We visited dozens of sites on the internet, and drove to six places in the north Dallas area. The one place that jumped out to us was Parkview in Frisco. We have never been sorry that we chose this as our home. It is a an attractive facility, and the landscaping is beautiful. Parkview has several different floor plans and apartment sizes, but we chose a two bedroom, two bath apartment that meets our needs perfectly. It has a modern kitchen, large living/dining room and a comfortable balcony with a view. All utility expenses (except TV and phone) are included. Our maintenance needs are also included and fixed rapidly just by a phone call. But it is the friendly residents and serving staff that puts Parkview ahead of other retirement complexes. Smiles and hello's greet you in the hallways and warm conversations are the norm in the dining room. And by the way, the food and service iin our Embers Restaurant is first class, with a wide variety of selections and all prepared and served well. We love to take cruise vacations, and our life "aboard" Parkview is very much like that on a premium cruise ship: daily activities, entertainment, dining, etc. So if you are looking for a retirement place, you should come by Parkview in Frisco. We think you will like it . . . we certainly do. Bob M P.S. Here's a link to a website we publish highlighting life here at Parkview in Frisco: www.parkviewers.com

I've noticed that there's ALWAYS a happy buzz in the restaurant - which to me says a lot about how much people enjoy themselves and I've NEVER seen that so consistently at any of the other many many communities that I've been to - and the food is GREAT! Parkview actually have the ONLY restaurant that I've been to in the US where I can get a salmon cooked and served as it should be - and I'm from northern Sweden so I definitely know my salmon! :-D ...and the grilled chicken salad with the Chef's homemade dressing - O M G it's so fingerlickin' gooooood I wished they sold it bottled!! The last time I visited, I got the chance to see their new Assisted Living and Memory Care next door and...WOW!! That is the most astonishing AL/MC that I've EVER seen - on any side of the Atlantic ocean! It seriously looks like a serene SPA with a Texas-twist - it's sooooo beautiful in every little detail and it's amazingly well thought through to help the residents thrive. It totally astonished me and still, I have a veeeery critical eye when it comes to living conditions and surroundings! :-D I definitely recommend this place! :-)

Mom looked at Bethesda and one other and decided Bethesda is where she wanted to be. The rooms are spacious. She is fed 3 times a day. A very hearty breakfast. Sometimes the meals don't appeal to her or her tablemates. But they can always order something else. It is not gourmet, but fills the stomach. Yes there are some bumps in service, but I bring to the attention of management and Summer, Chantal and Tina Marie make sure to work on it. My mother participates in bingo 4 times a week and casino outings, sometime restaurant outings. Lots of opportunities for activities and exercise and music. In general we are pleased with the facility. Mom in her later years is happy to have her own home and autonomy. Bethesda is Mom's home.

His time at Bethesda saw his old self coming back out. He was talking & joking & making friends. At mealtimes he sat at a table with 5 other gentlemen & felt a part of the group. His pride & joy was an apron one of the men gave to him to prevent spilling on himself (all the guys at the table wore one) He has now broken his back twice, had Covid twice & had a couple more falls without breaking any bones. Needless to say, he needs more skilled care & it's breaking our hearts to have to move him from Bethesda. If you are fortunate enough to have your loved one live at Bethesda, you won't be sorry! I will sing their praises from here to eternity

The apartments are nice, but the maintenance is lacking. Once you get there, you find out that most of the residents do not eat at Watermere. They go to the restaurants surrounding it. One of the reasons my father wanted to go to an independent living place was because he was tired of eating alone, so he found this disappointing. But, once you eat the food, you understand why most residents don't eat there. It is terrible, and they charge the residents high cost for the subpar food. They recently went to a flat fee for the meal. They often run out of something, but you are charged for the item in the large fee even though they ran out of something. I think the manager should be forced to eat it every day, maybe it would improve. There also seems to be turnover in upper management. They seem like they want to fix the issues but their hands are tied. This place has such potential but it just seems poorly managed. It's not cheap, so where is all of the money going?

So finding the right spot was very important to us as our Mother and Sister lived in our house for 31 years. We knew they had to be someplace they would be happy. There like little apartments with all of their home furnishings around them. But let me be the first one to tell you we couldn't be happier we found the Parsons House. Beautiful home like setting. Parsons house has all levels of care. They will watch and take care of your loved ones very closely. As well as a staff whom has become their surrogate family and genuinely cares about both of their well beings giving us the family tremendous peace of mind. We did hang on for a little while but when we saw how things were running smoothly and the caretakers were becoming like family to them we backed off. It was a very difficult decision to leave your beloved family members that you have cared for soo long over to someone else's hands but when we saw the excellent personal care they were getting it got easy. My sister loves the activities Karen the director plans all kinds of different things for the residents to do. Takes them out on outings. Goes to the Casino and Botanical Gardens. As well as lunch outings. Robin Payne the Director is awesome and will take care of all of your needs. She makes the residents feel like family. And for the holidays The Parsons House is decorated better than my house as well as the other holidays for the year. My mom goes to exercise and loves the food. (Unbelievable because she was a great Polish cook). Bridgette overseas the medical and will address and inform you of any issues she see brewing. Her staff will also take note of the resident's behavior and wellbeing and keep us informed. So if this can be of any help to future family members that are making the difficult decision on where to put their family members please offer this letter to them or give them my number for a personal referral. Best of luck to you with your aging parent. Blessings! Jill

When we first moved her in the director was new and was really working on having the facility live up to their advertisement. As the weeks and months went on it was apparent that this was not the case. The director was good but had a lot of push back from the upper management from what I heard and A LOT of turnovers. They fired the director a few months in and put a temporary person in there for a while and then the Allen director who stayed in Allen. I worried about my mom being there with no supervisor over the caregivers. You didn't know what they were doing and there were some caregivers that were definitely not trained to take care of someone. My mom cannot walk and needed a Lyft to be moved to the recliner, wheelchair or shower. They were always telling her that they didn't have anyone there that could move her with the Lyft. When discussing this with the sales lady it was said that this would not be a problem. She was also supposed to be in a house with other residents that were in wheelchairs etc. when later they moved her to the house next door with memory care residents. That was a whole new set of problems. (still not sure why they did this, not all residents were like that at the beginning) One of which was a resident who came into my mom's room and peed by my mom's recliner. He was also constantly coming into her room. As I said before she cannot walk and cannot help in keeping him out. My mom has her wits about her as she just cannot walk or take care of herself in some ways. She depends on her caregivers. So many things had been addressed with no real results. We finally realized we needed to move her out. This caused us to pay more money for fees for a new facility and even 16 days that she wasn't at Mustang Creek which was around $1800.00 more to them. Mustang Creek's management would not even answer mine or my sister's email or phone calls once we gave notice to move her out. I could go on and on like leaving her in the shower so long she almost slipped out of her chair and did not want to shower anymore. She had bed baths from then on. And extra activities that seemed to be going on at some point in the parking lot with resident's prescriptions. Jewelry did go missing from my mom's room. Which is probably on us since we should not have trusted that someone wouldn't take it. What can you do as there were so many caregivers in and out all the time. Please do not put your loved one in this facility. No matter how much research you do a facility will never be better than your care. Always go and visit because you don't know what is really going on and when you show up you can see for yourself. My mom is now at Beehive in Frisco which has so far been a good change for her. I HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND MUSTANG CREEK ESTATES IN FRISCO.

The price to live at The Landing was exorbitant for what my Mother actually received in daily care. I naively assumed that with the overall beautiful look of the facility and the high cost to live there that the level of care would match accordingly. I was paying for EXCELLENCE! My hopes were quickly diminished. The Aides that were there- and had been there a long time- had terrible attitudes. It was as though they hated being there. I communicated with the Director of the floor, regularly, to make problems known, as I hoped for change in behavior towards my Mom. The Director was super-helpful & did everything in her power to correct the problems! She had meetings, hired new people, & sadly, very little changed. As people were fired & some good new people were hired, it seemed as though this was more of a "systemic problem". Actual change did not occur. The food was very poor quality- I heard one woman describe it as worse than food given in prison. (Imagine school lunch 1975) My Mother lost 20 lbs in the first 3 months, she was down to 97 lbs! The Aides nor Nurses on staff did anything to try to help her find something else to eat. Simply shrugged their shoulders. Her daily routine was: -Get her out of bed in the morning for breakfast. They may or may not put clean clothes on her. May or may not brush her teeth and hair. After breakfast they Put her back in her bed, in the dark, for 4 hours until lunch. -They'd get her up & take her to lunch. Bring her back to her room and may or may not change her dirty briefs, & Leave her in her bed, flat, in the dark, staring at the ceiling, for 4 more hours until dinner. -They'd get her up for dinner, bring her back and put her in bed by 6:00pm, May or may not change her dirty brief, & Leave her in the dark in her bed until 5:00am the next morning when they changed her brief and left again. ****This is not a LIFE!**** It was almost as though they were just waiting for her to die. And I believe she would have if I had not intervened. When I realized the Aides had no planned routine they followed daily, & no one ever seemed "to know anything" about her care routine & who was responsible for what. I finally made a specific list of daily care for her since they had NO care report to follow other than 1. take her to eat and 2. make the bed. These instructions aren't complicated or unreasonable things: Change her clothes daily. Brush her hair & teeth. Change her brief at least every 4 hours. Turn the lights on in her room- open the blinds. Make sure she has fresh water & it's beside her. Don't use her food tray for diaper changes! After several months of fruitless negotiations with her Aides & their terrible attitudes, As a last resort, I took my concerns to meet with the Executive Director & he was talking to Corporate & as it turns out, Corporate was very upset with ME that the Aides were having to follow private instructions daily! They clearly didn't want to make changes & I never heard back from the them or the Director at all! I have everything on photos & videos as well as endless emails listing the lack of care & proper attention on any given day. *Bruises, cuts that took weeks to heal. *Sores on her bottom where her brief was not changed often 8-16 hours between changes. It happened MANY times! It's truly disgusting. (It is the LAW that briefs be checked & changed every 2 hours!) *Dirty gloves, used in changing her briefs, were not removed- handling her clothes, wheelchair, tables, doorknobs, etc. *Diaper changing items placed on her rolling food table during changings. *Dirty clothes hanging all over the room & then put back in her closet dirty. The list goes on. *The RN they are so proud to have on the 3rd floor to have "Hospital Level Care" is actually responsible for making rounds to the other 2 floors in their shift. This means they are very rarely at their Nurses Station seat to monitor the 3rd Floor because they are spread so thin working on the other floors. *Aides are given a certain number of patients they are responsible for, but some people require a lot of time in a shift due to their ailments, so the Aides end up almost ignoring the ones that are "easy" because they don't "need" as much - Or they hand them off to a newly trained Aide that doesn't have experience & doesn't look around to see what is actually needed. In the end, As I was preparing to move my Mom out, I found out that even the people in the leadership positions on the Landing 3rd floor started leaving over the last 2 months we were there. I hope things have improved and it's possible it has-but potential new Guests or current Guest families need to be aware! Get a good camera for your loved one. The saddest part is that I KNOW my Mom isn't the only person these things happened to.

I said , "Then how did you guys send people to my house in the first place?" They still have not answered that question. I still should be having PT sessions , it was knee surgery, the Dr. office did send that over (I checked) , and still no services and no calls from this company when I should be having therapy.
