It is unclear to me what is going on here, since the location is not under new management. When we last went to JG, the food took over 45 minutes to get to the table despite that it wasn't busy. We also noticed one jr member of the cooking staff handle cooked bacon and other food items with his bare hands after handling raw foods. We alerted the staff to this as it is unsanitary. Second the shift manager took a 15min smoke break even as some customers berated other staff. While I understand the need for a break on shift, I think it is incumbent upon the manager to step up and lead the staff during what was a very difficult time. When I return to this location, I will update my negative review if the situation has improved.

I will start by saying that you need to get past the exterior of this restaurant and go inside and give it a try. If you were just driving or walking by, it looks like a bit of a dump from the outside. So, I was pleasantly surprised that the inside was much nicer and cute. The menu had tons of options to choose from. I was feeling under the weather, so I opted for a bowl of handmade noodle soup with chicken. It was really tasty. My only qualm is that the chicken was served with the skin on and attached to the bone. I realize this probably really helps the flavor of the soup, but it's a pain when you're trying to eat a bowl of soup and have to fish out pieces to eat with your hands. Also, the bones were jagged in some places and I got a bit fearful of accidentally swallowing chicken bone shrapnel by the end of my bowl. That said, it was really good overall. My husband was very pleased with his beef and vegetable dish and they spiced it almost to his liking (he likes things REALLY spicy). I would definitely return (probably wouldn't get the chicken soup again, but would maybe have the same dish with pork or beef instead). The noodles were great and I look forward to trying some of the other items. What is also great is that the prices are really quite fair and certainly there is a great value for your money here (large portions, low prices).

There are lovely stained glass lamp fixtures to give a little character to the otherwise fairly modern and clean black furniture. Now, I used to rank this as my second favorite Turkish place in town, but in recent visits, I think it may have traded places with my past favorite and top my list. My slight reservation in saying that is that I haven't had amazing food EVERY time (once got a Turkish ravioli that was so sub-par I left half of it) but the staples of this menu have been great each time (for example, the chicken shish). There is both indoor and outdoor seating, though honestly, I haven't eaten outdoors here. One thing to remember: keep your receipt if you parked in the Centre Place garage. You can get your parking ticket validated inside Centre Place for discounted parking if you spend more than $10.
