Very old school mindset. No online portal to pay your rent, have to mail in a physical check. and if you have maintenance issues, you have to call in to let someone know, and you aren't given a timeframe on when somebody might stop in to fix an issue (was surprised on a Saturday afternoon one weekend to a knock on my door). People in the office are nice enough to deal with. You are better off to call, email could take a while to get a response if at all. One of the tenants in the building I lived in had someone not on the lease living in their unit, and both smoked in the building. They were made aware of the issues, but continued to allow the person not on the lease to live in the building. They will dock you for everything little thing when you move out. So please, document everything and take lot of pictures to protect yourself. read more

I have rented from Keystone Properties twice over the years. I came back the second time because I had such a good experience the first time. The second time we rented with them for 4+ years. Ed is very nice, responsive and great to work with, as is Londa. They always responded to any repair requests, issues or questions very promptly and gave ample notice before needing to enter the unit. Over the years we have rented from several different companies through college and graduate school. This management company is the sleaziest we have dealt with. Some recommendations we have for anyone considering renting from this company or dealing with "Ed" the manager. If at all possible avoid them and save the agony. If you are forced to get a rental with them due to availability and timing issues. Make sure you get everything in writing or in email. Go through the property with a video camera prior to and just prior to leaving the property, use a newspaper to time stamp the video. Completely fill out the security deposit form. This company deploys low level scams to attempt to steal money from its tenants. Specifically they will try to claim the entire security deposit regardless of the condition of the property. They also randomly go through the properties when you are not present and without notification, so protect your belongings. Luckily we had read reviews like this, that were online prior to our renting so we were prepared. It was still a battle. Also, don't be afraid to take them to court, they are known in the courts here for there poor business practices and will lose. We didn't fully think companies like this existed in holland but we were glad we had covered ourselves. If at all possible avoid these low life crooks! read more

Chris, is very sad that now you come and state that there was not rental history verification. You are admitting you didn't do your job correctly and made a decision out of not wanting to take the time to complete a process of an application before giving a denial. Sad, Sad, Sad, And your response about calling the Landlord and they didn't speak English. Sad, Sad, Sad. You should have someone that has a bilingual skill and is able to verified and make sure things are done the right way. So there was NO rental verification. Sad, Sad, Sad . What you are saying, is that because the Landlord didn't speak English you made the decision to say that the applicant didn't meet credit and rental history. Instead of taking the time to verified and get the rental history and also taking the time to verified the job history as well. Just because of the credit score and no verification on rental you gave up and said forget it, "This people are not worth the time of day!" If you would have taken the time to verified the rental and job history, you would have found out that the applicants were hard working people that never paid their rent late and always paid on time. If you would have call the employment, you would have gotten, nothing but great references of the employment. Husband has never once being late for work, never has missed one day, unless is vacation time and they have never had disciplinary actions against him. I never said or stated you were non-profit. My sadness and disappointment, was, that you didn't take the time to look at or verified on the great references this family had going for them. Would some people call it discrimination??? Probably !! I would call it wrong doing. Of course you would come up with all the excuses possible to justified, that you didn't take the necessary steps to make this application complete. You even admitted that this family is a very nice family, but still didn't take the time to make sure the necessary steps were taken to fully complete the application. Sad, Sad, Sad! Is more than obvious, that you will not do anything to make this right. I hope that next time you take the time to do things right and have the humbleness of accepting your mistake of an incomplete application verification process. read more
