Review of wind city books in Casper Wyoming Beautiful bookstore. I was walking to a different place for coffee when the elegant sign and the window display stopped me and drew me in. I was perusing the aisles of sweet delicious books before even realizing I had walked in. So keep your wits about you on account of the ambient fae magic. The variety of books was surprisingly broad. And I managed to find a few new books to add to my reading list in my favorite genre. Everything is clean and orderly and abundant. The coffee was delicious, as were the friendly attitudes of the baristas. I just stopped in Casper for coffee to drink on my way to Missoula. Next time I drive down this highway I'll stop here again. read more

Wind City Books is a quaint little book store located in downtown Casper. The bookstore has a cute atmosphere and the staff is friendly and eager to assist. While the selection at Wind City Books is considerable it is not as vast as say the corporate book chains out there. That is ok though. Some of the more notable sections that the bookstore had going for it was the history section, specifically Wyoming history and the children's book section. Apparently Wind City books implies that Casper is windy but I never really noticed it. I have been in far windier towns in Wyoming... that is for sure. If it isn't a gust then it a breeze. Nice, clean bookstore right in the heart of downtown that specializes in new books. They carry all the new poplar books, have a large Wyoming book section as well as a large children's book section. Staff is knowledgeable on their inventory and books in general. Owner ran businesses are always the best. These guys will help order you any book they do not have in stock. read more

When I am at lost for what to get the teenagers, adults or children in my life, I can always find unusual and interesting books. Large selection of unusual stories or the classics. Also a large selection of Wyoming authors and history. Excellent service with knowledgable staff. read more

It's a bookstore. It's a coffee shop. It's a reason to stop in Casper, Wyoming (not that you didn't have dozens alreadys). Their joe will put hair on your chest and is best sipped while browsing their nice selection of books. I used to think Casper was just a friendly ghost, now I understand it's a rad place in eastern/central Wyoming to fuel up on java and paperbacks. And I like it! read more

Decent selection of books for this small local-minded bookstore. The staff is very friendly and willing to help you find books that peak your interests. Looking for a place to sit down and study, I found adequate tables and even a couple recliners if one needs to really settle in. The coffee is great and the hours are more consistent than other coffee joints in town. This is a nice quaint locally-owned bookstore in the heart of downtown Casper. I am mostly digital now, which I know, is killing the charm of books, but so be it. A nice, quaint & quiet local bookstore. It offers espresso, teas, coffee & Italian sodas. They also have some fun book & reading accessories. A few cushioned chairs as well as a couple of small tables with chairs offer seating to stay and read. I would visit this bookstore again. read more

In the meantime, we were approached by an employee/owner and made to feel unwelcome and as though we were imposing.
