Everything was clean, aesthetically pleasing and relaxing. I can't wait to come back!

I like complex nails and wanted someone who wouldn't be intimidated and could achieve what I was looking for. I called to confirm the appointment was with this specific person a week ago, they said it was. I drove nearly an hour because her expertise seemed worth it. As I am nearly to the salon, I get 2 back to back calls asking if booking with her was a mistake, and to call back if it was. I arrived, they once again asked me if it was a mistake, I said no it wasn't. They told me okay, figured that was that. They put me with someone else anyway without telling me. I figured she was just getting my nails prepped, then I'd switch to who I asked for when she was ready. Nope, she did the whole thing, while noticeably uncomfortable with the design I wanted, as I watched the girl I requested take a different client. She did her best, but they're not even close to what I wanted, not even color. The shape and application is average for any salon. She rushed off to her next client before I was able to look at them fully finished. I was getting a pedicure so I figured I would have her fix them or at least do something to make it a bit better for me when she was done with that client. Instead she brought me my receipt, said they were already done and that she had to go, so I basically got stuck leaving with nails I hated. I'm primarily frustrated because at any point during the week I could've been contacted regarding scheduling, I would've been happy to move it to another day, or another time to remain with the tech I wanted. I went to every length to ensure I would have who I wanted, and only when I was already an hour away from home and sat in a random techs chair did I learn that wasn't happening. I spent near $150 on nails I'm replacing at a different salon tomorrow

Usually I leave the salon with beet-red eyebrows (sensitive, white skin) feeling like I was just one in a long line of customers. Bethany made my brows look the best they've been in years (probably since my wedding) and her careful fill-in and concealer gave me confidence I never have after a wax. I'll be back!

Bethany's space is inside the Phenix Salon Suites, and though she's near the back she's easy to find. (If you haven't been to one, each "studio/office" is it's own private business, with many different salon type services offered throughout the building). Bethany's space is very inviting, and if her door is shut due to her being with someone, there is a nice bench nearby for waiting. I never have to wait too long if I have to wait at all! Her space is well decorated and she is always prepared and ready. I see Bethany about once a month (every 4-5 weeks) and always, ALWAYS leave happy. I highly recommend Bethany for your eyebrow needs - I have also included a photo of my brows the day after having them waxed (I was happy despite my solemn expression).

I decided it was time to get back to my lash extensions because I love how I look and feel when I have them. A friend of mine has been getting her extensions by Selinna at Gem Salon for years so I asked if she was willing to share her with me and I'm so glad she said yes :) At my first visit with Selinna, I did not come prepared with pictures of how I've always liked my lash extensions. I like them bold and long which I described, but that's about the only guidance I gave her. Selinna has been amazing at checking in with me to make sure that my lashes are what I want including length, shape, and fullness. I brought in some pictures at our next session to show her what I was looking for and she immediately started working on getting me my preferred lash extensions. It's clear that she values her clients and loves her work by the care she puts into making my experience as amazing as possible each time. I've only been getting my lashes done with Selinna since December 2025 and I've already booked all of my lash appointments through 2026 since she books up fast. Selinna also offers UV lash extensions which are designed to be easier and faster application; they use a different adhesive that cures faster and could be helpful for anyone who experiences irritation with the regular adhesive. I'm sure there's other benefits to them, but I'll leave that to the experts to chat about :) She also offers colored lashes if you're interested in spicing up your extensions for a special occasion or any other day. Pricing is consistent with other lash places that I've been to around town. The studio is beautiful, clean, and cozy. I usually end up talking to Selinna (and laughing) for a good portion of our session, but I've definitely fallen asleep on that chair a couple times. I always bring in my own blanket and zen out. I absolutely adore Selinna! She's an amazing lash artist. She's friendly, kind, and genuinely cares about her clients and making them feel their best. I would highly recommend Gem Salon for lash extensions!
