We brought our car to this location and received an estimate for a full paint job and to repair the…read morefront right fender well trim piece, as it was hanging, from brushing against something and there were superficial paint scuffs on the front right bumper. We spoke to the owner, William Palumbo, Jr. (Bill), who suggested we get a "mid" grade package, not the cheapest but not the most expensive, the Urethane + Integrated Clear Coat, which comes with a four year warranty. He also added in 1.5 hours labor to repair the front right fender. The estimate was for roughly $1,550. Before booking an appt, we inquired how long it would take, we were told, "depends on when you drop it off, could be 3-4 days, could be 6-7 days", so we asked for a time where it could be done in 3-4 days, understanding it could be a little more, he said bring it to me in a week, so we did. Ten days later we were notified it was done and we could pick it up. 10 days, not 3-4 or even 6 or 7, fine, we thought they must be doing an extra good job on it, so it's fine, we didn't call and complain at all. Apparently, any small and not critical trim pieces, like the one in the fender well and even the ones on the door, to protect the door edges, get removed and not replaced, with this particular "mid grade" paint job, Bill did not mention this. So, with that being said, the 1.5 hours to "fix" the trim hanging off was not to replace it, as we thought it would be, it was to just take that piece off, which, apparently, they were going to do anyways. We spoke to Bill about it, and even came back in, Bill claims there was also body damage there, which both my wife and I are very certain there was no more than scuffs. Bill also said he had a picture, but, interestingly enough, he only had pictures of the actual parts which had real damage or delaminated paint, he had not taken a picture of the front right bumper, as there was no damage. Consequently, in addition to not repairing the trim piece, as discussed, the inside edge of the fender wheel is also still damaged, not smooth at all. There was also damage caused to the plastic body side molding when they prepped the vehicle for painting. In addition, there are "dirt nibs" everywhere, I stopped counting at 50, and "fish eyes" which are sort of the opposite of dirt nibs, they resemble holes in the paint job more so than little bumps, like the dirt nibs. Bill advised he could fix the wheel fender and the side molding but the dirt nibs and fish eyes he says should be expected, he did not offer to fix those. He advised we would have to leave our car with him again, this time for "a day" , which we now know means 3-4 days, which I advised him I was uncomfortable with, given he seemed very angry that I wasn't happy with what I got. I advised it would be hard to trust him, given his angry disposition along with the fact that we already felt tricked or lied to about the "fixing" of our front wheel trim piece. I asked him to instead refund whatever amount of money it would cost him to repair the car, hell, I told him even $20 would be acceptable, as it was more about principle than the money, he refused and told me "we don't give any money back". Finally, I asked him how he was going to respond to a review I may post for his shop, he replied, "I don't respond to negative reviews, I have 500 reviews and four and a half stars", so I guess Bill does not care about customer satisfaction, nice! There is another Maaco in Union, NJ, I called and discussed the matter with them. They advised a shop and or equipment that is not kept clean according to a strict schedule would cause the dirt nibs, and that they do discuss that with this level of service, there can be some dirt nibs, but industry standards typically dictate more than a few dirt nibs per panel should be addressed and corrected, even with this "mid" grade service. I will be bringing our car to their location to correct the sloppy work performed here. I've attached some but not all (as there is a limit) pictures, so anyone who goes here knows what to expect.

Then one day I woke up and I said let me look some more. I actually use which linked me to NVS Audio. So I decided to take a ride down to the shop and talk to the people there. One of the other reviews are correct. I walked in there and nobody gave me the time of day at first. And I don't blame they into their builds on bikes and other sport . At first, I was a little taken, but then as I watch what they were doing, I understood what kind I was in. These guys are and don't stop till they get it right 100%. So I met Carlos and he came out to my the passenger asked me to turn on my stereo and said OK what do you want? Which I thought was great. He didn't come out and try to sell me something or he didn't try and tell me what I needed. He asked me what I described to him how I like sound and what I'm looking to hear. He said OK I'm gonna get back to you. little bit of time maybe a week or two he finally sent me a build. I was taking a back a bit because I used ChatGPT to put in the specifications I wanted and how much money I wanted to spend. When Carlos sent me the bill sheet, it was a little bit more equipment, wise and what I put into ChatGPT. I had a conversation with him about it, and he explained each component what it would do and I was over the top with excitement. And just for shits and giggles I put in his specifications into ChatGPT and ChatGPT came back and said exactly what Carlos said about what the additional equipment is do. So in my opinion, I had two opinions, a professional, and AI so I went with the professional. I picked up my car today and I can't wipe the big smile and grin off my face. I brought some lossless disco files on a thumb drive to listen to. Kyle, the gentleman who tuned the DSP with his computer, sat in the passenger seat as I played and he tuned the system. Again, these guys were giving me what I wanted, they weren't trying to sell me what they think I needed. And to a major factor when you're spend big money on a stereo and my hat goes off to Jason as he did a lot of the grunt work on the car. So between Carlos, Jason and Kyle they were a dream that made my dream come true. You know in the beginning when I a little bit about his skill set, and I did that professionally, he said he did these before. I had no other choice, but to believe him I wasn't gonna ask for proof... Lol that would've been a little too much anyway again I got my car back today and I could do nothing but hug Carlos and the and thank them so much.

He then suggested that I come down to the shop where he felt it best that I see the various products in person and discuss things in further detail. Everything was done in a professional manner, discussing the pros and cons of each option. I was allowed to decide exactly what system I wanted in my own time without any high-pressured salesmanship. I felt that I could have walked out without purchasing anything and it wouldn't have mattered. Once we decided on a system, it was determined that Jay was going to have to write some custom software to meet our specific goals. That said, the vehicle would have to be there for at least a full day as we didn't know what issues may pop up due to the rewrite and we didn't want to add the pressure of a time constraint. We wanted to be sure to get the job right the first time. Jay totally worked around my schedule ensuring that I wouldn't be inconvenienced more than necessary. Sure enough, Jay finished the job on time, and everything worked perfectly. Not to mention the respect that he showed my vehicle. It was practically ripped apart inside but you couldn't tell that it was even worked on. I have done my fair share of installs, and I know the work involved; especially with something this extensive. When it was time to pick up my vehicle, Jay stayed way past closing time demonstrating the system and explaining everything in great detail. He wanted to be sure that I understood everything completely and made sure that I had his cell number in case I ran into any issues afterwards. I was told to call anytime with any questions or concerns. All in all, it was not an inexpensive project. However, when you factor in that you're trying to protect something you own that is attractive to thieves, the fact that you got a custom system tailor made for you, and all the time and attention that went into the project, it was a tremendous value. Anyone could have just thrown in any generic system and let me be on my way. Instead, Jay listened to my needs, came up with a comprehensive solution and I now rest a bit easier knowing my vehicle is protected. Especially since I hear more and more how 392s are disappearing. I spent 3 hours there when I could have brought the car to them during the week and they could have kept it the entire day. Went there at 10:00 and didnt leave until about 1:30. My whole day was shot. There is this stupid mook girl with multi colored hair who wont tell you what the problem is. They went to the side to discuss what the problem is and will not communicate with you and you wind up wasting precious time. They keep you there longer than what they need to because they want to lose business. I was really upset with them. They need to communicate with you so you will know what the problem is. Not keep you there for 3-4 hours. I would have given them the business but do not hold me up. Then they tell me they have Zelle when then the cash machine next door exceeded the limit I was able to withdraw. They do good reliable work. They just need to communicate so you know the time you are up against. Dont hold you captive and say nothing;. If I were not going to go back there, that is the only issue that I had with them.
