Rather than order thousands of dollars on a dozen tests, he singles out only what he knows is necessary. Next, when my cattle dog was having incontinence problems, he did an in-house sonogram and we didn't have to wait over the weekend for a tech to read/see the results (unlike my daughter's Vet who left her dog to suffer--and die--until someone could relay the results three days later). He told me the results and pointed out what he saw on the screen. Needless to say, his office is very well equipped and he has the best office staff ever! They are caring, competent and efficient. In reference to a previous review from Mar 18, 2026: I don't know what happened that day, but there must have been some kind of an emergency. I highly recommend this clinic & Dr Abbie Reidhead and her staff for any veterinary needs…read more We were passing through town (2 night stay) on an extended vacation. My 12-year old Shih Tzu was dehydrated from vomiting & diarrhea; she was scared & so sick when they admitted her. It was a weekend yet I received updates every few hours; my calls to check on her were returned promptly; & I was allowed to visit her. Dr Abbie & her staff provided excellent medical attention and were so caring and gentle in order to calm her. At discharge, Dausy was happy & alert - and I had detailed instructions for aftercare. Great place; excellent resource.

Dr. Scudder is a brilliant diagnostician, has a state of the art facility, is kind and calm in his demeanor, and his staff is highly skilled, very attentive, and compassionate. We recently lost our 18-year-old dog who had been a patient of The Village Vet for years. Her quality of life was extended longer than we could expect. We recently lost her due to an unrecoverable condition and Dr. Scudder and his entire staff made us feel like we were the only patients in the clinic as we made the choice to let our baby go and through the entire process. We felt like we were in the arms of family. There's nothing good about losing your family member dog, but there's everything good about putting your trust in Dr. Scudder and his exceptional staff. If there was a way to make this scenario better, they found a way to do that, babying our beautiful dog, cuddling her into blankets, providing a space for us to say goodbye, and giving us all the time we needed. I highly recommend Dr. Scudder, Dr. Kashon, all the vets and vet techs at this Hospital. There are no better hands in the Verde Valley.
