When we called AAA and the tow truck driver came he said he could take us to Sci-Tech Automotive and that the owner would give us a good deal and take care of us. When we dropped off the car we left a note saying that we were traveling back to Iowa to visit family and had to fly out in two days and asked him to call us first thing in the morning. The owner called us first thing in the morning and was honest with us and gave us a great deal. Our truck was done by noon and the owner drove over to the Hotel to pick up my husband and drove him back to the shop which was extremely nice of him to do. Long story short, this place is AWESOME! They are honest and will give you a good deal. If you are looking for someplace to take your car and you don't want to get ripped off go to Sci-Tech Automotive. They are excellent!

We looked around on Google and Yelp for reviews of nearby auto shops and it seems this one has been highly recommended in reviews as trustworthy and has been around for a while. When I got there having not looked at pictures or anything, I was a bit confused. You cross the railroad tracks and there's a storage place and a white house with a chain link fence, surrounded by cars. If you pull around further there's a big blue garage with multiple doors, and a smaller entry door to the left. That's where you go in, and Don's office is to the left. I wasn't confident so I called and Steve answered. He was nice enough to come out and ensure I was in the right spot embarrassing but they treated me well regardless. Let me tell you, as a woman coming to auto shops I'm always prepared for being treated as though I don't know anything.... Definitely didn't get that vibe here at all. Everyone was super respectful and friendly. They got my car on a lift once I arrived and I meandered around the shop to stay out of the way. Even hearing how they talked with each other, there was joking around but mostly just shop talk and helping each other out. Didn't hear one cuss word either. Eventually Pat came around joking about what if they failed me on the inspection and we got to talking about a decal on my car (D&D related) with Steve. They're all nice guys and made me feel right at home. This place reminds me a lot of my grandpa's garage, just honest people doing honest service. At the end, Don told me my breaks will need some work but since it's around the holidays he assured me they should last til January. I shook his (and his mechanics) hands and thanked each of them. My car, like many cars that are on the market today, has tons of bells and whistles, so adding a battery means doing a reset and reprogram. Guess what? I don't have the tools or the knowledge on how to do that. Could I change a battery many years ago? Absolutely! Could I change a battery now? No way... That's why I needed someone with the tools, the know-how, and the availability. I put in a request via Yelp to get a project started, and Prymo was the first to respond and had availability the next morning. They sent a tech to my house, he quickly diagnosed that the battery had no charge left, even though I had a jump the day before, and he commenced replacement. I didn't have to do anything other than do what I usually do, which is work from home. Fast-forward a half-hour and the job was done. I had a new battery, the tech had reprogrammed everything to its proper state, and he was on his way. Prymo accepts debit and credit, though a credit card purchase will come with a 3% charge, which is very fair since that's what the banks stick to the business. It wasn't cheap, but most of the cost was in the actual battery itself, which came with a five-year warranty. Great response, simple to navigate and schedule, and the tech was professional and skilled. Great experience and highly recommend if you're in the same situation.

I heard loud sounds coming from the working area, though I couldn't see what was happening. He said I need the intake manifold gasket replaced. I ran my car to see where it was leaking, and there is a new leak by the manifold gasket. Looking closer I saw there was a fresh metal gouge right where it was leaking. It didn't leak a drop previously. Now it leaks tons and is not driveable. There was a new zipper mark gouged into my fender that lined up with where his jacket would have been to do this to my manifold. Quoted $700 to fix. Although I can't prove it, I firmly believe this place purposely damaged my car to get extra work. Previously I had taken a car up there to get a safety inspection and he hit me with a 200 dollar repair. He told me I'd probably notice it drove better. It drove exactly the same - perfectly. I suspect he got me then, too. It should be noted you can't see what is going on in the working area from the waiting room area.
