I stopped and walked back and there was my hub cap on the roadway with both lug nuts broken off. I also noted that 5 of the 8 lug nuts were gone and broken off. I contacted Bauer Built Tire and they sent a mechanic out to me. He showed me where the holes for the lugs were rounded and the hub itself was damaged. Bauer Built emailed me an invoice for the work that needed to be done. I contacted the manager, Justin. After a number of future attempts to contact him, I finally talked to him today(5/5) to discuss the work. His first offer was a 50/50 split of the bill. I told him that was completely unacceptable, and that I might be happy with a 75/25 split. Justin informed me he would speak to corporate again and try for an 80/20 split, but on further thought, why should I be responsible at all for any of the repairs if this company stands behind there policy of complete customer satisfaction. If I am not satisfied with their reply, then I will be forced to reach out to the BBB, and the State Attorney General's office for some help resolving this matter.
