I can't say enough great things about Moberg's Auto Repair. My partner brought his vehicle there…read morelast year after getting a quote from the dealership for over $7K in work. Moberg's was able to tell him exactly what needed to be done and performed the required work for $1200. So, I just recently brought my 2009 Honda Fit in to get the clutch replaced and diagnose a screech when I started in cold weather. Mike was able to diagnose that I did not need a new clutch and the screech was most likely from a worn serpentine belt. Total $150. They could have easily just replaced the clutch and made a lot more $ and I wouldn't have known the difference. Now that is remarkable (shouldn't be but in these times it is). I would tell anyone to go there for good, reliable, honest work.

I found out about this shop from a military Facebook page, so I decided to give them a shot at fixing the car. They arranged a tow from my house and had all of the car's problems diagnosed within a couple days. The estimate that they gave me was very fair. When they started working on all of the cars issues they were very fast and had the car back within a week and once I started driving it the car ran very well. IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A MECHANIC WHO DOES GREAT WORK AT A FAIR PRICE I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND MICHIGAN AUTO SERVICE BODY AND TIRE! They also look out for military service members.

If anyone needs a good auto repair shop, I highly recommend Jim at Sparks Computerized Car Care…read more I went to see Jim based on local recommendations and the outstanding reviews on Yelp and I am so glad I did. I went in for a routine check up and thought my breaks needed work. It turns out, the breaks are fine, it was a bad water pump that was making noise in the front of the engine. Rather than charging me a ton of money to fix it, Jim took the time to call my VIN number into the manufacturer and found that my vehicle is still covered under the power train warranty. He advised me to go to the dealership for the repairs where they fixed it under warranty at no charge! Jim also noticed that my tires were low on tread and had some cracking, he gave me an estimate for a new set of tires. I called around to many other places to shop for the best price (same tires) and he was hands down the best I could find. No one could even match his estimate. I am getting a set of brand new tires and my oil changed with Jim for $130 less than what the dealership wanted to charge me for the tires alone. Please, go see Jim at Sparks in Lake Zurich. He is an honest guy who knows what he is doing!

However, the current manager is a Mexican guy named Jose who has a terrible attitude. He frequently dismisses customers--insisting on appointments a week in advance by claiming he's too busy--and treats people with utter disregard, arrogance, and rudeness. Not only did he insist I take a tire covered by insurance to Costco for replacement instead of handling it himself, but he also failed to fully fix an abnormal noise coming from the parking brake! I made an appointment a week in advance for repairs, yet he told me to take the car away without even inspecting it, claiming the job would take too long. He constantly makes excuses to shirk responsibility. I strongly advise against using this repair shop; this lousy individual has completely ruined what used to be an excellent business!
