Wonderful clean rooms. I was in room 217. The beds were more comfortable than the Marriott. The staff was very accommodating and showed me the rooms before I booked. I loved the light clean fragrance in the rooms and the upscale free shampoo and conditioner, portico. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star instead of a 4 is because I didn't have options other than an apple because I cannot eat gluten. The plates were styrofoam and the breakfast sandwiches are microwaveable. You should never microwave or put hot food into styrofoam. I would have given it a 5 star if they had the traditional scrambled eggs, bacon sausage and waffles etc. Either way, I would stay here again. read more

We had a late check in and called ahead. They were very accommodating. There was free breakfast (scrambled eggs, sausage, yogurt, fresh whole fruit, grits, oatmeal,make your waffles, fresh juice- 4 kinds, biscuits,cereal) We also did a late check out- again very accommodating. The parking was a little troublesome since they are doing renovations. And the noise from the highway was loud. Overall, I would stay again. read more

First time stay at a Windgate By Wyndhan Hotel and I must say I'm impressed. My spotlessly clean suite room was equipped with a microwave and refrigerator. The furniture was a bit dated but clean and I enjoyed the work area and overstuffed chair/ottoman while watching the dated 27" hard tube TV. The staff member at check in was professional and friendly. Their lobby was bright and well furnished with a huge breakfast area with access to a well equipped outdoor pool area and sitting area with lounge chairs. Their morning breakfast was typical of most hotels but quit good and their coffee was very tasty. The hotel is located just off I-65 and has numerous eateries etc close by. I would look forward to another stay in the future. read more

Ok so I am just going to be completely honest!!!! I have stayed at this hotel NUMEROUS times and never had a complaint. However, after using my points and checking in to the hotel. I feel as though they gave me the crappiest room they have here. I never had a bad experience here. Until today. I checked into my room and I was immediately taken a back. In the bathroom the counter was all busted up and that all on the doors and the bed skirt all torn. I mean really? Did housekeeping by not check that? Really turned me away from this facility and will not be returning. They always have competing prices but if I am coming from out of town I'd like to be comfortable and not feel like things just were thrown together. I gave this hotel three stars because the checkin process is a breeze and the front desk always nice. The breakfast is good as well. I did not ask for another room because I was too tired and didn't feel like the hassle. read more

Staff was super nice. Room was comfortable & standard. Our bathroom door didn't latch shut or lock. Breakfast was jimmy dean breakfast sandwiches (microwave them yourself), but they were surprisingly good. There were also pancakes and cereal/fruit/yogurt etc. Would stay here again! read more

Stayed here for a tennis tournament. Room #307 Rooms were okay. Could pay more attention to cleanliness. Shower - please replace shower head. Breakfast : Styrofoam everywhere. Awful. When you add the half and half to the coffee it gets curdled. Happened twice. Breakfast is terrible. read more

3 Nights,July 16-18-2021 Our room 225 window view was horrible. The window seal was compromised by water damage. The window is very cloudy. The sheetrock above the window is peeling and stained. The drain pipe in the wall makes an annoying tapping sound through out the night. The bathtub had no drain plug. The shower prefab wall is pulling away and requires recaulking. Torn bath towels should be discarded. read more

Having to go to Mobile for my Uncles funeral I chose this hotel because of the rating for cleanliness. The hotel was a little (lot) pricey and the front desk gave me problems about using my husband's credit card so I had to pay cash. The rPom looked good at first glance even though my sister across the hall found a dirty tshirt thrown across the bar in her closet. As the visit went on we discovered what looked like a large bloody spot on the carpet by the bed, a molded shower curtain, the container holding the coffee and condiments was molded and the hair dryer was not attached to the wall so we had to hold the base or try to keep it on the counter while we dried our hair. We were only there long enough to shower and sleep because we were there to comfort our grieving family but with what we were charged we should've had a clean room. the only positive thing about this room is that the beds are very comfortable. read more

Front desk service was really great. They were very friendly and welcoming. I understand they are going to be doing some much needed renovations, thus the 3 stars. While the rooms were clean they were a little beaten up. We did try turning the TV on but remote didn't work. In all fairness, we didn't call for a new remote. If I were in Mobile AL again, I'd give them another try. Price was right and location is hard to beat! read more

Here are my impressions after staying here during a 21 hour layover. This is my first stay at this hotel. Room was quiet and clean. AC works well. Had an issue with the door, as the handle is very hard to turn and takes several tries to open the door. Also, it can stick, causing me to think the door is locked, when it isn't, which is without a doubt not secure at all. Takes a lot of muscle to open it. As for the rest of the room, the shower is great and the bed was very comfortable. The pool was fine. A bit murky, but average for a hotel like this. The gym had a nice variety of equipment and free weights that all were in working order, which usually isn't the case in most hotels. The water cooler was out of order however. Everyone at the front desk, as well as the van drivers were very nice and professional. I wasn't a fan of the area this hotel is in. Conveniently off of the interstate, the area appeared to be safe however. Also the Zaxby's next door made me happy, as well as the Waffle House, since me being a southern transplant to the west coast, I don't always get such delicacies. The sidewalks around the hotel abruptly end for no reason, so it's not a handicap accessible walking area. The main thing that annoyed me is that there was a large intersection in front of the hotel with absolutely no crosswalk, therefore crossing the street to go to Starbucks and the hibachi place proved to be a challenge. Literally the only option was to wait a while then sprint across a la frogger while praying a car leaving the parking lot doesn't turn your direction. Overall not a bad stay however. read more

We stay here often. Last night we had a place called Key West inn in Penscacola. we found on book.com the place was horrible . We called to see if they had a room here to finish our vacation. The lady at desk was as always beyond helpful . You can count on clean rooms and great service. This is one of our favorite hotels. We might have to drive back to Pensacola to finish our scheduled events but the drive is worth it to us. Safety is worth every penny read more

The biggest perk is the cruise parking - but not sure that's worth it. We had to wait 15 minutes (at least) to check in because the guest in front of us kept asking about getting to the port. IThere was only one person working. Then, even though I reserved a room with two full sized beds, they didn't have any available. I was given a room with a king and a fold out - which was fine. We were also given permission to check out an hour late. Our room was immediately available and clean. We went to the pool and it was littered with small trash - like soda and beer cans. It was overwhelming dirty just trash here and there like no one had really come around and picked anything up for awhile. We came back to the room and I noticed what I think is black mold on the ceiling and rust in different places in the bathroom. I imagine in Mobile it is difficult to manage both, but I would like to see the mold gone! Our shower head was loose from the wall. Breakfast had a great selection of food. However the room was packed and there wasn't enough tables for everyone. They had ran out of napkins. Then we were never told when to be ready for the courtesy shuttle to the port and did not arrive on time. They were incredibly kind and we arrived with time to spare. There wasn't any one thing wrong with the hotel but rather many small items that are ringing up to the low rating. If you were coming in late and leaving early, that might make it okay. Otherwise I just can't recommend staying here. read more

Like others who have posted reviews here, I've stayed here before and it was fine. This time was different. My difficulties started with my reservation. I called to book my rooms and was on the phone with the CSR for 20+ minutes, but the system crashed and I was told to call back later. I called the next day and the same thing happened again midway through my call. Fortunately, he didn't make me call back and managed to get the rooms booked. The rates I was quoted seemed to be all over the place (I was booking two rooms), but I wasn't writing them down, so I can't give you specifics. It was easily the most confusing and contradictory booking experience I've ever had, and I travel a lot. They allowed us to check in early, which was nice because my husband wasn't feeling well. In my opinion, the rooms are in DESPERATE need of updating. Outdated, dark, and unappealing. The bed in our room was right next to the AC vent (less than 20 inches apart) which meant that I had to choose between having AC or having cold air blasted right at my head. Housekeeping didn't service our room, claiming we had a do not disturb sign up (we did, but it was long gone before the housekeeping crew left our floor, so I don't know why they didn't check again before they left). However, they did leave a note explaining why the room wasn't serviced. Still, this meant we didn't have clean towels when we got back late that night. The other room we had for a family member was serviced properly. As I was checking out, I asked the front desk clerk about the rates. Maybe she was having a bad morning, but she wasn't very helpful or friendly. Last, the breakfast area was not as neat and clean as I am accustomed to seeing at that location. Needless to say, it's my last stay there. From start to finish, it's not an experience I care to repeat at any price. If you just need a place to crash it's probably ok, but I can't recommend it to anyone. read more

Highly recommend this lovely hotel! Customer service is often so lacking these days but not so at this Wingate! Absolutely the nicest, friendliest service we can remember in several years. From our first call inquiring about checking in early (which they graciously accommodated) to modifying our original reservations from 2 nights to 7 .... and gave us a discount due to our vehicle being in the shop locally. Every clerk, housekeeper, manager, breakfast staff we encountered greeted us with southern hospitality. The breakfast was excellent (I am sure those biscuits were homemade!) and the coffee was fresh. The hotel was very clean and bed was very comfortable. Some of the furnishings appeared a bit worn, but everything was clean and in excellent repair. Such a great stay and good value for the price. read more

Do yourself a favor and skip this hotel. As soon as we opened our hotel room it was jammed, you had to use your body and hit the door to open. The entire room felt damp. I hate that feeling! Rust was all over the bathroom door. There wasn't a working fan in the bathroom. It was too late to complain after ten hours on the road so we just went to sleep. When we woke up and went downstairs for breakfast there was nothing. There was at least 10 people waiting for items to be restocked which happened at a snail pace but for some items not at all. Guests started walking into the kitchen prep area to get items to help their own families out. There was one employee but she couldn't keep up and I can't even blame her. If the hotel has this many guests, they need to have staff to accommodate them. I'll never stay here again and I'd advise you not to, either. read more

The room wasn't awful but... The room had several pieces of paint and drywall scraped off in one corner. The rooms AC does a very poor job of conditioning the room. You'll either be hot and sticky or cold if you sleep by the ac while its on this really both my wife's and my sleep. There is no air circulation in the bathroom so my wife couldn't be in there after we all took a shower (to straighten and blow dry her hair). On the bright side people were pleasant as was the breakfast. If you're hot natured you may look elsewhere but if not bothered by it this would be a good hotel. read more

We booked in advance after deciding to rest in Mobile, Alabama during our trip to Destin. We avoided the pool after seeing it was not clean, lounging chairs were suppose to be beige but were black. There was obvious remodeling going on but you could also tell contractors were not being held accountable for cleaning their workspace. Room was clean but had a bad odor to it. Wish we would have been warned prior to checking in! read more

As with all Wingates, this one is very nice. The staff is very friendly and there are lots of amenities. You get free breakfast as well as free WIFI. The area is okay with a few places to eat nearby, but don't expect much entertainment if you don't have a car. Also, they provide a crew room for airline employees. I would definitely stay here again. read more

I stayed here while training people at the new Mobile location of my company. The hotel was fantastic! From the front desk, the snack room, the provided internet room, and to the actual room itself, the hotel blew me away. The bed was extremely comfortable and the TV was huge! Clean and spacious rooms. Simple decor. Hot breakfast of baked goods, cereal, sausage and eggs, juice, and coffee was fairly good. Only a few minutes drive down the street to Downtown and major attractions. Not in a very foot traffic friendly area. Aside from that, a very nice hotel for the price. read more

Stayed at this hotel July 2017 and bathroom wasn't cleaned after returning back to room. Contacted front desk and corporate office, toilet was dirty and floor. Was told someone would show up 30minutes and still waiting for housekeeping an hr later. Will not stay here ever again. read more
