    Hired this company to do a chimney sweep and move out inspection. Decided to go with this company…read morebecause the fee was almost half of all other companies in Jacksonville, and my husband and I are moving out of state in two weeks, and they could get the job done before then.. The employee who picked up the phone was rude and would talk over both my husband and I, every time we called, on multiple locations. I was able to ignore this and continue on with business though. Had the cleaning and inspection scheduled for Friday at 2pm. The guy never showed up or bothered calling... finally he called back on Saturday and the phone was really choppy, so we couldn't reschedule. On Monday, I was sitting in a chair (which happens to be located at my front door) and a white van pulls up and parks in my driveway. The van was advertising a tile and grout removal company, and since I hadn't called one for services I watched the van extra carefully. I looked down for a moment, and when I looked back up the van was backing out and had parked in the street in front of my house. He stayed there for less than a minute, and left. Next thing I know my husband calls me, and tells me the chimney sweep guy came by and that he says he 'knocked, but I didn't answer'. Look, if the company had something else to do at that time, they could've just called and rescheduled vice pulling this deceiving stunt. No one likes companies who lie!! He came back hours later and decided he was going to park on my grass, and pulled RIGHT up to the front door. ARE YOU KIDDING ME????? Some people may not be anal about their grass - but we are trying to rent our house out, and we sure as hell don't need this company destroying our property!!! When we asked him to move his van he seemed dumbfounded. REALLY? I didn't even trust this guy to be our house without supervision - I've never had this problem with any other company. When he finally finished the job (only took a few minutes) everything was fine. I just wanted him out!

I end up moving out of state and trusting he would do the job, so I left the key with a neighbor. While waiting for him to inspect the chimney, the cleaning company flaked out on me. I can say in the end this company did save the day. They may not be on time, all the time however Chris said if he gives you his word, he will do it. His company end up doing my entire move out clean, carpets, and chimney inspection. I passed the first time. The only reason I'm giving 4 starts is due to the fact of punctuality and some business practices I don't agree with. But his work is above average.

    I had my first Chimney Sweeping experience this morning with Jacksonville Chimney Sweeps…read more I had called them based on various reviews I had seen on other sites- it took about two days for the wife to return my call, but she was exceptionally apologetic, explaining how busy they have been and how she doesn't like to call people later in the evening. She was sweet and explained how I could check her husbands credentials online and even gave me an estimate over the phone based on my description of our fireplace. The fall seems like their busy season, so if you are able to be patient and recognize this is a husband/wife duo doing everything, it's well worth it in the end. When the guy (I THINK his name is Peter) arrived (on time), he went straight to work, but was friendly and approachable. He stayed for about an hour, giving me the do's and don'ts of fire starting, product buying and safety measures. He really knows his stuff and I didn't feel like he was (pardon the expression) blowing smoke up my a$$. He ended up charging me quite a bit less because our chute was clean and only needed to be inspected for safety. He also found a little lizard up there and sent him to safety outside. Based on their friendliness, promptness, cost and knowledge, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this company to others. Hopefully they have the same positive experience.

I called like five times only to get a voice mail about cleaning Santa's chimney. I left a message and never heard a word back. I needed this inspection last minute to close on my home and he pushed it further back due to having to find someone else. This company is not worth your valuable time......He was the only one I could find that wasn't to busy to get it done the next day. I totally understand why now...:(

I had to continuously call every day to get them to do their job and back their "pass inspection garauntee". The owner is irresponsible and unprofessional. After I hired him and told my realtor, she was pissed to say the least. She'd delt with them in the past and knew the headache that was ahead. They charged us an extra $25 and didn't tell us or explain it, they took 2 weeks to do a 1 day job. And even after they finished, they took another week to drop off they key so the inspection could be done. All the while I'm still paying rent and utilities. Not only did they never apologize or compensate for the delay, the guy actually tried to justify the wrong that that were causing on a daily basis. I broke my window and got a replacement for it. They actually TOOK MY NEW WINDOW AND REPLACED IT WITH AN OLD DIRTY PIECE OF CRAP! I hope this guy realizes how luckey he is to own a legit business and overcomes his flaws to become great. They have the potential. But as it stands, he's a terrible leader and as a result has an incompetent crew. Save yourself the grey hairs, DO NOT give "his master's" your money.

    I have been a tenant with them for over a year now…read more I have never been late on my rent. I have had issues with them sending strangers to my house, never scheduling the appointments with me first, or even verifying someone coming to my home. My privacy has been violated, on top of the constant harassment, they have raised my rent because I refuse to sign another lease. Not only am I receiving additional stress from financial pressure, as well as constant traffic from strangers in/ out of my home, the intimidation aspect they try and pull on someone is just appalling.

We decided to rent one of Choice's properties over at 445 Spring Drive in Jacksonville N.C. The last tenants left that house a mess. The house suffered minor roof damage from Hurricane Florence which led to leaks in both guest bedrooms and the garage. Choice was so inconsiderate when it came down to trying to get that roof repaired. In late October /early November , they sent 4 different adjusters over to the house to assess the damages and all 4 times , choice demanded for someone to be home. (notices came literally 1 day before). The roof didn't get repaired until January 28th Thanksgiving was November 22nd. November 23rd, our refrigerator stopped working resulting in us losing all of our food. I reported it to choice immediately. Around November 27th, they sent repair man #1 out to look at the refrigerator and he said that we needed a whole new unit . I relayed the message to Choice and they told me that they wanted a second opinion. We waited another 3 days for repair man #2 to show up for him to say the exact same thing as #1. They finally decided to replace the refrigerator and we had to wait for Lowe's to deliver a new one. That took another 3 days. Choice didn't apologize not one time nor did they offer to compensate us for lost food. We received military orders to the west coast and had to end the lease early. We've only been in the home for 3 months & a half and Choice charged us over 1000.00 in fees and charges. Stephanie admitted to the carpet having permanent brown stains (which I notated at move-in) but she still expected me to have the carpet professionally cleaned. She also conducted a move out inspection without bringing the move in checklist to the inspection. She dinged us for things we notated at move-in. This is absurd ! People! Save yourselves the headache and rent elsewhere.!!!
