High prices, and he is selling his product without duty labels. Not sure what his scam is, but I would not visit again

We went into the humidor and the clerk hovered over us and advised we couldn't touch or smell the cigars. They are all sealed in plastic! I'm certainly not going to buy a cigar that is rock hard, you have to feel them. And we certainly aren't going to try and steal them and shove them down our shirts while he's standing right there! Good Grief! We actually did pick some cigars that we had purchased in the past and liked. They cost over $500. I paid with my credit card. The clerk bagged up the cigars, handed them over to me without looking in my direction. As we walked out the door he said "Thank You Sir". ...Okay, that's just down right rude! I turned and replied, "Perhaps you should thank the person who paid!". We won't be back. There are plenty of other cigar shops in Calgary where you can get friendly service and not be treated as if you are going to steal something.

I have no real cigars knowledge and Joseph's recommends were perfect. I got so many "girlfriend brownie points" for the cigars and the presentation was immaculate. I wanted to give my boyfriend a special gift that didn't included cupcakes for valentines and Joseph definitely helped me nail it. They hand delivered this glorious selection and my boyfriend couldn't wait to light one up. Smoked perfectly. Amazing customer service. I'm over the moon with the whole experience and cannot wait for another occasion to shop again. Trustworthy, quality, and reliable.

Southland Cigar & Dry Cleaning - Tucked away in the corner of the Southland Crossing Shopping Centre it's not obvious this Canada Post Office is here

I won't be commenting on the standalone business itself as I didn't really browse their offerings (maybe next time). Instead I will comment on the Post Office itself. This location has all the usual necessities: stamps, boxes, money orders, forms, guides and passport apps. So really no complaints, it's a functional post office with shipping services and yup they take debit and credit. Despite me saying I didn't browse the store, I did note that they did have some greeting cards which is a smart idea. Both times I've been there it didn't take long to get service despite the store employee managing both the store and post office registers. He was friendly and professional both times. So if you're in this neck of the woods it's good to know that there is a secret post office hidden in the Southland Crossing Shopping Centre, may save you from making a trip to a further post office (this is the plaza with the Safeway FYI). My biggest knock against this location is that the signage is awful! Honestly the only reason I know about it is because I had a parcel sent here when I wasn't at home to pick it up. That's about it for this one, cheers!

Dont bother with this one as far as I could see it was in a corner of a convenience store that sold…read moremainly cigarettes, no humidor to be seen!

Adam provides such a great customer experience which really makes his shop stand out above any…read moreother shop I've been to. Most places you'll be greeted when you walk in and the owner will wait for you to bring what you want to the till. If you ask any questions they either say something vague or they will just say they don't know as they most likely know nothing about cigar culture. Also there's a good chance its way too dry and breaks apart when you try to cut it. On the other hand, Adam of Cheap Smokes & Cigars West has tested and tried every single type of cigar his shop carries at least twice, and of the hundreds upon hundreds of cigars held in either of his 2 walk-in humidors he can paint you an extremely vivid, detailed and accurate picture of what each cigars experience will be like. Everything from how it hits the palette, if there's any transition between the 1st 2nd or final third of the stogie, how the draw is, what kind of cut goes best with it, how smooth it is vs how spicy vs how creamy vs how leathery vs how dry vs how strong it is, or how bold it is, how fast it burns, how you should draw it, and what each and every one would pair well with (i.e whisky, steak, wine, chicken, fruit, scotch, coffee etc) and if its a summer stogie or one better enjoyed during the autumn, no joke. He is a true and complete cigar connoisseur, but if you are are beginner or don' know that much about cigars, then he is very nice and accommodating about it and will ask you a couple questions and then will be able to recommend to you a nice selection of 5-10 that you will 100% enjoy based off your answers. Additionally if you prefer to take your time and look for yourself he is very respectful of that and lets you take as much time as you need in the humidors and doesn't make you feel rushed in any way. All this to say this is by far the best cigar shop in the city and all credit for that goes to Adam and there's no other place that compares and you are really missing out if you go anywhere else for your cigars and/or any other tobacco/nicotine related products. Go meet Adam sometime and see for yourself. 5 Stars would give 10 if I could.
