I always ordered wine at this place maybe at least 50-100 bottles the last couple years.. there was several times they didn't have the product that I wanted, but they still took the money and then turned around and said they will send them out next month. I had to wait several weeks to get it, but I never wrote a review until this time. This time I ordered five bottles of wine and I got them all on time but one bottle the wine was leaking ..the liquor came out all messy..It was a gift for my business customer. I could not give them the Broken bottle. So I requested a replacement.. They said they're not gonna give us a new one. "..This is a very common issue they said..."..But I bought insurance for delivery too.. I could not believe I paid for full price + paid for insurance and got a broken bottle of wine and got an answer from the seller say it's a common issue.. ridiculous, Scam..!!!!! If you are not solving this problem with me, there will be further action coming..!!! read more

Rip off artists. Advertising what they don't have, not giving you what you ordered, and the product that they actually give you is worth 50% less than what you paid. They offer a 15% discount as compensation. That's still 35% overcharge for the WRONG ITEM. AVOID AVOID AVOID read more

They have a good selection of beer, wines and liquor. Everything is reasonably priced. I usually stop by here because I know they sell the beer that I like. read more

Do yourself a favor and DONT ORDER FROM WINE CHATEU. I ordered 2 bottles of green chartreuse and 2 bottles of yellow chartreuse back in August. I received the 2 bottles of green chartreuse but didn't receive the yellow. When I called, they said they were out indefinitely (which I understand. It's hard to find it anywhere). I asked for a refund. They said they would do it in a few business days. Didn't happen. I called again, they said the same thing... didn't happen. It's now December and I'm super frustrated. Awful follow through and customer service. I'll waste more of my day calling tomorrow. If there is more responsive people on Facebook, please look up order 173771572 on 8/21. Also note THE ADDITIONAL bottle I was charged for on 8/22/22 and CALL ME or REFUND me. It should add up to almost $130. Can you tell I'm annoyed?! The swindling is apparent on the reviews here. PLEASE lodge complaints at: https://www.bbb.org/ read more

Wine Chateau offers a Reserve Pass for $97 that gives a year of free shipping. But they don't honor it. Most of their wine and spirits are priced higher than stores here in Maine! There is usually a long hold time for customer service. read more

I ordered 1/2 case of a wine they had on sale. After 2 weeks, I contacted them to ask them why they had not yet sent the wine. It turns out that neither them nor the supplier had it in stock. They tried to convince me to replace it with another item that was not on sale. After I said no and asked them to cancel the order and refund my money, they stopped responding to my emails. I still have not been able to get the money back read more

Ordered wine from them poor communication from the company. Sent me the wrong year and the wrong qty. I ordered 18 only got 12 bottles.

This place is a scam. I wish I read the reviews before I tried them. Sent me the wrong wine completely and then tried to convince me to keep it. Sent me cheaper wine than I paid for. Stay away from them!!! read more

Absolutely unreliable, shady business. Ordered wine from their website on 10/30, emailed 11/3 asking for status and got a reply that it would ship within a few days. Emailed 11/9 requesting status and got no reply, called 11/11/22 and was told they don't actually carry the wine. Zero customer service, now I'm scrambling to find the wine in time for Thanksgiving. read more

BEYOND TERRIBLE. POOR.. UNPROFESSIONAL.. AVOID AT AL COSTS. This company is a fraud, taking money and seldom delivering. They went as far as to commit felony fraud. They will gladly take your order. Look at the reviews, few actually get their items. I called customer service about my order. The woman on the phone was dismissive. I was transferred to a "Manager" who basically did not care at all. This company should be shut down. 29 Negative reviews in the last 30 days alone. That should tell you all you need to know. read more

This review is for winechateau.com It seems items are for sale on the website that either aren't actually available or are backordered. They do help you find replacement items but shipping takes awhile, and you may or may not get the right product. Customer service via email is OK. One person was helpful and finally got my package shipped out after it was stalled in purgatory, but they don't always reply to emails. I'll be using wine.com instead going forward. read more

HORRIBLE service, NON-EXISTENT communication. Been waiting for order to ship for almost a month. Only a portion of the order shipped and no communication provided by the shop as to when or if the remainder will ship. No tracking information provided with the order. "Andy", the shop manager (if that is even his real name ) does not follow-up like he promises. HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE. Will never order from them again. read more

Awful company to deal with. Slow, nonresponsive and sent the wrong product. I ordered 5 bottles of a particular seasonal wine (identified by a special color label) based on seeing its exact picture on the website. The website said it was in stock. Days went by with no shipment notification. How do you spell to ask about the shipping date. I got a canned response back with zero useful information. I contacted them again. This time I also asked them to confirm that the wine was exactly what I wanted (as indicated by the special color label). No response to my query. But the sent me a survey asking how satisfied I was with the prior useless reply. Contacted them yet again. Got another useless canned response. After 10 days (!), I got another canned email saying my order was in the "final stages" of preparation for shipment. Still no specific shipping date. And no confirmation that it was the right bottling. Finally, after two weeks, my order arrived. It was the wrong bottling. I will never use this company again. I have the worst customer service I can remember of any company I've dealt with in a long time. read more

They finally responded to my email and admitted they do not have the product in stock. But yet they allowed the charge on my credit card to go through. So dishonest. I replied and requested that the order be cancelled and money refunded on my credit card but they again did not reply or acknowledge my cancellation or refund. read more

I placed a large wine order, they billed it to my credit card, but shipped it to the wrong address (a Texas address, I live in North Carolina). I had tried for a week to get a copy of the invoice, they kept telling me they have sent it to my e-mail but I never got it (not in my junk file either). When I finally got the FedEx tracking number from them, it confirmed that it was delivered to the Texas address. When I called Wine Chateau to report that they shipped to the wrong address, I had to call several times before I finally spoke to someone who could give me any useful information. I was told that since that was the shipping address on the invoice, they could do nothing about it. Strange because they had my correct billing address on the invoice but the Texas shipping address. I told them I've never even been to Texas and there's no way I would have put that address as my shipping address, they must have made an error. Who would have put that wrong address on the invoice? Very unusual. I was then told if I called back they would hang up on me, since they have proof I entered the Texas shipping address. I have filed a fraud complaint with my credit card company. read more

Fraudulent online sales! Don't expect to get a certain vintage, as you will be charged for the one you want, and will be sent a much more recent and cheaper vintage. I was beyond skeptical after I placed my order 2 weeks ago and saw all the reviews online if anything was ever going to show up. The company was great at communicating throughout the entire process and my shipment just got here. These were all very high-end bottles the easily could have been a scam and despite what the review says it is not a scam. everything was packaged amazingly to protect the bottles with double boxes, cardboard inserts and foam. read more

By far the worst online buying experience. They are either criminals -- I am giving them a benefit of doubt for I still might be getting the wine (did not get it after 3++ weeks, they did not even send it) - or utterly indifferent bunch of thieving idiots. I am fully aware how ugly sounding those words are and am truly sorry that I have to write them, but there's no other way to describe how they conduct their business: - I did NOT get my first order - I did NOT get my second order (placed while all seemed OK) - they sold or shared, without my consent, my private data - they ignored my concerns re: the purchase and the data sharing scam - the "support" is from the Twilight Zone, fake cheerfulness, idiotic ignorance, without addressing the issue at hand, the product I paid for but they did not deliver. I am, as Inna K., going to dispute this charge with my credit card. read more

do not order from them, they are crooks and liars, i order wine from them that went to number 1, and after i paid, they refused to sell, originally they said they have it in stock! don't put your trust in them, you will be sorry! Says that my order was delivered two hours ago. I was home. No delivery. Door cam verified that no one came.

This is my candy and toy store!! Love the service, layout, and the selection is consistently being updated. They also host wine testing events. That keep up with the new trends. I have also joined their email and points system. I come to pick up a few favorites and new wines. This visit I picked up an assortment of different beers - cinco de mayo. I still go up and down the aisles to eyeball the new delicious bottles. I actually like the intense descriptions on the labels provided by the chateau to tease your palate. Great eye catcher. Prices are what drawn me back each time. I try to compare elsewhere and it's just so much less here. I will continue fulfill my shopping needs in this store. read more

Horrible experience and false advertising. I order the Mezan Guyana Vintage 1998 as shown in the picture and description on the website. The company will send the less expensive 2005 vintage and blame it on the supplier and will not stand behind what is shown on their website. One of the worst online retail experiences I've ever had, having had to place 3 calls to the company, and each time being lied to by their representatives: first call - I was told it was in stock and in process of being shipped. second call - I was told it was not in stock and needed to ship from the distributor. third call - when finally delivered 2 weeks late, I did not receive the product on the website, that I paid extra for. They sent a cheaper bottle (vintage) and blamed it on the supplier. Horrible experience. This company is reminiscent of the early days of online retail, where unscrupulous character's sought easy money by defrauding consumers. Avoid this retailer at all costs! read more

On 11/20 I placed an online order. Once the tracking number was received, UPS said that they could not ship it. The Wine Chateau representative on the phone said it was being reshipped. That was a lie. I've sent several emails NO response. I got the run around for a few days and after several emails..... I FINALLY received an email stating I would receive a refund. This was EXTREMELY disappointing. I can't believe that you can have an online company, and not deliver the services and goods promised!!! :/ 12/5 Finally, to add insult to injury... I received this... "Thank you for your recent purchase from Wine Chateau! We invite you to rate and review the products you purchased or share an image that would benefit other customers. Your input will help customers choose the best products on WineChateau.com. It's easy to submit a review--just click the Rate & Review button next to the product." bahahaha read more

Wine Chateau - How can you be in this business? 1) OBVIOUSLY someone doesn't understand how to ship 2)you can't deliver what you sell??? - Beer, Wine & Spirits Near Me - Piscataway, New Jersey

This company is terrible. Overcharge highly for shipping and then don't provide accurate tracking information. I was told the tracking I was given would become active once the shipment reached my home state? What?!? That's not how tracking works. I requested a partial refund of my shipping cost and was pretty much told too bad! This company is worthless and I wouldn't buy from them again if they were the only means to find something I wanted. Buyer beware. Wine chateau will substitute or switch any out of stock items for cheaper items without notice or approval. They manipulated my online order details to other cheaper items and also items adjusted the price to match the total I paid. Like many others warn - stay away from this place as an online provider. I ordered 6 bottles of bourbon/scotch. I was almost immediately charged for the full order cost. A few days later I received an e-mail saying 3 of the bottles shipped. No tracking info nor mention of the method/carrier, just an e-mail advising they shipped. A few days after that - the same type of communication on another 2 of the bottles. Eventually all did arrive in fine condition. So, so far this is just a story of poor communication. However, now we come to the 6th bottle. A few days after the others arrived I get the similar shipping e-mail about this last bottle. I wait. Nothing arrives after 1 week. I contact WC for more info and am told - sorry, the bottle was actually out of stock and had to be re-ordered - but that it would ship "tomorrow". That was over 2 weeks ago now and no further communication from WC. I have repeatedly contacted them for an update or refund. So far, not even the courtesy of a further reply. read more

Do not order anything from the online store! I ordered a few bottles of wine a couple of years ago and it was a disaster. They showed the bottles as being in stock. I ordered the bottles. They took my money. Then after waiting over a week and hearing nothing I started the process of having to track down my order. After a week of unanswered emails I finally walked into a retail store only to be told that they don't have the wine in stock anywhere in their system. I cancelled the order and eventually got a refund. I should have known better than to buy from them again but I thought maybe they got their act together. Wrong! I ordered a $100 bottle of tequila for a friend as a gift. After a few days of hearing nothing about a shipping date I sent an email. They responded by saying they would look into it and get back to me...nothing. I sent an email asking to cancel the order and they just refunded my money with no explanation whatsoever. Horrible customer service and completely unprofessional! read more
