He told me his sister was married to an illegal Colombian and although he had been here for several years he was unexpectedly deported. I just said "oh when did this happen" and he said 3 days ago. I responded by saying Trump isn't in office and he said it didn't matter he was the one responsible for having his brother in law deported & Trump has "connections". I said nothing but he kept ranting about how terrible Trump was and wouldn't let up. I left. Management needs to tell their staff to avoid political discussions.

There was no garbage pail outside so when we went in we saw a garbage pail, which he went to use, only to be yelled at by a rude woman working there who was yelling at him not to use the garbage pail! Would she rather we throw the trash in the parking lot?! He was doing the right thing! My husband asked her not to yell at our son since he was trying to throw out trash properly. The woman worker must have complained that we stuck up for our son and the manager came and yelled at us and with some back and forth banter, he asked us all to leave!! Are they serious? What did we do wrong?! I guess shame on them and too bad for them! We will take our plentiful business elsewhere! We have never witnessed such rude business ethic in our lives! We won't EVER be going there again! We hope they have the day they deserve!

I after I selected item I went to cashier and again was warmly greeted by Taylor and he inquired if there was anything else I needed and if I was satisfied. One might ask what's the big deal but in this day and age it is rare to have a person in a store treat a customer the way he did and because of that I will go out of may way to frequent the store. Great job Taylor also great job Lukes for hiring him. I know how difficult it is to find quality employees on the Cape. BTW prices and selections at this Lukes can't be beaten

The Village Store (which has had several names over the years) has always been in that weird niche…read morebetween the bait-and-six-pack stores that used to line 6A and the proper Village Stores, like Peterson's in Yarmouth Port or the Dennis Public Market or Player's (now Tedeschi's) in East Dennis. It's not as big as a convenience but bigger than a "spa" (for you Bostonians), they have sandwiches to order that are decent but utterly standard, it's largely run on beer, wine, and lottery tickets but they have sundries as well. For many years we used to walk across the marsh trail to get the papers, until they started offering delivery of the "out of town" papers, and the YVS had to recommend it that it was open early (a hangover, no pun intended, from the six-pack-and-bait days). It's not quite the funky Village hangout of yore but it's a perfectly decent pitstop on 6A and it's better for your karma than some chain store. And they actually have a decent selection of wines for a small package store. Seriously, if you are a visitor, you should stop in at *every* one of the village stores along 6A and see if you can still leach off a little old Cape color. You may eventually get it collectively. I still miss the joint down in Sesuit Harbor where you could get bait and coffee at 4 AM with a home-made sandwich wrapped in saran wrap and you could get "extra" for your joe (a shot of booze added to your thermos), but these places are as long dead as their proprietors so your best shot is to linger at the village store and see who turns up. FWIW: the dogs passed of natural causes, so that's the reason they're not there anymore (then the subsequent change of ownership). Just to set the record straight.
