I recently bought my dress from Winnie Couture just last week (July 2025)! Pros: -there are a lot of beautiful dresses there. -They are similar in design but all really lovely. They provide a nice seated area for you and your family/friends to come in and shop with you. -You are allowed to try on a handful of dresses and as you come out to show your people the dress you are on a small elevated platform which helps them see and basque in the beauty. Cons: -No mirrors in the fitting room. They said this is for your benefit, but the problem is they clamp you into the dress and so you are not able to see the back of the dress ever. I wanted to low back dress and was told it was as low as I was wanting, but I never was able to see it. - Disappointed in their lack of integrity, specially Alyssa who was supposed to help me. - Dishonest sales representatives. I get that there is a quota in sales, but for a bride who is excited about dress shopping- we are an easy target to take advantage of when they don't think about the person first and it's all about the sale. -At the Selwyn location, Alyssa Thao was the sales rep who sold me my dress. She essentially upsold me (without my knowledge) into buy shoulder straps by never showing me the complete dress which ALREADY INCLUDED STRAPS! She was extremely dishonest which was a shame since she seemed so nice. When confronting her about it when picking up the dress, the only response was that it was sitting on a table where it was visible to me. And that it was my fault for not noticing it. - I told management of the dishonest sale and they kept brushing past it. They never admitted fault and said they needed to push things up to corporate (you cannot contact them yourself) to return the straps that I never even left the store with. OVERALL: DON'T BUY HERE. Don't let the glowing reviews fool you. Remember it's your big day to go dress shopping, don't let the excitement blind side you to the fact that these people will do whatever they can do to get the dress out of the store as fast as they can... A fully refund was never issued and now I have to go through additional measures to get it back. Throughly disappointed in their lack of integrity. read more

Even though I did not find my wedding dress here, the experience and service were exceptional. My stylist was very nice and pleasant. She was detail-oriented, listened to what I was looking for, and provided what she thought would align. They have beautiful dresses and a large selection. The entire appointment was held with class. There was no pressure to purchase, no body shaming, and there was a bit of intimacy created by being the only one present during the time. I left with a folder and some of the styles I liked the best. It was truly a great experience. read more

My bridal consultant was so knowledgeable and personable and really felt genuine on getting to know me in order to match me with the right dress. Honestly didn't feel like just another bride to be! I got the best bridal shopping experience here. Even after traveling to Atlanta to meet with other stylists, I realized that I found the best dress for me here. I booked online and paid $25 to secure my spot. The consultant followed up the next morning to plan my visit. There are lots of dresses to choose from i. The boutique. The stylist, Madison, did a great job of recommending styles for me to try on when I arrived. I was pleasantly surprised by every single dress I tried on. She did a really good job of clipping me, so I could really have an idea of what I'd look like on my big day. Aside from the great customer service, champagne is flowing. Great location with easy parking. When I came in with my family, they gave us VIP treatment. I loved that we were the only ones shopping during my appointments. We had the BEST time at Winnie couture today! Kendyl Warren was so amazing and helpful! She listened to exactly what I needed and helped me find the perfect dress! We were able to have the entire shop to ourselves and it felt so exclusive we did not feel pressured at all to buy anything...this is what I was looking for! Gorgeous dresses! WOW this place is beautiful! I was "chosen" to go wedding dress shopping with my best friend on Saturday. Winnie Couture was our third and last stop, and it was by far the best! When we entered we were greeted by a very nice lady. She asked the normal bridal questions and made us feel welcome by providing champagne. Next, we walked from the front, down a hallway, and to the back where the bridal gowns were. It was amazing how the store opened up once we got back there. We looked around and immediately knew that we were going to find a dress. However, we weren't too sure if it would be affordable. From the looks of it, everything was luxurious and just perfect. It was very apparent that the decorations and presentation were professionally done. The coworkers were very helpful. Everything that my friend tried on, she would get compliments from them. It was hard to choose one because everything looked good on her. At one point the bride brought us to tears when she tried on the "perfect" dress. Although she didn't choose a dress, I am certain that we will be back with the rest of the family in the near future. We narrowed it down to three very different dresses and couldn't be happier with the service that we received. Liked my daughters dress (wedding was in 2016 but Winnie Couture popped up on my feed so I decided to vent after 2 years). HOWEVER...don't fall for any custom "sizing" like length. They upcharge you with a promise that you would not need to shorten the dress. I even ask if they take into account the torso length so that the bodice/belt hits the right spots and they said "yes of course" since they took many measurements. In the end you still have to spend $$$ to adjust skirt length and possibly bodice/waist lengths. My daughter was measured in detail yet when the dress arrived 6 months later the waist was way too low and the skirt part super long. They justified that it will sit higher when the waist is taken in. This did not work. The bodice could not be raised up enough to bring the sewn in belt/waistline up properly. Seamstress had to deconstruct the dress: remove the sewn in belt, and remove the lace at bottom to shorten skirt (could not be shortened from waist) then reattach the lace. Fortunately the fabric took these changes well. Our beef was that we PAID for the skirt and bodice/waistline to be custom and expected they would be the correct lengths. We realized we ended up with a production dress that was same as the sample she tried on. Bottom line is: do not pay extra for custom anything. You will have to do it again and pay again. read more

I have nothing but great things to say about Winnie Couture off Selwyn Ave. Let me preface by saying that I am not a girl who loves to shop, I would much rather order online. I have an athletic build with broad shoulders, and after visiting several boutiques in Charlotte and trying on (what felt like) the same dress over and over again, I did not think I would find anything to make me look (and feel) feminine. When I walked into Winnie Couture, I was quick to change my mindset. There were so many different gowns with numerous intricate details, which made each beautiful dress unique. My bridal stylist, Amber, was extremely helpful! She pulled dresses off the rack I would have never tried on had I been without her. After trying on several different styles, I was able to narrow it down and told her I didn't know exactly what I wanted, but I knew what I didn't want. She took my next-to-nothing vision and found the perfect gown! She was positive and enthusiastic, yet not pushy, which added to the overall exceptional experience. Before and after getting engaged I had passed this bridal shop on many occasions and promised myself I would make this one of my first stops. Upon shopping around and making appointments for my first dress shopping experience I chose not to go to Winnie as I heard they were likely out of my budget and could be very "pushy". I visited (2) bridal shops in the surrounding area (Cornelius) on a Saturday and thought I found my dress but wasn't over the moon excited about my choice(s). Determined not to end my experience in one weekend, I looked around for bridal shops opened on Sunday and decided to visit Winnie. Afraid my experience wasn't going to be so great being that I had no appointment, my mom and I decided to go anyway (we had our minds set that we were just looking and not going to find anything). We were greeted and welcomed with 2 glasses of champagne and a standard bridal questionnaire. Everyone was so welcoming. The salon was pretty quiet since it was a Sunday which I was excited about and they were happy to take me right then. I was linked with Amber as my bridal associate. Sipping champagne, we shopped the bridal floor as Amber pulled a few options within my price range. Still convinced I wasn't going to find anything, I was just enjoying the moment of shopping. After trying on about 3-5 gowns, there was just something about the very first one I tried on! Low and behold, that ended up being my gown and my face showed it all! So did all the Winnie associates and my mom! I see why the name COUTURE is branded within this store! My experience was the best of my entire weekend, very personal and everything I imagined dress shopping would be like!!! No one was pushy and they even suggested my mom and I take some time to go grab lunch and come back, no rushed decisions. This is definitely a "posh" bridal boutique. Although I did not experience the best customer service the first time I went, I was left waiting for quite sometime and in the front of the store there is not enough seating for your party, the consultants only agree with whatever you say rather then giving you expert advice; however, my follow-up appointment was much better. I have to say, the sample sizes for many of the dresses are small for the average woman, and thus you really can't try very many. In addition, the "extra" charges and fees they assess really made my decision to go elsewhere. i would recommend this boutique for any brides that already know what they want and aren't really looking for "help" in choosing a dress. read more

Amber sat down with me and my family and took time to learn about my taste. She insisted that I try one of every style and fit so I would have no regrets. I was looking for a very specific style and was somewhat defeated in what I had seen in other appointments prior in Charlotte. My experience with Winnie Couture could not have been better! I had done a lot of research online (Pinterest) and magazines, but still wasn't really sure what I wanted. Being able to look at dresses before my appointment was SO helpful and the store is amazing - so beautiful, comfortable, and clean. Amber was my stylist and I'm so thankful - she was perfect. She was polite, patient, and helpful without being pushy. I came with a crowd of 7 people and she was so friendly and welcoming! She's got a great intuition about her- after watching/listening to me during the first few dresses I tried on, she totally got me. She goes out of her way - getting down on the ground and kneeling to turn or fold the train so I can really "see" what the style would look like. Even though Amber was my stylist, the other girls in the shop that day were equally as friendly - becoming engaged in my session without overwhelming me with too many people. Winnie was only the second store I went to and I left to check out FIVE other places - mostly because I felt bad my friends and family traveled in for this fun shopping day and it was going to end with me selecting my dress so early. Amber was so kind to us. At the end of the day - nothing compared ... I saw great dresses, but not "my" dress and we definitely didn't have the experience of Winnie at any other shops. Maiya at Winnie Couture is AMAZING!! She was very organized and detailed oriented. She explained my options very well and I didn't feel rushed. I even tried on my two favorites twice. I had a great group with me and she made sure everyone was included and taken care of. She is very attentive and good at what she does. Hands down this was THE BEST dress shopping experience I've had. I went to one store prior to and one store after just to make sure and again hands down the other experiences didn't compare. Being a first time bride I was nervous that I would have no clue as to what I would like or what world look good on my shape. Maiya helped me out so much and made my experience very simple and fun.
