botched filling gone wrong with my…read moreprevious dentist I spent months trying to find another dentist who would be willing to fix my tooth. I was in an immense amount of pain that other dentists tried to convince me was "in my head" and that "whatever you're feeling will go away in a few days". Well, those "days" turned to weeks, which turned into months and I was still in pain! I was frustrated and losing hope that none of the other dentists I went to were even listening to me! That's when I stumbled upon Dr. Akhras. One of my friends had highly recommended him to me, saying that his work ethic and his rapport with patients is unmatched. I didn't believe it after the slew of horrible dentists I had gone through in the last few months, but I thought to myself, "What do I have to lose? I'll give this dentist a shot." When I had first walked into Dr. Akhras's office I was immediately impressed by how cordial the members of his staff were to me. I arrived a little early, but his staff was able to accommodate me. After filling out paperwork I waited only a few minutes before I was ushered to one of the exam room. This was a rare occurrence for me as I'm used to waiting over half an hour with bitter and cranky receptionists. A few moments later Dr. Akhras came in. Dr. Akhras was warm and friendly, and unlike other dentists I had been to I did not feel rushed! I proceeded to give him a 15 minute cliff-notes version of the tooth-nightmare I had been living for the last several months, and he was incredibly patient. Like I said, I did not feel rushed. He did not interrupt me to get to the "actual dental issue" I had been having. He listened patiently to my grievances. And when it came time for me to ask him questions, he was knowledgeable, and seemed to have an abundant supply of patience with my never-ending amount of questions. After my side of the story and a quick (yet thorough) inspection and exam of my teeth and a few xrays, he was able to figure out what was wrong with my teeth. Long story short, I needed a root canal and crown done to fix the previous dentist's botched work. I will say that I had never gotten either a root canal or a crown done, but I have heard the horror stories. However, with Dr. Akhras, at least for me, none of those horror stories turned out to be true. Both procedures were done quickly and painlessly. And even after the procedures were done Dr. Akhras had called and followed up with me in the days after to see how I was doing because he understood how scarred I was from my negative experiences from the previous dentists. I very highly recommend Dr. Akhras. He's my main dentist now. Unlike the other dentists I had been to he doesn't look at you like a "bag of money", nor does he rush you. He takes his time with each patient, and gives them the respect that they each deserve.

I wish I paid attention to Lori B.s review of this extremely unprofessional man who calls himself a…read morehealthcare provider. When an adult patient complains of pain it should be taken seriously every time. I have complained of intense pain due to improper treatment and every time I am yelled at and dismissed. I started treatment May 2021 and now look at my teeth. I'm not sure if this doctor has gotten his bifocals checked in the last several years but this is not improvement this is backtracking and making more issues and problems with my bite and teeth. This man subjected me to a dimpling procedure as he calls it which caused me significant pain and inability to talk. During the procedure numbing agent got down my throat and I was unable to breathe and swallow. I was choking up blood in the office because I could not swallow or feel my tongue. The ordeal was traumatic. Every time I come into this a office the doctor Damas ignores my concerns for pain and laughs. I've only been seeing this doctor for a year and it feels like several the way I am dismissed and continuously sent home to deal with the chronic pain I am enduring from my teeth being moved out of the bone due to a fixed palate expander that should have never been put on or used with Invisalign but I trusted the doctor who claimed to have investigated my case and discussed it with colleagues. Instead 33 weeks into liners using them full time and every single one of my teeth has chipped and cracked and I can't even eat or chew. I am gumming food and dropped down to 100 pounds. The main reason I came to this doctor was my bite being off and wanting to finally be able to chew and eat. All of these unnecessary procedures and pain have accomplished the opposite and on top of that that doctor is aggressive and violent in the office when I try to express my concerns. I am an adult with a nursing and medical school degree and background but this man talked down to me as if I were a child. The most recent visit when trying to describe my pain and chipped teeth I was screamed at by the doctor. Dr. John Damas leaned into my face within less than an inch while I was laying down in the chair. Neither one of us had masks on and he pointed directly in my face screaming at me that I'm not listening to him "Lia, you're not listening!" Trying to tell me the liners are working as I am saying my face is not midline, all my teeth are in pain and are coming too far out of my gum line to be functional. In less then one year I went from having a nice profile to being unrecognizable not to mention in constant agony and pain. All I wanted was a refund because for the last year I have been ignored and dismissed when discussing my pain and inability to eat. During this process no one should be having difficulty eating chewing or speaking. I have no quality of life since this poor treatment because I've had to take off so much work for pain from speaking. I never thought one person could ruin your life so drastically and not even take an ounce of accountability to try to fix the issue. I've tried to be patient and discuss my concerns but Dr.Damas is unreasonable and unsafe. I felt so threatened and intimidated by him bending down into my face and yelling at me. I have not had anyone that close in my personal space or since before COVID. My mom does not even get that close to me. Dr. Damas was trying to use his 6 foot tall demeanor to threaten and intimidate me into continuing treatment while I'm in constant pain. Instead of listening to me he decided to yell at me and tell me, the patient, what I am feeling or experiencing. You can see for yourself the small photos are recent and my teeth where Dr.Damas attached a fixed palate expander for too long, busted those teeth out of my jaw and gum line. It is so painful. Every one else has said this is malpractice. See the results for yourself. I wish I believed this poor young girl who had to endure the same abuse I did. No one should be in constant pain and no follow up X-rays or imaging has been done. That is malpractice. Save your money and go to a real orthodontist.
