Grateful that I found out in our initial consultation that his expectation is to dominate the conversation, interrupt continuously and be condescending. He would not allow me to finish explaining what my scenario is and ultimately hung up on me and left me a snippy text with of course, the requisite passive-aggressive "Don't bother. I will not be doing any work for you and have a nice day." This guy has his own little kingdom. More and more of us are discovering we don't need to serve. read more

Wilson Electric was fabulous! My garbage disposal stopped working, and the plumber who had installed it told me it was "the switch." Many calls later, I finally found Wilson Electric, thank goodness! Matt Wilson is the best! He saved out butts with a last minute electrical repair in 2016. Now in 2019, I called with a burnt out light in the kitchen. He evaluated my lighting issue on the phone and recommended a solution. We set an apppointment and he replaced all of my out of date florescent light cans in the kitchen and replaced them with LED lights. Quick, reasonable, showed up time and finished on time. He estimated the time it would take to do the job and came in right on schedule. He was thorough, efficient and no nonsense! It is really difficult to get an electrician out to a residence to do a "small job", but Matt treats his customers like they are important, no matter the size of the job! read more

This electrician is not reliable. We called him because of a couple of positive reviews on another social media platform. We made an appointment for him to troubleshoot a lighting system the next day. We rearranged our schedule and waited for him. He never showed up and never called to cancel the appointment or explain what had happened. He's very unprofessional. Unless, you feel like waiting around on the off chance he might show up for an appointment, I'd call another electrician. read more

I found Matt's name on NextDoor, and saw that he had great Yelp! reviews. Matt responded promptly to my message (I think I emailed and left him a voicemail) and was able to come out the next day. That was important, because my refrigerator was cycling on and off power (mostly off!) Matt quickly diagnosed the problem as being a worn-out breaker. (The breaker switch didn't flip because the breaker wasn't working.) He replaced it and got it working in short order, and then suggested that the next time one goes out, whether I call him or someone else, I have them all replaced, to save myself multiple service calls. I asked him if he could just go ahead and replace them all, and we made an appointment for a few days later. He replaced all of the breakers, plus a couple of electrical outlets that no longer gripped the plugs. Best of all, he billed is as only one service call, plus parts. So if you need an electrician, I highly recommend Matt. He is an electrical contractor who is fully bonded and licensed. read more

Are you kidding me! Matt comes over on a Saturday and changes my ballast and light in my kitchen for less then what I expected, and he does it in between doing wash loads... He was quick, polite and funny! He is "Old School" and fair.... He did the job in less then a half an hour so he only charged me for a half an hours work... Other electricians on yelp offered to do the same job for $550... I didn't think they made honest people like Matt Wilson these days! I will definitely call him again for any of my electrical jobs... I called him on the advice of Berkeley Parent's Network. On the first call, he did nothing but give me a snotty attitude so I thought, "Well, maybe he's having a bad day." I booked him anyway. What a mistake! The next day when he was supposed to show up, no one came. I called and asked what the issue was and he said he din't have my phone number so couldn't call me to be let into the building. And when I asked if he had a call log to see what my number was, it was all nasty attitude all over again saying he didn't even write it down and how could I even think that he would know what my number was when he gets so many calls every day. It's not hard to determine a number when you know that you spoke to someone from an inbound call at around a specific time. And then he proceeded to tell me that coming out to the service call was a "waste of time. You wasted an hour my time." At that point, I let him know how unprofessional he was and hung up. Completely unprofessional, completely not to be counted on. Don't put yourself through it. read more

Rude. He's upset at me for requesting a quote via the "get a quote" option on the Yelp app... Based on his advertisement!! Not sure how/why a business owner would behave this way. Most people want business and create relationships for future jobs... But not here. He emailed me a month later to continue to gripe. From the other reviews, there seems to be a pattern here. I have never experienced such rudeness and unprofessionalism. He came into my unit, wouldn't communicate nor explain things to me. He had his own agenda and would not allow me to give him a tour and explain what I needed done. He was short with me, impatient and raised his voice to me. I told him that was unacceptable. He left the job!!! I've let all my real estate friends know to never use them!!! I had to scramble today to line up another electrician and one of my real estate friends has set up one of hers. Thank goodness. Moving is so stressful as it is, you need to be working with people who are respectful, patient and VERY flexible. read more

I was shocked to have your electrician show up wearing a political hat. During these times I don't see that as a benefit. I was offended. I can't wear political items to work I'm not sure why you allow your electricians to do so. You are going to offend half the population. WARNING: THE EMPLOYEES OF WILSON ELECTRIC ARE EITHER THIEVES OR GROSSLY NEGLIGENT Either these guys stole thousands of dollars worth of my personal belongings from my garage, or they negligently left my garage door unlocked without my knowledge or permission for over ten days (in Richmond, California) while they were doing work and a thief came in from the outside and spent considerable time carefully picking through my stuff. The work was not done on time (and is still ongoing as I write this) and I have been having electrical issues which started when they were working and they deny it was their doing and instead say it's 'the wind' causing the problem and apparently are refusing to address or fix it. My hope is whatever they did wrong will be discovered and fixed as they complete the job. Additionally, they ignored repeated requests that they call or text ahead of time to let me know when they would be coming by, even if it was only to give me 10 minutes warning while they were en route so I could be prepared. This has been a horrible experience through and through. It sounds like these guys are stretched way too thin and it really shows. Even without the theft of my belongings, I would have not been able to give them more than two stars. read more

These guys are AWESOME!! All the power blew in my house. Matt, the owner, tried to talk me through resetting my main breaker, but after twenty minutes he decided it was best to send someone out. He tried to save me a service call. Josh showed up got the main breaker to reset then he checked my inside panel.He took it apart, vacuumed it out (there was a lot of dust and insulation in it) then he tested all of the individual breakers. He found one that kept tripping and was causing the main breaker to trip. My panel was not labeled well at all. He figured out that the stove top (I have a separate oven) was causing the problem. Josh figured out that the short which was causing everything to trip was in the stove top, not the wires between the box for the stove top and the panel. He disconnect the stove top so it could not start a fire. He recommended that I start thinking about replacing my inside panel, especially because it is so old, and a bit of a "rats nest" of wires. The outside panel could stand to be replace too. These guys are awesome and very trustworthy! I highly recommend them. read more

Awesome company! My circuit breaker tripped and wouldn't reset. I thought I was going to have to have someone come out because I'm not too comfortable working with electrical panels. I called Matt and instead of telling me he needs to inspect it and charge X amount, he asked me a few questions and walked me through some trouble shooting. It turns out I had a bad surge protector plugged in and it prevented the breaker from resetting. Matt seems really knowledgeable and extremely helpful.
