I referred my boyfriend to this company because he loved my apartment so much. I loved this unit because it had 1 1/2 bathrooms which was a nice touch if we had visitors or the other bathroom was taken. It was also within reasonable driving distance to the highway, and other attractions around town. A private garage was also available for people to rent. When we moved away from Michigan, we were really sad to move away from these properties because they truly valued their customers. We actually looked to see if they had any properties in Pennsylvania but they didn't Koetje, you should consider owning some properties here, I'd move in!!). The communities were very clean. The maintenance employees were friendly and approachable. Still, I think the best part of the company was the management team. I continue to have many friends who reside in Michigan, and I continue to refer them to Koetje properties. You will not be disappointed, and that is why I decided to write this review 16 months after having moved away.

No online portal to pay your rent, have to mail in a physical check. and…read moreif you have maintenance issues, you have to call in to let someone know, and you aren't given a timeframe on when somebody might stop in to fix an issue (was surprised on a Saturday afternoon one weekend to a knock on my door). People in the office are nice enough to deal with. You are better off to call, email could take a while to get a response if at all. One of the tenants in the building I lived in had someone not on the lease living in their unit, and both smoked in the building. They were made aware of the issues, but continued to allow the person not on the lease to live in the building. They will dock you for everything little thing when you move out. So please, document everything and take lot of pictures to protect yourself.

terrible staff and management, paper thin walls. countless ignored messages to staff, they never…read moreanswer their phone and their voicemail is always full so you can't leave a message. most the gym equipment is half broken or doesn't work most the time. apartments aren't really insulated or sealed properly either. shitty windows that let a draft in even when "shut". you can hear neighbors cough, sneeze, you can hear their music all day from all directions because it's not just one neighbor it's the way the place is built. be prepared to hear dogs barking all day with the thin walls. you can hear all conversations and activities outside including the staff performing their tours right outside your door since the walls are so thin. most the time there's trash piled up in the garbage bin either, gross. I could go on.

Not to mention they play games with our rent charges. They recently left a $0.01 cent charge AFTER charging me rent. Why? Very frustrating to say the least. Not to mention they go through property managers like candy. How hard can it be to keep one person around for more than a few months? Overall, I'd say this place needs some improvements before I would recommend living here.

On the other hand I'm giving maintenance team Aric & Cody 10 stars. They're outstanding. Work is thorough, clean & prompt. Every single time!
