Tables are closely spaced and service is as close to the American industrial model as I have seen. Not the most relaxed meal. We happened upon it just by looking up restaurants close to our hotel and it wound up being our favorite place we ate in our whole 10 days in Switzerland! The atmosphere is so warm and welcoming. When you walk up, there are tables and chairs throughout the walkway and then an entire open area of tables off of the outside bar for a fun hangout. The building appears to be an old house turned restaurant and is so beautiful on the outside and so warm and inviting on the inside. The menu had accommodations for everyone - which is so nice as I am a lactose intolerant pescatarian! I got the beetroot and black bean burger both nights I was there and it was to die for!! I ate the entire thing both nights and just wanted more (it was a big burger though)!! I also had a watermelon spritz which was so refreshing! You can tell the owners/workers get to know their regulars as I saw them stopping by tables and chatting - which was just so fun to see! If you're in Zurich, I highly recommend popping by! My only regret was that I never saved room for the brownie dessert!

The Raclette was a revelation -- gooey goodness of fireside melted cheese with a texture that was supple as it was satisfying. The plate on which it was served was hot, keeping the cheese in a fleeting state of stringy, perfect for wrapping around a freshly steamed potato. The local white wine had just the right acidity to cut through all the richness. Dessert was merengue atop ice cream--a touch too sweet for my tooth, but nice. Watching the transformation of the cheese from perfectly aged wheel to plated drips of delight was the real highlight. My diet died for a good cause tonight!

We opted for 5 courses which included 2 appetizers, 2 mains and one dessert. One standout dish was the yellowtail sashimi. The fish was fresh, silky and sweet, paired with blueberries and dill sorbet which was unique and created a surprisingly clean and refreshing bite. Another one was the white asparagus paired with yuzu. The white asparagus was tender and brightened by the citrusy acidity from the yuzu. The flavors were refined, well-balanced, and beautifully presented, allowing the quality of each ingredient to shine. Our server was extremely friendly and patient as he took the time to explain everything to us in English. Service was also just at the right pace. We didn't feel rushed and it wasn't as slow as what we experienced in Germany and Austria. Wöschi provides a combination of exceptional food, attentive service and a beautiful lakeside view. The restaurant is tucked away off Seestrasse on the water behind a bizarre vintage designer clothing outlet (seriously odd - a better selection of 1980's Balenciaga and Givenchy than in 1980....). Impeccable, welcoming service even though I only ordered a glass of wine during dinner hours; the restaurant was empty due to the off season, but I can imagine it's packed in the summer since the glass walls can fully open to the outdoors.
