I was nervous about going on my own but they made me very comfortable straight away, they are a very friendly and welcoming group. I'm going to book on to some more events with them now and I'm looking forward to them already! Definitely recommend this club.

We all decided on a pork chop with mustard cream sauce and a black cherry creme brulee for dessert. We all liked our lunch (the pork chop was respectably done) and the dessert was fantastic! I would gladly go back for the creme brulee (I think it was one of the best I've ever had). The room we were sitting in was a cute little room, all very English looking. The good deal turned out to be an even better deal as we got one of our meals for free, so for three people we paid only £20. Can't beat that! The reason why I say I wonder if times are tough is because on the website, it looks as if the place is only for members. However, they let us hoi polloi in and treated us very very well.

We had a 2 course dinner served to ~30 people. It was a little slow on service (despite pre-ordering) but the food was good and cost £17. The bar is pricey but when you're used to student prices this can be expected.

The beer was very cheap but was still of a very good quality, the staff & club members were very friendly and made me feel at home, I ended up getting chatting to some of the people in the end as I have an allegiance with West Ham United FC. The furniture was nice, there were screens for the current sporting events and there was plenty of social activities i.e. darts, pool etc. The club was very busy and quite packed, that should tell you something and I really enjoyed my time there!

Every saturday night theres a live band , a fair few acts seem to rotate the year. You have to be a member to come to general foods but application forms are avaliable if you pop in. A club for the older generation but a great night of fun.

Nice, friendly, helpful people, all ages welcome and reasonably priced drinks as well. Utterly fantastic.
