This place was awesome!! My boyfriend and I are back in Lincoln City for a few days, once again staying at his mom's beach house. The three of us did a tour of all the antique shops in the city and we stumbled upon this one. Winddriven has a huge selection of toys, games, and even kites. I enjoy doing puzzles in my free time and I picked one up to add to my collection back home. The puzzle was a cat putting together a puzzle and I thought that was so cute! So I ended up buying that one and I can't wait to put it together! I also tried out one of those Chinese yo-yos that they had on display. It was fun to play with! The service was fantastic. The lady that checked us out was super friendly and she ended up giving us $2 off our purchase because my boyfriend's mom has been here a couple of times. That's another thing that I liked about this store. I recommend this place to anyone looking for new toys, games, and kites. I didn't catch the name of the woman that was helping everyone, but she was friendly and knowledgeable about kites, flags, and everything else they sell. I haven't found a better selection of kites in this local area unless you drive down to Newport. that being said, you won't find a friendlier person to help you anywhere. They have a good selection of kids kites, adult kites, and sport kites, if you're wanting to give that a go. Definitely worth a stop if you are thinking of a kite purchase. We stopped in here to check out kites. My boyfriend hadn't had a kite since he was little. We didn't end up buying one but had a great time looking around and talking with the lady in there. She knows what she's selling in there for sure and the quality of that. My boyfriend particularly liked the puzzles with motors. Intricate things... UGears mechanical models they were called. I don't review often but this place is great. I brought my kids in today to purchase a kite and we were immediately helped and given tons of advice for buying a kite. She was really patient and explained their guarantee that every kite will fly. I was also surprised how affordable they are and we even bought two little kites for $5 that fly great. WOW! Great wind toy shop (next door to Deli 101) Spinners, kites, windsocks, flags and banners.... Plus, they carry a wide selection of Folkmanis puppets (dozens to pick from -- and Folkmanis really does make the best hand and finger puppets in the world...) and other good toys as well. We walked out with a beautiful tiger-dragon kite for the upcoming Kite Festival in June (and the upcoming holiday weekend;) a really unusual hand-made corkscrew spinner in red and deep orange to hang by the studio window; and a butterfly windsock that's gorgeous.... I love the choices and colors in this place! And they really know their kite stuff -- full of ideas and help for the novice (me) and more experienced kite flying folk (husband.) A good kite will set you back anywhere from $20 - 40, though I suspect you can get a few for less (or more,) and they come with string -- and they attach a spinner so your string won't get tangled.... My son and I stopped in--owners were so friendly and welcoming. We were searching for a toy for our 1 1/2 year old daughter. Out 3 year old son found a cool Wonder Wand. I was hoping to get one for each kid so there would be no fighting. When I asked if there were any more, the owner told us it was the last one and gifted it to us! So kind, generous and over the top. We found a small wind up dinosaur for our son, and the Wonder Wand for our daughter. We will definitely be back! They also have 10% off for returning customers. Amazing, local business! read more

My family and I just recently visited Lincoln City. We walked around and went to all of the little shops. And we went to Winddriven for the first time. We loved it! It's such a cute store. The atmosphere is great. The prices are also great. The lady who was working when we went there was super nice. She talked to us and was really friendly. She gave us some stuff for free. I bought some Ink-a-doo tattoo pens when I was there. I would definately come back to this store next time I visit Lincoln City. read more

Good selection and fantastic service. The staff took the time to explain the different kinds of kites to us and made recommendations for what might be suitable for our group of adults and teens. We bought one "foil" which we never would have chosen on our own, and flying it turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip. We didn't do as well with a fancier kite but staff at the store gave us absolutely no trouble with exchanging it for a simpler box kite. My husband and I came into this store looking for replacement kite string after the kite string we had became a horrible mess of a knot. We looked originally on Amazon and thought that was the best deal we'd get ($55 for replacement string). We decided to stop into Winddriven and just do a quick price comparison. We were quickly greeted and received great customer service. My husband told the gentleman about his kite and he went off to find us the correct string, which was only $20! Beyond the great service we received this store was full of fun, nostalgic toys that brought us both back to our childhood. DIFFERENCE BETWEEN MEN AND BOYS....IS HOW MANY THEY CAN BUY! The folks here were great. And that is not saying nearly enough. We stopped in so my wife could get me a kite. Yes. I like kites, and she insisted we stop. GLAD we did. We got a little education on various kites from the owner. We didnt get pressure sold to buy the most expensive things. They recommended what they thought we would have the most FUN with. THAT is how you do it folks. They sold us 3 kites, my daughter got one we had in the air for almost 35 minutes straight, she had a blast! And she didnt even want one! My son got a little more kite, a delta style, which could handle a bit more wind. He flew it for almost an hour, we had to bring it in because we now knew how to identify when it WAS too much. Which is funny because they offered to guarantee them ALL. Now. My kite. BEST $36 ive spent in ages! No lie. I got a great parafoil style kite. Which uses straps to control it. The ladies there gave me a tutorial on how to use it. How to keep it in good shape, and how to prevent from killing it. And all the advice worked. I flew for 40 minutes straight. My first time with a kite of this type and i didnt want to stop. EVEN the wife flew it for a while and had loads of fun! We were both LITERALLY laughing out loud. It was that fun. Stop in here. Grab a kite. Say hi. You will have a smile in NO time. We will come back in just to say hi and thank you. No lie. read more
