Unfortunately, I had a bad experience working with M. Nariman…read more He takes on jobs he has never done before. He talks a lot and sounds confident, but in reality it's not true. He agreed to install wallpaper. I asked him three times if he had experience and knew how to do it. He assured me he did and claimed he does this kind of work almost every day. In the end, the job was done very poorly. I had to hire another person to redo everything. Save your money and your time -- he is not reliable. There are always excuses, and in the end he stops answering calls, even after being paid. That was my mistake. I do not recommend working with him.

I contacted Icarus Services yesterday to repair a bedroom window at my sister's home. The…read moretechnician arrived while I was not present. He began the repair and initially quoted approximately $350. My sister was surprised by the high price, but because the window was unstable and at risk of falling, she felt pressured to proceed. After about 10 minutes of work, during which he had already removed the window from its frame, the technician informed her that the repair would actually cost $530, claiming he had discovered additional issues. At that point, my sister felt she had no choice but to agree, since the window was already removed and she could not stop the repair midway. The entire repair took about 40 minutes. The parts he replaced--shown in the attached photos--cost approximately $75 when purchased retail. This means the company charged $465 for 40 minutes of labour, which is unreasonable by any industry standard. At the end of the job, the technician requested cash payment, stating that he would "not charge taxes" if paid in cash. This is highly unprofessional and raises serious concerns. The following day, I contacted management to file a complaint. They were dismissive and only provided a receipt after I insisted and mentioned the technician's cash request. The receipt they issued is not itemized--no breakdown of parts, labour, or time spent--despite my request. This lack of transparency is unacceptable and appears intentional. I have home camera footage confirming the technician was present for only 40-45 minutes. I also have proof of the actual part costs. There is no justification for the inflated price, the mid job price increase, or the refusal to provide an itemized invoice. Lessons learned (and advice for others): * Always demand a final price before any work begins. * Never allow a contractor to change the price mid job. * Request an itemized estimate (parts + labour) before they start. * Ensure the time billed matches the actual time spent. * Always insist on an itemized receipt. A vague receipt is a red flag. I acknowledge that I made the mistake of allowing the work to begin without a confirmed final price, and my sister felt pressured. However, the company's behaviour--price changes mid job, refusal to itemize, and a request for cash to avoid taxes--is unacceptable and unprofessional. In my experience, this company's practices are predatory, and I would strongly caution others to avoid them

We had this company install epoxy flooring in our garage, backed by a one-year warranty. Within the…read morewarranty period, we started noticing significant issues with the coating [add specifics: e.g., peeling, bubbling, cracking, discoloration]. We contacted them right away to have it addressed. That was over 4 months ago. Despite repeated follow-ups, no one has come out to inspect or repair the work, and we've received no clear timeline or explanation for the delay. A warranty is only as good as the company's willingness to honor it, and so far that hasn't happened here. We'd gladly update this review if they follow through, but based on our experience, I can't recommend them until they start standing behind their own warranty.

DO NOT HIRE! I was referred to Robert by his "partner", who had done work for me in the past but…read morewas too busy to take the job. Originally told I would save money by hiring Robert, I ended up thousands over budget and I had to have aspects of the renovation completely redone because the workmanship was so poor. Heavy pencil marks on the floor, paint smeared on the floor rather than properly cleaned (can't get it up now), paint on the ceilings, no cutting-in, coloured paint all over the trim, ZERO prep (painted over peeling paint), no drop sheets, rude and arrogant attitude, property broken. The floors dip in places because the concrete underneath wasn't removed properly. He refused to fix the paint job or the floors and left approximately $1,500.00 work unfinished. Thankfully, I hadn't paid him the last $1,500.00. One of the reviews listed has been written by the fellow Robert contracts to install kitchens - his folks installed mine. Kind of suspect, don't you think? He didn't finish the job either. Robert will show you many pictures of kitchens he says he has done. He does none of the work himself. All the work he did himself in my home was crappy - all of it. A terrible experience from beginning to end. I just wish I still had photos of the poor work he did.

She came with Mike to work with me and found the best solution at the best cost for the issue I was having. He fixed the job quickly and efficiently and I will be calling them again!

Kudos to Matt and his team at Painting Picasso…read more Every interaction with your company was positive, I was impressed that you.... * Incorporated and have liability insurance * Quoted the job with attention to detail and there was a contract * Provided a list of things that I needed to do before your arrival * Arrived on time * Did what you committed to do * Flexible: minor drywall repairs in the bathroom were not part of the quoted job. * Sought my input while you were working. * Completed the job within 1/2 hour of the estimated time. * Helpful: the heavy dressers and bed were moved (although I should have done it, and you positioned back in place, precisely where the holes were!) * Cleaned up after the job was done. * Removed your supplies/tools without scratching my doors and all garbage. * Charged me the contracted price.
