We were in Susanville visiting our daughter and she signed us up for this art class. I've never…read morebeen to one of these classes before and didn't know what to expect. It was a wonderful experience. You walk in and everything is set up for you. Just find a spot to sit down all your supplies are there waiting for you. They also serve different types of red and white wines. They also had a great assortment of hor d'oeuvres, meats, cheeses and fresh fruits. The class itself was pretty loose. Not strict art instruction here, which was really nice because we were all beginners. Everybody there had a GREAT time. I would definitely recommend this type of venue for anyone. It was easy, fun and a great way to meet people in your community.

Exhibitions change almost every month, featuring different artists, with a schedule on their website. Opening receptions are held the first Friday of every month from 5-7pm. After a visit to the courthouse, I spied this gallery across the street and sauntered in. Beautiful original paintings in oil and watercolor, many of Plumas County's natural beauty. Giclée prints at a lower price point are another option. I purchased a beautiful watercolor print by local artist Sylvia Smith of a fisherman in one of the wild rivers of the region, surrounded by deep forest. The people working in the gallery were uniformly helpful and friendly, making for a pleasant browsing and buying experience. The gallery is located in an historic building, formerly the circa 1873 Capitol Saloon building, purchased and renovated in 2011 thanks to work by the local community. Definitely a worthwhile stop for art lovers in the Quincy area.

The atmosphere is cool as it's kind of like an industrial storefront in the Dickerson road arts district. Lots of cool arts stuff outside. I was driving by and I was like, yes, this must be the gallery. I visited the group art show to check it out and it all looked great. Didn't make the opening as I'm shy, sober and socially awkward but heard it went well. I hear Reno Art Works has art classes in the space which seems pretty awesome too. What a great community arts resource!

The gallery changes and is currently set up with dog and cat pieces to benefit and raise awareness for the SPCA. They host various events like bands and my personal favorite a public "Stich N' B!tch". Here's my story. i visit my local Goodwill Thrift Store most Tuesdays for the senior discount. I…read morenoticed this gentleman looking at this fine piece of pottery located on the end cap with other fine looking items. I had to wait a minute, walk down another isle to pretend i wasn't interested, until he put it back on the shelf. I quickly retrieved it before anyone else could. It was flawless! I don't think it has ever been filled. I'll remedy that. I did a web search for this item and the artist. Could not find it anywhere. So I called the artist, Joe Winter, and left a message inquiring about it's history. To my surprise he called back that evening and left a message with the history of this Ritchey Growler. It seems in 2012 the COO of Ritchey commissioned approximately 10 of these for the employees of Ritchey Bicycle. I called Joe back the next day and he was happy to chat for a while about the growler and it's history. He's a very friendly guy. I plan to visit his studio the next time i'm in the area. He also mentioned he has made growlers for some of the local breweries in the Reno/Sparks. Time for me to start a collection! And that's my story........I'm sticking with it. Thanks Joe!
