My daughter rides consistently and the prices are so affordable that I don't mind. She is being taught everything from grooming and tacking and riding to cleaning up, personal responsibility, safety, and riding etiquette. Every lesson is different. There are different types available for riders of different skill level, type, age, and approach. The stable owner and trainer is hands on, patient, funny and so respectful. I am just never anything but impressed with her and the team of workers and volunteers that help her out (including Husband Dean). We had our first birthday party there this year and it put things just up and over the top. I had to do a review. I cannot recommend this place any higher. Its a home away from home. 5 stars and beyond.

Animal neglect and abuse on this property. Horses have went without proper feed and water. Three…read moresheep have died due to neglect. I had been there when she opened doors and hoped stuff had changed since I left but sadly it hasn't based on what others who have boarded here have stated. There is a lot of turn over at this place for a reason. A lot more will be coming out about this place. Attached is a post full of photos and other information. The positive reviews you see here are all from family and friends who have never kept a horse at the place before. They're not actually horse people. I had not left reviews anymore because Shyanne often bragged about how Keefe would attempt to sue people who he felt wrong him and I was really worried about that. But now...knowing that years later this is STILL going on, the protection of animals is what's most important. . https://www.facebook.com/share/r/1M71wkvFdy/?mibextid=wwXIfr

DO NOT BOARD HERE! I boarded my horse here back in 2021 for a few months. Moving her out of this…read moresituation as the best thing I did for her. The property initially seemed nice and peaceful, if a little rough around the edges. The owners seemed welcoming. After being there for a little while though, the cracks started to show. My tack would frequently get pooped on my the owner's free range chickens and nothing was done to prevent that from happening by the owner. There was an area inside the barn where some cows (or one cow, I am unsure) had been kept before I was a boarder. This area of the barn was covered in LAYERS of cow feces that had hardened like concrete. Another boarder and I spent HOURS scraping the feces off of the floor as a favor to the barn owner. Stalls were left dirty and chronically under-bedded. Water buckets were filthy and were not cleaned or fully filled unless the horse's owner (me or other boarders) cleaned and filled them. The same is true of the water tanks in the pastures. The horses were put out on pasture which was very poor quality and obviously not enough to meet their nutritional needs and were fed too little supplemental hay. My horse was supposed to receive grain (which I provided) but was frequently not given the grain. When I confronted the barn owner about this, she lied and said she was feeding my mare even though I know for certain she was not. The owners would take frequent vacations and would not properly train people who were supposed to care for the horses and other animals while they were gone. I once provided care during one of their trips and they threatened to CHARGE me extra for "overfeeding" the animals even though they never told me how much to feed them. For the record, I was feeding them an appropriate amount for each animal instead of underfeeding them like they did. There was never any set time that the horses would be turned out or brought in or fed. It was whenever the owner decided to get out of bed (usually after 8:30 or 9am) or when a boarder showed up and put everyone's horses out. The worst part and the final straw though, was that while I a boarder, two sheep (lambs really) died of neglect. They were kept inside with no fresh air, no daylight, too little food and almost no water in a filthy stall. The body of the first sheep to die was left in the stall with the sheep that was still alive for at least 2 days. It was then removed from the stall and left to lay in front of the stall for another 2-3 days. Then it was unceremoniously thrown on the manure pile so anyone in the vicinity (sensitive, living prey animals like horses included) could smell and see it decompose. A few chickens died while I was there too and their bodies were left where they dropped so the other chickens could eat them. I wish I would have spoken up sooner about all of this. I did not because this was my first boarding experience and I was naive. I sort of thought maybe these things were somewhat normal on small farms. I was also concerned about retaliation. The horse world is small and my number one job is to protect my horse. I have learned much more about boarding and small farms and I know now that none of this was normal. I am speaking up so no one else ends up putting their horse in a miserable situation. From what I have heard, things have only gotten worse at Brookside
