Store has a good selection and Jim is really knowledgeable. Even more importantly, he's always fair and treats his customers as well.

Good reeds and is helpful when you don't know a lot about instruments. And isn't just after the money

Clean, Professional, and well stocked, oh, did I mention great service?…read more This place is a treasure trove of musical items. Not only was the attendant helpful she asked to see my id when I used my credit card, which I value very much.

I can't even begin to say how horrible this company is. They are not a military friendly, have…read morehorrible customer service and do not care about their customers at all. We rented our son's musical instrument in New York and then moved to Virginia. We went to this store in VA to return the instrument in August since my son decided on a different elective. I was told from Maggie based in their system we only had 1 more month to pay on it and it was ours. So I took it back home. We still were getting charged monthly. When I called 1800 customer service number, I was informed by representative Carlos based on their system New York and New Jersey are the only states that rent monthly NOT rent to own so I was continuing to be charged. I asked for reimbursement and was told he couldn't do anything and a supervisor will call me. Supervisor Ana called me back 5 days later and I was told the only thing I could do was return the instrument to not get charged anymore. I escalated it to a higher level supervisor who again didn't call back for a week, while I returned the instrument that day in store. Maggie and Chris were in the store and they apologized and stated they couldn't do anything and to continue with the 1800 number. When I called to determine the status of my case, I was told I didn't have authorization as it was under my husband's name and he had to call. I gave the representative, Carlos my case number and supervisor Ana's name and magically I could speak about the incident. Hence the reason for this review! Congratulations Music and Arts you received a $200 donation from us, but we will recommend ALL of our friends and any MILITARY people to NOT use your company. It is a shame there is no military clause! I still do not understand how the store's system is DIFFERENT than the customer service system? Remember people, document everything (date, time, personnel you spoke to) because it matters.

My son looks forward to coming every week. Ms. Adrian is patient and thorough. He really enjoys…read moreplaying the piano. The only critique is the place itself is old and dated. It has a bit of a smell that they try to cover up with wall plug ins. I would recommend!

I took my son here originally for drum lessons and he had a great time with his teacher. I came…read moreback after that for a vocal lesson and scheduled my son another drum lesson. It was at this point the owner started trying to force a month to month contract on me after 1 lesson. I explained that my son's grandfather is very sick with stage 4 pancreatic cancer and that we can't guarantee we will be in town every week since we have been visiting him more ( almost weekly ). The owner seemed unsympathetic to this and continued to debate and argue about getting his contract signed. After that, I considered not coming back because I didn't want to give this man any more of my money, however I had really enjoyed my 1 vocal lesson and my son also enjoyed his drum lesson, so I asked if I could pay for another vocal lesson in advance to which he begrudgingly agreed. I explained to him that I would be happy to pay for our lessons a week in advance when we knew we were going to be in town. However that wasn't good enough for him and he insisted on locking me in a monthly contract, and that I would have to next time I came. My son's second drum lesson was great ( yesterday ) and I had my 3rd vocal lesson today which was lovely. Unfortunately, when I came around the corner to the front desk, the owner was waiting for me with a posture and look on his face that said he was ready to argue. Great way to greet a customer upon seeing them. He immediately asked me what I had decided about his contract, to which I declined to sign it and offered to pay for another vocal lesson a week in advance since I know I will be in town next week. He debated me again and said that I couldn't do that and tried to argue that rules are rules, which is just silly in this case. Most of his arguments were based around people in the past not showing up for lessons and them losing money since they would have teachers there still getting paid. However, if someone is paying you a week in advance for an upcoming lesson, you're guaranteed that person is going to show or at least to have their money for the lesson already. In the end though, it is his business and he can make up whatever obscure and silly rules he wants. Just know, that after your 1st lesson they're going to try and force a month to month contract on you and make you lock in a time for every week. Personally, I'll be taking my business and my money elsewhere.
