Lan explained how my body structure is not built for standard "rack" suits like the stores sell. You can't tailor them enough to make it fit right. Lan took about 4X the number of measurements as my previous tailors, including new measurements that I've never seen other tailors take. She measures multiple times, multiple angles. She has family knowledge of this business that runs deep. Her Advice: Lan was an amazing source of advice on colors, fabrics, styles, options, etc. This was my first tuxedo purchase for daughter's wedding, so I needed a lot of advice. She also helped me pick a sport coat (incredible Italian blue checkered) that everyone loves, plus some custom pants and shirts. Result: Everything fit perfectly for me, and looked sharp! The materials were high quality. Having suits that looks sharp helps increase your confidence as well for important business functions. Lan even teaches you how to take care of them properly. My goal is to slowly replace my closet with a smaller number of gorgeous, custom fit clothes. What good is having 7 suits if none of them fit properly? I'd rather have one or two custom and donate the rest. Same with sport coats and slacks. Professionalism: Lan is the most professional service provider we've ever experienced. She is accommodating, and comes to your house to do the fittings, which is so convenient. She made my wife so happy too, providing great advice on how I can complement her wedding attire as mother of the bride. She even found the perfect color unique fabric to hand craft a bow tie to match my wife's dress. I could go on and on. Do yourself a favor and hire Lan to do the job right. Stop wasting money on big store bought "rack" suits that don't fit. The only thing you will regret is not doing it sooner!

I have been buying suits for 25+ years and have never had a suit fit "right". I am FAR from an…read moreoff-the-rack build, but I have even tried some of the large retailers' (Men's Wearhouse, Jos Bank, Suit Supply) "custom" suits...and while I have paid "custom" prices, I have never until now had an actual perfect custom suit. I found JT Vinson back when I lived in Gainesville. I searched online for a true custom suit shop anywhere within driving distance (as there are none in Gainesville). I read some great reviews and saw that several UF coaches have used JT Vinson for years, so I figured that when it was time for my next suit, I would give them a try. I started with just a Sport Coat to test the waters. The fit was absolute perfection. So 2 Sport Coats and 4 suits later, I could not be happier with JT Vinson. I have worked with Wilshem, Cody and Alan (the owner) and they all are true professionals with an eye for knowing exactly how a suit should fit your specific frame. In an average suit fitting, they take about 6 measurements (chest, waist, arm length, neck, torso length, inseam). At JT Vinson they took about 20+ very specific (quad, calf and wrist circumferences just to name a few) measurements and it shows in the final product. The customer service is above and beyond what I am used to, but exactly what one hopes for at a high-end clothier and also exactly what will keep me coming back for years to come. Throughout the process there was one item that didn't fit "just right." Alan (owner) happened to be standing there when I was in trying it on. The type of alteration that would have been required would have thrown off some of the other measurements, so instead of trying to cut corners and just "make it work", Alan advised that they would send it back and have it completely re-made.That's the type of perfection I want in my "custom" clothier! And that is also what has already made me a repeat customer. These guys have an eye for fashion and can create a perfect suit for any body type. I am 6'2" with a very athletic build. I have a very large drop from my shoulders / chest to my waist and I have been told for years, "That's as good as it's gonna get," or "We can't alter it any further." And the result has been boxy looking suits. If you want gorgeous, custom suits / shirts / blazers / that fit the way suits are supposed to fit...this is the place to go!

After having custom made clothing every year for a work event (different tailors depending on the…read morecity we live in) this experience was so poor I would never recommend JT Vinson/Hipp clothing. Around June of 2022 my husband and I came in to have suits and shirts made for a work event in September. After picking everything out and eager for it's arrival I brought in a couple items to be altered. July 14 we picked up those 3 items which were altered beautifully and paid for them. After being told it would take a month for our items to come in we return September 2nd but ONLY to pick up my husbands shirts and a pair of pants and pay for almost all of the balance. Well every single shirt was made with the incorrect measurements, and were completely unwearable. But we had no choice as we had already paid for them and had to fly out for our work event September 4th. He had to make it work by hiding the ugly fitting shirts under blazers. Meanwhile I still didn't have my 2 shirts, my 2 suits, my husbands blazer and all hjs shirts had to be remade. October 22nd 2022 Kim sends us an email saying "I have your shirts here and Seth's remade shirts" Well I no longer needed them but we had already paid so I had her mail them to us. My husbands shirts STILL didn't fit. Now instead of tight arms and large waist they made the arms huge and the waist tiny. I emailed every month until November 7, 2022 Kim responded with "Yes the fabric has arrived at the workroom, and the green suit is in production, I will do my best to get it to you for the Thanksgiving holiday.  Thanks for your patience, I appreciate it and will give you a shout when I have the tracking number.  The other suit fabric has not yet come back into stock nor has the sport coat for Seth, let me know if you'd like to coordinate another outfit or I'm happy to look for a similar fabric for you both. Thanks again, I'm looking forward to seeing this suit on you! " Seems great, I thought "Eh not much she can control since the fabric was out of stock but alright I'll wait a little longer maybe I can wear it for the holidays" November 23rd I received a message saying "It looks fantastic, I took a photo, it's so fun! Unfortunately it's not going to fit you, the workroom mixed up your measurements, very disappointing. You've been so patient, thank you!" Finally in December 2022 I receive a box that contains my husbands remade shirts and my two blouses. It's now January 2023 and Kim emails "Your pants arrived yesterday and anticipate the jacket very soon, cannot wait to see it on you!!" I mentioned how I needed it before February 5th and told her to cancel my other suit and shirts, my husbands blazer and I would settle up on the payment. Weeks go by and no response. Finally February 26th she emails me how sorry she was, sends me the payment link and hopes I accept her apologies, this is probably the 12th apology and now it's becoming a pattern. Keep in mind we already paid over 3k and owed $435 plus tax for the remaining of my green suit But Kimberly decided to charge my card without my authorization for $1,021. Thankfully I had it locked and now I was furious. - 1 Suit 7 months late: had to be remade - 1 Suit never made ; 1 suit jacket not made - 6 items 4 months late - Almost every item needing to be remade - Improper calculation of our payments (hand written) - Non authorized charge of my card - Lack of response - Constant apologies without any action to back it up - Now a portion of my payment is held up I understand a supplier being out. However I don't appreciate the commitment to "yes we can get that on time, please pay us" and then there is no follow through. While I enjoy Kimberly's upbeat personality and passion for clothing I can not express What a terrible experience we had. No after going through my bank account I notice I paid for at least half of the suit!! After emailing them about this experience and requesting a refund for the over payment or the suit jacket I was met with no response. I followed up daily and still have not received a response.

Wasn't sure if anywhere would be able to get it done within my timeframe (same-day and needed it that day), but they were able to work with me!
