My old bike fit me comfortably but was not fit for riding long bike rides and for staying up with my friends (whom have 25lb to even less weighted bikes) and it was a 10 speed. Yeh I am a Baby Boomer. (^; My faithful steed the "Lead Sled" weighed in at 45+ lbs more so..... with water, tools, food etc. I had called ahead and told the owner what I was needing and let them know I was coming a certain day and brought my bike. I like the folks there right from the get go. Robert the owner took my bike and measured every inch of it and came up with the very best bike he could find online to rebuild to fit what I needed to ride comfortably and safely. And WOW it is awesome! I had gone to many Bike shops nearer to me and found they wanted to use the bikes they had in their stores and rebuild them. Some said they could not change the bikes enough and my body would get used to the changes made. But I know my body.. and I was ready to pay whatever was needed to be able to continue to ride bikes. I imagined I would have to pay an unbelievable price and knew it would be worth it in the long run. But no! I was able to purchase a really super nice bike, with all of the changes I needed to address my past injuries. Thank God, Robert found the perfect brand of bike to be fixed to perfection. Not only am I a lot more comfortable on the new bike than I was on the Lead Sled (which I thought was perfectly fitted for me), I am able to "almost" keep up with all the folks I ride with. Thank you Robert and his mom... Linda for all you did to help me. I will not be going to bike shops anywhere else. If they were ever to move their shop 6 hours away. I would be driving 6 hours to get the type of bike service that you all and I deserve from a great Cycle shop....."CYCLEWORKS Bicycle Shop in Mt. Airy NC!! Thank you Cycleworks!!

I am not a runner. I do not even enjoy jogging. But today I ran 6 miles. That is longer than I have…read moreever run in my life. I owe this in part to By Foot Sports, and Jeff Beckelhimer. A friend of mine told me that By Foot Sports sold a shoe called "Hoka One One" (pronounced "o-nay" - more on that later). My wife and I wanted to go try some on but because of her work we couldn't get there until after closing time. Jeff graciously agreed to stay late and spent a good hour with us, trying on shoes and sharing his general love for running. I picked up a pair of Hokas, some calf sleeves, and even a pair of shorts on sale. I am as guilty as anyone of shopping on-line for certain things, but some things I always try to buy locally. Shoes are one. You really need to try shoes on, or in some cases like this, be properly fitted for shoes, in order to get the most out of them. I would hate to see a day in which we are 100% dependent on one sporting goods store in the same way that we are 100% dependent in Winston-Salem on a single book store for all our needs. Thus, I love the motto of By Foot, "We're not Dick's." Do yourself and your community a favor and make the short drive to King to check out By Foot. And about those shoes. The Hoka One Ones are so cushioned in the sole that it is like running on pillows. Being 230 pounds, one reason I didn't run is because of the pounding on my legs and back in regular running shoes. But after having the shoes only 3 weeks or so, I ran 6 miles today. I couldn't have done that in any other shoe.

Being that I liked shoes out of the norm (Hoka's) I was able to find Jeff's store online via the Hoka website. I called earlier in the week and asked Jeff if he had the new Cliftons available in a size 13. Having bigger feet always make shoe shopping a struggle for me, so I usually try and call in advance or special order the shoes. Luckily Jeff had the size 13 so I decided a trip to King was worth the time. Drove out there on Saturday and was greeted by Jeff and was very suprised to see Hoka's everywhere! Usually Hoka's are in the back corner of running stores and not displayed properly. But this store actually promoted them. So far so good. Jeff let me try on the Cliftons, we talked running "shop" for a bit and did some minor lace adjustments to make the Cliftons fit a bit better. And yes, I bought them. =) The personal touch Jeff added in customer service, truly showed me he appreciates his customers and loves everything about running. If you are runner and in need of a true good fitting shoe head over to King and talk to Jeff.

In fact, his 5 star reviews were the reason I chose Sound Connection to upgrade my cars radio. Upon meeting Mike, he presented himself as a very warm and caring business owner. That carried through the entire installation process where Mike thoroughly explained everything in detail. I'm thankful for his attention to detail. He sent photos to my phone showing each component and where he placed them. I can honestly say that the finished installation was as good or better than a factory install. I highly recommend Mike to anyone wanting a highly skilled, extremely professional technician who will treat you with the utmost respect and deliver results that will exceed your expectations. Thank you, Mike.

On my second attempt to make it fit, I humbly looked for help. Mike was too kind. He said many of his customers come via the same route as me. When I got to his shop, I saw his selection of quality equipment, I knew I should have bought my equipment from Mike as well. BEFORE you buy online, go price Mike. The installation looked like factory. A little expensive, but they are real pros.
