Her internal bleeding went undiagnosed for about eight hours despite glaring signs. Once imaging was finally ordered and active internal bleeding was confirmed, surgery was delayed for roughly seven more hours. In the meantime, the doctor ordered mass blood transfusion in an improper way that worsened her condition instead of stabilizing her, while failing to move the central line that was improperly placed and that the radiologist recommended be repositioned. HCA Healthcare has faced no consequences, and there is no way for people researching physicians through the Florida Department of Health (DOH), the medical licensing board, to see what happened to my daughter. Because she was 25, unmarried, and had no children, Florida's 'Free Kill' law strategically blocked me from pursuing legal recourse to ensure the hospital and its physicians are held accountable so the harm does not continue. We arrived first thing in the morning and went through security who directed us to where we needed to be. Once upstairs, I signed in and waited till I was called and then did the rest of the check-in. It was just a short wait before they called me and back and started getting things ready. I ended up waiting about three hours for my turn in the rotation and once they got me in everything went pretty quick they already had IV set in my arm and shaved the area they would be working on. I was awake for the procedure, but I was medicated and I got to watch part of it on the big screen of the doctor was using. The whole team did a great job and was professional throughout. Everything went really well and then I was sent for postop. I did spend a lot more time there than I thought I would, but there were things they had to be sure of, and the doctor had to sign off on my release at the end. The nursing staff kept me pretty well informed and checked on me continuously while I was there. When it was time to go, they went over all the care and procedures I would need and provided me with paperwork to cover everything. They also sent my new prescriptions to my pharmacy. If you needed an outpatient heart procedure here I can genuinely recommend them. I hope I don't have to come back for anything, but if I do, I know I will be well cared for.

The staff has zero empathy for the people they are there to take care of. I was unable to sit in the chairs due to back issues and asked if I could lay in my car and was told once I was out the doors I would not be seen. Then I asked if there was somewhere I could lay down and I was told to pull the hard chairs together. The man at the desk could have cared less about how he treated people. I was in tears with pain and was met with sarcasm and zero concern. I left and went to AdventHealth ER on Cypress Gardens and was met with empathy and was in a room within minutes of arriving. I have never had a good experience at Winter Haven hospital and now that there is another ER option I will never go back. I recommend that no one with real pain go there. You'll sit forever and no one cares about you at all.

Hands down, Dr. Brian Green is the very best Doctor at Bay Care Family Medicine! His excellence in interpersonal skills is a breath of fresh air. Each time I see him I find his demeanor to be super calming. Waiting times aren't bad at all. His extensive medical knowledge is surpassed by the individual care and attention he gives to each one of his patients. He's hardworking and ALWAYS gives his FULL ATTENTION to the concerns of every single patient that I've seen him interact with. One simply cannot help but to admire Dr. Green's work ethic. He's an AMAZINGLY CARING and down to earth M.D. I never feel rushed as he sits and walks me thru some of the most frightening times of my life. Always showing so much empathy and compassion causing me to see a light at the end of a very dark tunnel...Attentively he listens to all of my concerns and gives me a general sense of "knowing" that he's there for me in the most supportive of ways. Our community is a better place because of this man. He's very sharp and on the ball, yet nurturing with a sweet respectful sense of humor. I can feel his sincerity as he communicates to me heart to heart which means the world to me. Dr. Brian Green has an uncanny ability to turn my teary eyed face into a smiling one. He's certainly a HALL OF FAME DOCTOR. It's extremely easy for me to imagine him as a King's private doctor (He's that great) YET, here he is dedicating his time for me and our community. The most wonderful doctor ever! Thank you Dr. Green for all the sacrifices you have made to be who you are today. I'd also like to thank your loved ones for their sacrifices as well. Thank you for choosing to get up every day to attend to us. I know you care, as I can feel it...this job isn't just a paycheck to you but a Divine Calling and it shines thru every single thing you do! Truly Truly I am so very grateful that you are my Primary Care Physician. Respectfully, Renee M. W

My opinion and experience only…read more My followup appointment was at the offices at 198 Ave B NW, Winter Haven FL with Dr. Christopher Miller, MD or Ms. Bobbie Skukowski, ARNP - I never really knew until I got there which would be taking my appointment. The office seems be in Chaos. My appointment was canceled, then rescheduled twice (three time really, but one was for Hurricane Michael). The automated system called to reconfirm and I reconfirmed with the computer. When I showed up, my appointment had once again been canceled and there was nobody there to see me. I'd done blood almost two months prior and had not seen a copy. So, I asked if I could at least have a copy of my lab results. They were provided. I was told I'd receive an appointment sheet and blood draw order in the mail for a new appointment in four months. Four months? I hadn't even seen anyone for the current appointment. The paperwork for the appointment and new lab draw never showed up in the mail. So, I have no idea if I have an appointment in four months or not. Even if they had made the appointment, I would have no blood draw from them. Further, I needed refills on prescriptions. Making sure my prescriptions were refilled was on my list to talk about. I'm sure I could have phoned and ask that the prescriptions be refilled. However I'm not looking for "doctor by phone messages". I came home and made an appointment to see my primary care and now am being treated with a new plan and new doctors that do not involve the Bond Clinic. My primary care addressed my prescription concerns and order a blood draw and followup. Your mileage my vary, but this is my experience.
