This is a good overground train station with trains that go to Waterloo station in Central London. Having this line makes a day trip out of London to Windsor very easy and affordable if you do not want to take a tour on a tour bus. For us, we were able to find a late morning train and got to Windsor & Eaton in around a half hour. The train was nice and air conditioned and when we pulled into the station it was easy to exit and find our way to the items on our list including a trip to the castle and a boat tour. The attendants at the station were very nice when we returned and let us know which train we needed to board. The station is small but it does have two platforms and a little news stand with refreshments.

Windsor Royal Station is a nice little shopping mall located in the heart of Windsor, right across…read morethe way from Windsor Castle. It serves as a shopping mall and a train station. You'll find shops for apparel and accessories, fragrance, jewelry, and even cigars. There's also a number of eateries, coffee shops, and a pretty little milk tea/boba cafe. Whether you just want to grab and go or sit down and relax, there's something for everyone. We browsed around for a bit, but mostly went there to check out the pretty milk tea shop which was surprisingly tasty! The decor was lovely as well and I can still taste that wonderful cheese tea topping. Overall, it's a nice, quick stop while in Windsor. They do close quite early at 6pm (except on Sundays, they close at 5pm), so plan accordingly.

I'll assume that it's the whole thing. The train side of the whole thing is, as I said, just one track. The train goes into the nearby town/city of Slough. And I'm pretty sure that is the only place that it goes. From there you change trains for other destinations such as London in one direction and Reading in another. There is also another train station that is about a 10-15 minute walk from this one though and I caught that train the other day to Twickenham (London) to see the rugby. Overall, it's a nice old-y world-y comfortable feeling that the place gives you. You can shop at the outdoor (really indoor) market stall or have a cup of coffee or even a really good meal at one of the cafes and/or restaurants. Obviously a great place to be when its raining outside.

However, the station building itself is still standing, but it is now basically a shopping mall. It is interesting to see all of the people come out here first thing in the morning, mainly to ride their bikes, but also to go for walks in the park. It is centrally located, almost opposite the entrance to Windsor Castle. The station is at the end of an impressive curved brick viaduct leading to the Windsor Railway Bridge, which was designed by Brunel and is one of the oldest wrought iron railway bridges still in use. The original station was rebuilt in 1897 for Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee, with 5 platforms and graceful curved glass roofs. Reduced in size since the 1960s, much of the station has been developed into a shopping arcade, and the trains terminate in a short single platform almost hidden at the rear of the building. The station was the location of a Madame Tussaud's exhibit from 1982 until the late 1990s. The only remnant of this is a replica of the Great Western "Dean Single" Class locomotive, named "the Queen". (The real original was assigned to Royal train duties.) Services to Slough operate every 20 minutes, and take just 6 minutes, for frequent fast connections to Paddington, Oxford and Reading.

After 40 minutes of waiting at the train station and looking for the driver, I took another taxi. During my ride on the other taxi, the owner of Green Star Cars texted me claiming that his driver had arrived at the train station on time and waited for me for an hour before leaving without me. I asked whether his driver had displayed a sign with my name or my company name, he replied no. I asked him why he had not called me sooner and he claimed his calls were not going through. I asked him why he had not texted me instead and he said he had tried but the texts were not going through either. He then said that he planned on getting paid for the trip his driver had supposedly made, Up to this point, I have never had problems with drivers scheduled to pick me up. The lies this company will tell you and the lack of responsibility that they will show are as bad as their unreliability and unprofessional behavior. Avoid this company.

Booked an arrival and return pick-up, for a total of 98 British Pounds. Not bad at all for a two way ride! ( A Black Cab will cost over 100 Pounds one-way from the airport) My driver called my cell phone at pre-arranged time, upon landing at Heathrow. He greeted us at the arrival exit, with a placard with my full name on it. The driver was very courteous and helpful with our luggage to the car. Bottles of waters are available in the car. On our return trip to the airport, the assigned driver arrived at the hotel early for pick-up and gave me a call. No stress and no-frills impeccable service! Highly recommended for travelers arriving in London with spouse/family and a lot of luggage! I cant imagine people travelling any other way!

They forgot about the basic needs of someone waiting for a bus. The buses are not that frequent...between every 30 minutes to around 90 minutes. A three mile journey to the residential areas can easily take over 30 minutes, plus waiting time. The only shelter is provided to the BUS DRIVERS who have an air conditioned canteen The PAYING COMMUTER gets treated like dirt, that is why they pay a bomb for the so called "service" and have to tolerate THIRD WORLD conditions: NO PROTECTION from wind, rain or snow NO ADEQUATE SEATS NO TOILETS NO WAITING ROOM it's only useful if you are coming from the train station to Windsor or Heathrow where buses are a bit more frequent. For locals it is a taxpayers nightmare, especially for the elderly and disabled, or those with young children, pushchairs or heavy bags.
