Ten years ago I visited the Willows (a Salmon senior living community), in Worcester, with my then…read more83-year old Mom, and was impressed with what they had to offer. At that time, my Mom wasn't ready to move. This past October, my Mom needed to be placed into a nursing home. I chose Beaumont in Natick, due to high ratings and the proximity to where I live. My Mom passed away last Tuesday. In all candor, this last 9 months was very frustrating. The facility is understaffed and the staff is completely overworked. I visited almost daily. If I hadn't, honestly, I feel that my Mom would have been very neglected. When I went to her dead body, and to call the funeral home, the staff was completely cold and detached and I received no direction whatsoever. What happened to once well-run facilities? We paid $14,000 a month, out of pocket. I'd welcome a longer conversation with the Salmon brothers. I wrote to them several months ago and received no response.
