Enrolling my child in this school was the best decision I have ever made. The atmosphere is supportive, rewarding, challenging and caring. The Fusion teachers focus on the way your child learns in a one on one setting. I have never been prouder and have no plans on ever sending my child back to the public school system.

Bronxville Montessori (BMS) is a hidden gem. Our family moved nearby last year, and we were a bit…read moreconcerned about being able to find a high quality preschool. My husband works in education, and we're both very focused on the impact of an educational environment on the development of young children. After seeing several daycares and preschools in the area, we visited BMS and knew it was the program for us. Our daughter, almost 3, just made the cutoff to get into the mixed age classroom. BMS has almost a magical quality about it - The head of the school, Deborah, runs an excellent operation. From having kind, passionate, well trained teachers, to fostering a secure, collaborative, learning environment for the children, we could not be happier with our experience at BMS. While I could go on about the different best practices I've seen there, I think the most important proof is in the pudding... Since starting at BMS, our daughter has grown wonderfully. She's become more thoughtful, conscientious, and engaged. She's excited to go to school in the morning, and models the behaviors they foster there, outside of school (curiosity about the world, empathy, cleaning up after herself, and more). To us, Bronxville Montessori maintains the perfect balance of lots of play (creative and physical), some traditional classroom instruction, and character focused activities/norms. Of course there's work on the parents' part to help foster a similar environment at home, but we feel BMS has helped lay an excellent foundation for our daughter. We recommend the school to all our local friends (one just enrolled their toddler in the 2s program). We have also been very happy with their ability to reopen for the 2020/2021 school year, and with all the precautions they're taking to ensure a safe environment amidst COVID-19. The 3-5 age class students wear masks inside and outside, are screened every morning, practice frequent hand-washing, follow social distancing measures inside the classroom, and more. The pandemic has been extra challenging for all our children, and since returning to BMS after the pandemic school lockdown, our now almost-4-year-old has has been progressing back to her more normal state - happier, less anxious, fewer meltdowns, etc.

I visited the school and I was excited because the school was in a good building and it had everything that my son needed. When my son first started he was supposed to have a 1 on 1 aid and when I checked in a few times he didn't , it took the school some time but they finally hired a local young lady to work with him with in a few weeks even though they knew months in advance that he was starting. My biggest disappointment was my son coming home filthy with dried up food on his face that had probably been there since lunch that no one bothered to wipe off and stained clothing. How embarrassing and disappointing to have to take him off the school bus that way in the afternoon. I complained to my school district but nothing changed even though the school got the complaint. I just couldn't comprehend why if they hired an aid for him and him only why couldn't she take care of one child, why did he have to look like no one cared about him. If I could have pulled him out of the school and kept him home I would have. My sons aid or teacher hardly ever wrote in his communication book that I sent with him daily unless there was something that they needed or they thought he wasn't feeling well. He did one year there and I couldn't wait to get him out of that school. I won't be bias, I talked to another parent that I know that sends her daughter there and she was happy so everyone's experience is different. What I would say to any parent with special needs children, if you're unhappy with a program, find another program that you're happy with.

We were looking for a college consultant to help us navigate the college landscape for our daughter. We observed that the college marketplace had changed and become dramatically more competitive - particularly at the elite schools. The number of applications has exploded. The acceptance rates have declined. Many of the college consultants we spoke with were taken aback by the changes in the marketplace. They were negative. They were dispirited. They were looking for the lowest common dominator in terms of setting expectations for our daughter. Neal Schwartz was different. Neal spent most of his career in business: selling computer hardware, leading computer hardware sales organizations, and managing business units as an executive. Neal was fact-based, data-driven in his approach and developed a plan and a process to help us navigate the landscape and achieve the best results. Business background is key. While the college marketplace is competitive - this is not the first time Neal has dealt with competitive market dynamics. Thus far, Neal has provided advice and counsel in terms an overall plan, suggested priorities in terms of after-school and summer activities, suggested priorities in terms of AP classes, and - most importantly - providing us with access to a proprietary database / online tool to allow us to review and understand our choices in terms of college and "fit" for our daughter. Again, this is a data-driven approach. But the biggest upside so far has been working with our daughter on the ACT exam. Neal reviewed the results of the PSAT and PACT exam and provided us with the pros and cons of each test and the most likely "lift" in terms of scores. Neal provided us with outstanding tutors who helped our daughter practice and prepare for the ACT exam. The tutors were themselves business executives who were either in the financial services industry or retired executives who had built and sold business. The approach was again a business focus that was fact-based, data-driven, and geared toward results. The result was a tremendous ACT score for our daughter. We look forward to working with Neal to finalize this journey for our daughter. Perhaps it is a stereotype. Perhaps it is unfair. But many in the educational community could be considered more of the nurturing, supportive variety. Perhaps "soft." Neal is not "soft." Neal is practical and he gets results. We will always be grateful to Neal Schwartz. It has been a great fit for our daughter.

Known specifically for its high level of Modern dance training, Steffi Nossen attracts some of the best teachers and choreographers in the industry. The difference? The Steffi community is truly a family. My sisters and I all danced here and have made friendships that have lasted far beyond our high school years. While some who train here go on to a professional dance career, others have continued to find the joy of dance in all aspects of their life. We were able to work with choreographers like Patrick Corbin, Sidra Bell, Peter Pucci, Nancy Lushington, Michael Foley, Annmaria Mazzini, Sabatino Verlezza and Pam Tanowitz. We were able to perform as young girls in the outstanding SUNY Purchase Performing Arts Center, and other prominent venues in NYC. Steffi Nossen's studios are beautiful and centrally located in White Plains. In addition to Modern training, Steffi Nossen has incredible ballet, jazz, hip hop, and tap classes as well. I began at SNS at age 3, and I know many others who spent their childhood years here too. Without a doubt this school is unique and special. It's not just the best school in Westchester, Steffi Nossen also boasts a thriving foundation that seeks to bring dance to all people - regardless of personal circumstance. Their Moving Wheels and Heels program features adaptive dance for both stand up and wheelchair dancers. As a student at the school, I was able to work with this program. As a young woman, being able to not just hone my own technique, but also give back in such a fundamental way, was truly remarkable. I would highly recommend this school to anyone looking for high caliber dance training in a supportive environment. Steffi dancers stay connected long after high school. I am honored to be part of this community.
