I am an artsy fartsy millennial, and I thought this would be a cool memory to make with my young daughter. The shop itself is neat, but the staff were extremely rude to my daughter and I the moment we walked in the door. My little girl is young, I get it--she is 4 years old, but I was closely supervising her. We did our best to follow the directions at the front of the store, but felt like the gentleman working there really didn't want us there at all. He hovered over us, then seemed to get frustrated when we didn't understand that the wire and such was on a different wall and not something we received at checkout. He sat us down and gave us brief instructions. Okay, no problem. It's beads on a wire, fairly self explanatory. I start helping my daughter, who wasn't too keen on my directions, but she is getting beads on her bracelet all the same, so I let it go. Making a wonky bracelet is part of the experience, after all. I make mine, then once we both have something, we go to the register to try and get help finishing up and cashing out. A lady gets up who I thought was a customer. She turns out to be staff as well. She gets all huffy about my girl's bracelet, saying it's too big and indiscriminately removing beads as she sees fit since my (once again, four year old) daughter isn't able to provide quick, meaningful feedback on which beads she likes best. The necklace I made needed a bit more length, so I hurriedly tried to add some of our leftover beads to it as the woman tried to rush us out. I wanted my stuff symmetrical, and she was just bulldozering over me, trying to take stuff out of my hands before I barked, "No. I want it like this." I made some passing comment about, "I thought this would be cute, but it's surprisingly not very kid friendly." She sternly replied, "Yeah, everything here is glass." She finished up my necklace. We took it to the register. I put all of our loose, unused beads in the basket, since the gentleman told us they would be put back if they were unused. He wound up charging us for all the loose beads and untouched bead strands, and I didn't realize until after we left. It was definitely insult to injury, but I think I'd rather keep the beads than deal with them in person again. The prices weren't high enough for me to argue over anyway. This seems like a fun activity if you are a group of adults, but they have absolutely no patience for kids at all. The fact that they advertise kids birthday parties boggles my mind.

This is located behind the Myrtle Beach convention Center, and according to the ticket agent in the parking lot, it is also merged with it, meaning that some events can also be in this sports center. There is a $5.00 parking fee, all day. it is walkable and easy to get around. There was no admission fee for this event, which is good. Basically we walked around a gym, but it made room for tons of art and craft vendors-- and i even brought an ornament for my new tree! Plenty of room to walk around and for vendors. Also went to the restroom, which was clean, and easy to find in correlation to where the arts and crafts were. We also saw tons of bleachers, and volleyball nets in the other gym while we were looking for the bathrooms- so they have mostly sporting events here i would guess. We paid for the rides and you'd need to pay additional for the arcade use. The price for the rides (all included) seemed to be pricey to me but it did entertain us. Overall, a good experience. It seems after much frustration, they did something different this year and had openings so I booked over thanksgiving. I planned to leave a bit earlier but we decided to leave closer to 5 and what would normally be a 30-40 min drive was about an hour and a half. The traffic was backed up, which is no surprise but there is likely improvements that can be done here-- like checking tickets at gates rather than another option. We also had a handicap decal but no one directed where it would be, I guess we had to ask or notify sooner. Once we got through the gates, we were moving. Parking was quite a bit away which was challenging for my mom who has some hip issues. We got in, no issue and I was concerned about making it all the way through but there's plenty of time to slow down and enjoy. The had hot chocolate which was the perfect touch of a freeezing night, as well as alcoholic options. The indoor train exhibition is also a must see! Overall, I would highly recommend, it was absolutely beautiful and an experience to ring in the holidays. Get there early to enjoy and make sure to check for tickets and follow for when they go on sale!
