I wasn't impressed with the service received here by a friend, a bride-to-be, when we visited Winnie Bridal. They serve only customers who have made an appointment, I repeat its APPOINTMENT ONLY. We came in without an appointment and although there was no one else in the store and four assistants who seemed fairly unoccupied, they completely ignored us other than to tell us quite rudely that they don't help anyone without an appointment. Although they have some nice designs and are one of the only places around Brisbane that make custom designed dresses, we refused to go back simply on the basis of how rudely we were treated the first time. read more

Had travelled to Brisbane for a wedding... left a dress at home. My sister and I flew down to Brisbane for my cousin's wedding, and in the rush between packing, I had left behind the dress I planned to wear to the wedding (as a guest). It was a rather formally dressed wedding, so we had a mad rush around Brisbane all day trying to find a formal gown and we came across this shop. The service I received from Winnie and the team was absolutely amazing! We literally stumbled into the shop - had no idea it even existed, and almost walked straight out because I thought it was only bridal gowns. The lovely gentleman greeted us though and encouraged us to come in when I advised that I was looking for a formal gown and showed us the full range they had to offer. Each of the designs were all made by Winnie herself, and were all unique. After a couple of dresses, I found one which was perfect - no alterations required! I am so happy with my dress and the service I received. I recently got engaged, and I'm planning on flying back down to Brisbane just to go to their store again because of the service we got. I can't say a bad word about winnie bridal. I walked in and was looked after straight away by a staff member with no appointment. I came back another two times before finally deciding on a dress (I purchased another but ended up with severe dress regret from another store) I was measured a few months out from wedding and the attention to detail amazing. I picked my dress up Thursday, absolutely beautiful and even though I changed my shoes and it had to be altered again Winnie proved it was no problem at all. I was shown how to walk, how to hold bouquet, do up dress and talked about dress care on the big day. Can't wait to wear my dress on the day!! read more

Disgusting business practices, THEY STOLE $500 and I got nothing for it. I really liked a dress so put a tentative deposit down on it. I thought about it later and decided I couldn't afford it with all the other wedding costs and called up LESS THAN 48HRS later to cancel the order. They refused to give me anything back and told me they had started cutting the fabric.....which is obviously a lie as no measurements had been taken. I am appalled and would never recommend this maker to any bride. We are brides not people who deserve to be ripped off. Weddings are expensive enough! read more

The worst service ever! My fiance and I walked into this store to check out the gowns. The sales man was pushy, didn't give us much time to look and basically didn't want to deal with us. He would not let me try on any dresses understandable if I didn't make an appointment but to add insult he said "You're too tiny, no point on trying on this dress.. You will only drag it on the floor and not see anything. Oh that dress would not suit you, oh not that one". WHAT??? I was so ticked off that I said "If you don't let me try on any dresses how would I know what style will fit me?" He was like just pick a dress, I will get it fitted for you within 3 days..??? Seriously the price is an average of $3000 plus, and with that type of service and degrading remarks about me no thanks! I'll take my business else where! read more

Don't purchase bridesmaid dresses from this store!! I purchased 3 bridesmaid dresses from this store for around $240 each and the quality was absolutely shocking. The dresses nearly ruined my day. On the morning of my wedding when the girls put the dresses on, the zip immediately broke on one of the dresses (it was not overly tight). I had to spend the next 2 hours searching for someone to do immediate repairs on a Sat morning. The drama just continued all day with stitching coming undone and also the diamonte belt which was attached around the waist coming unstuck on one of the dresses and ended up looking terrible in my photos. I have since contacted Winnie Bridal with a complaint but they chose not to bother to respond. The service i received from the male owner of the store on the day of purchase was also shocking. He told one of my friends that she shouldnt have lunch that day as she was already overweight. FINALLY, they charged me for extra fabric on one of the dresses as one of my bridesmaids has a large bust and when we received the dress (apparenty made to order) the bust was miles too large and i had to pay to have it altered smaller! I was initially welcomed by Winnie Bridal - even without an appointment. I selected a dress to have custom made at a cost of $4,500.00 with specific instructions regarding the shape of the dress which was the most important factor to me. The sketch provided was perfect. I paid a deposit and waited several months for production to complete. Upon trying on my 'made to measure' dress for the first time, I expressed many concerns to the staff and designer as the dress was ill fitting and the wrong shape. I was told to stand up straight and not move my arms.. I had about a 1 inch gap between the dress and my bust which they agreed to fix at a cost. My other issues were disregarded with staff telling me there was nothing wrong with the dress. After several visits to the store, emails and phone calls requesting the original design, I have been advised to take legal action for my refusal to pay the balance - after $3,500 in payments for a dress that I have ultimately had to replace. I would warn any brides to steer clear of Winnie Bridal - My research has since shown, my case is not unique. Approach with extreme caution!! read more
