Turbine is bringing high fashion to Atlantic Canada in a way that will entice fickle fashionistas and budget shoppers alike. With some stunning pieces available for $50 (I'm thinking specifically about the signature Turbine belt), it's all about the accessible accessories! They don't have menswear so I didn't dive too deep into the product but the store is gorgeous, dynamic and fun to shop in whether you're looking for something specific, or just appreciate beautiful things. So believe me when I tell you, I know a good thrift store when I see one. This place could be a 5 star location if it had a better shoe and bag section. You can tell these two sections are always small, not a lot of space was designated for them. I was so excited to visit a Frenchy's.. A true Frenchy's close to home. I had amazing luck in the sweater department, and honestly it's where I concentrated most of my searching. So I can't tell you how good the shirts or skirt bins where. As you can see from my photos, I found many of my favourite brand names. I was pumped! I went through the dresses and jackets, but came up empty handed. The selection was there, lots to choose from, just nothing to my taste. The store is large enough to keep me coming back. Although it's close, it's not that close. A bit of a drive from downtown to lower Sackville, but I would say it's worth it. The upside is there is lots of parking, I also like that the price of the clothing is listed on the bin labels (see photos). The complete price list is in the fitting rooms Incase you're wondering. So it's natural to find a shop that caters to all things plaid from kilts to scarves and colors of Nova Scotia are reflected in its official tartan . Blue for the ocean, white for the surf, green for the forests, gold for the Royal Charter granted in 1621, and red for the Lion Rampant as seen in the Nova Scotia crest.. Wonderful reminders of a trip to Nova Scotia and this shop is ideally located in the heart of tourist Halifax - right in Privateers Wharf. And in case plaid is not your thing, what about a beautiful Irish hand knit sweater or Scottish pottery or Burns crystal to take home? They used to sell Haggis in a can, but apparently there are labeling issues and so...that's on hold for now.

I have been to several Ontario locations, everywhere from Barrie to Toronto to Bowmanville. The stores are always well-stocked, clean, and 100% volunteer-run (Read: sweet little old ladies and GREAT vintage finds). They don't have great hours, but again, volunteer run, and now that they're open late Thursdays (and Fridays in December!), I'm okay with them opening at 10AM. There is a whole small corner of the store dedicated to golf items, if you're into that sort of thing. They have a TON of books, and a lot of textiles, sheets, table cloths, etc, etc. I always find their small appliances, kitchen items and art to be the best parts of the store (for me). The clothing selection is surprisingly modern mixed with grandmas favourites.

Their selection of gear and equipment is nice as well, I noticed they carried most of the top brands available for my discipline. The staff are welcoming too. When I am looking for something at Laura's, my next stop is not Value Village. It was poor taste for her to suggest that I should to go to Value Village to find it there instead. She was a rude person. She was abrupt individual. If you buy Any item and you are treated well in the sales process, that item holds more value and a good memory of the sales experience.
