Why, do you ask, are you yelping a fire department, when you don't even live, or work in the town…read more Lemme tell you. I work for a moving company. We have over 35 drivers who have trucks all over the country. And for the past nine years, the drivers donate money annually towards a local non profit during the Holiday Season. Even during these difficult economic times, they dig deep into their pockets because they know that there are those that are less fortunate. They also know that the owner of our company, matches their donation. So for the past two years, we've been able to "gift" the Suisun City Fire Department with a 4 figure gift. We then get a shopping list from Joyce and the wonder folks at Code Three Fire & Safety in Suisun who coordinate the whole deal. The very best part? Following the brigade of firetrucks manned by those awesome firemen and the Big United Van Lines Truck and going out to Travis AFB to hand out gifts. I can honestly say that this is one of the most rewarding days of my life. To see the tears of joy and appreciation on the faces of the children and families as they see their wishes granted is something that everyone should get a chance to experience. I know alot of people aren't aware of the number of military families who live below the poverty level and are doing the best they can to make ends meet. So, hats off to the men and women of Suisun City Fire Department, the Fire Cadets/Volunteers, the great folks at Code Three Fire & Safety in Suisun, the Drivers at Chipman Relocation's and all the other businesses who get together and make this all possible.

Thank you for your service!!…read more These firefighters were absolutely kind and caring. We called ahead and they allowed us to stop by. When we got there, they gave us a tour of the fire engine and parts of the surrounding fire station. Their time is important, so we appreciated all the time we got with them! And, they did this all before their dinner, so we are so gracious for their time and kindness. We are so glad we brought them a treat! We will definitely be back to bring by more treats. Again, thank you for your service!

Situations like this one always attract lookie-loos and passersby. But all the fire and medical personnel onsite today were professional and worked as a team. I watched as they voiced ideas on how best to get my neighbor safely transported. Not one tried to outshine another or be the star in any way. They worked as a great team. Their vehicles did not block driveways or traffic. My hat is off to these professionals, how they work and their consideration for not only their intended transport but for the surrounding homes. My utmost respect to the fire fighters and EMTs for the job they do.

In 2002 "Romo Studio's" unveiled two life-size panels paying tribute to those who protect and serve the City of Sacramento. Residence can come Monday - Friday between the hours of (8 am - 6 pm) to ask questions or to take care of a number of different police issues such as /filing a police report/ sign off a ticket / tow vehicle release/ turn in property/ dispose of unwanted prescription drugs. The classrooms within the buildings are generally used by staff members of both the police & fire departments to educate and train members of the community in case of any type of disaster. (CERT) "Community Emergency Response" Team" is a group of citizens whom spent many hours training with Sacramento Fire Department learning the basics in fire suppression, search & rescue, and first aid. My wife and I had the privilege of attending a special screening in one of the classroom. The documentary was sponsored by our local chapter " My Sister's House" . A non - profit organization serving domestic violence victims. As always thanks for reading ! Live / Love / Travel !

Two of our group went for help and after a call to 911 the first to show up was a volunteer from the Capay Valley Fire District. The three story Fratt Building was built by Francis William Fratt in 1870 as an commercial &…read moreresidential building. In it's early years , retail shops as well as an drug store occupied the ground floor. The two upper floors were private offices & apartments. Mr. Fratt actually lived here himself on the upper floor until 1909. Francis William Fratt arrived in California in 1850 from New York. He made a large portion of his wealth in the cattle business. He also had large interest in many properties in Old Sacramento some being " The Union Hotel/ The Orleans Hotel / Bank Exchange Building "to name a few. An arson fire destoyed the Fratt Building in 1969. It wasn't rebuilt until 1985. This was one of the few buildings to retain most of the original architectural details and was one of the last structures to be built in Old Sacramento. Many businesses have come and gone throughout the years. I recall a Carl's Jr. Restaurant here a few years back and recently 2 Grand Saloon. This classy building is currently vacant . Who knows what the future may bring. Thanks for Reading ! Live/Love/Travel !!!
