They need to fire Rasheeda and Galina. have trauma to get over from being in their care. I was recovering from being paralyzed and not really mobile. I required a hoyer to get out of bed and was suffering from incontinence. Rasheeda would neglect me day after day. She'd leave me needing a diaper change for hours and would often make me late for therapy. She would complain about my needs for help and the fact that I couldn't get myself out of bed. She'd shame me for being incontinent and tell me I created too much work for her. My therapists would beg her for hours to get me out of bed in the morning. But I often didn't get help from her until after lunch. I was in tears at least once a day from the stress of her negligence. She also kept insisting on putting my hoyer sling on backwards. I'd tell her repeatedly that was dangerous and I could fall. She'd get an attitude with me. Finally another aid saw what she was doing and set her straight. Galina would not properly monitor my pain medication. This often resulted in her not ordering enough. I spent quite a few nights in excruciating pain because of this. When I tried to talk to her about it, she would laugh at me. I had a horrible experience at accelerate because of them. Don't put anyone you care about there. read more

This place needs to get their shit together. My mom was leaning on the fence, barely even tapped it. She fell through the fence. I am not sure if it is noticeable in the picture but the whole fence is curved and very unstable. She is now in the hospital, broken T3 in her spine and broken foot. PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE! read more

My mom was there for rehab after a slip out of bed. The facility is nice. Pros: The room was nice and I could visit her whenever I wanted. The care givers were very attentive to her needs. The physical therapy was good and gave lots of suggestions on how to improve her mobility at home. I went over at least once a day to make sure she had the opportunity together extra walking practice. Cons: The food wasn't the best and sometimes there was a weekend staff shortage. read more

If you want to go here, you need to be brave. My dear husband had a terrible experience here. He almost died 3 times and we can finally move to another place. Please take care of yourself. P.S. While my husband was receiving excellent care in the ICU at Abington Hospital, I went to retrieve his belongings. A woman named "Director" flew in and threatened to call the police if I moved my husband's belongings. I said, "okay, Call them now." She called the police. They have a very smart director there. There are a few decent and caring staff members but the overall experience was horrendous. Just a few examples of their complete incompetence: giving my dad whole pills that were not crushed (he's on a pureed diet), this happened 3 times which could have been fatal; moving the nurse call button so it was out of his reach if he needed it in an emergency; taking in excess of 20 minutes to answer the nurse call button in urgent situations; giving him the wrong food tray which did not have pureed food, then trying to cover up the mistake; a nasty overnight staff that among other things refused to get him ice water and were borderline abusive; an admin staff that ignored phone calls; turning off the heat in his room overnight. I could go on and on but my only advice would be to stay very clear of this so called rehab center. Not sure how they have a license to operate. read more

The staff was unbelievably rude. The level of care that was received was well below Any person should receive. The place was extremely dirty and had to have my father go with Clorox wipes and clean the room. My mother was there for a little over a week as I had to find a new place to have her transferred to as soon as possible please consider anywhere else And do your research. I can't believe anybody would give any positive reviews to this place and I also forgot when you walk in the place smelled like urine , I had to go home and get a shower and wash my clothes because the smell was that bad. read more

This place is the bottom of all rehabs. The care here is horrific. The negligence is terrible patient sitting around in their own feces for hours critical medicines not delivered. Do not come here if your life depends on it. Go elsewhere the staff is nasty. read more

I would not recommend this facility. My Mother was a patient twice - the first time while she was waiting for surgery (knee replacement/fix 2 bone fractures in leg - 5 days), and the second time was to recover from the surgery (3 weeks). There was rarely anyone at the nurses station and when there was someone there, they weren't very nice. Very few staff seem to care about their job or the patients. One day, no one was available because the entire staff were having a Christmas party in the dining room. There were several occasions where they had to clean her and change bedding because she had to go to the bathroom and no one responded to the call button. Twice, she got herself up and to the bathroom even though she was supposed to wait for assistance. Fortunately, she did not fall and injure herself further. While the PT therapists were nice, I don't think they did as much for my mother that could have been done and they were not following instructions from the surgeon regarding equipment my mother should have been using. There are also major communication issues amongst staff. No one was on the same page regarding my mother's treatment plan, and the social worker and transportation person were difficult to get in touch with. They also dropped the ball on home health care referral causing a delay in the continuation of my mother's PT and OT. I was told a nurse would be out within 48 to 72 hours. When I hadn't heard from anyone 4 days after her discharge, I called the home health agency and they didn't have a referral from ProMedica. read more

If you're reading this, I'm doing you a favor. DO NOT SEND A LOVED ONE TO THIS PLACE!! For any reason. My mother had to go here after surgery and this is just a small portion of the issues we ran into here. When we arrived, her room was not cleaned, had a dirty pillow on the bed, the bed did not raise or lower, and her nurse call button was broken. Her bathroom had urine in the toilet and the floor was disgusting. On top of that, my mother had been admitted and still not even seen by a nurse for over three hours, missed her pain medication for more than two courses, was in agony and no one was helping her. If you call the number 484-873-3700, I guarantee no one will answer. Why? because no one works the desk. I will be contacting the Department of Health and Human Services and the State Health Department, this place needs to be shut down. Yes, it is that bad. read more

As a home health nurse, I am passing on comments by my numerous patients who have gone to this facility, both when it was Powerback and Accelerate. They have cited the facility being short staffed from all aspects: aides, nurses and therapist. As a nurse, I know the difficulty in trying to provide care when you are short staffed, but these complaints continue, long after other facilities have addressed the same shortages and have better patient outcomes and satisfaction. As a home health nurse, I often have to contact Accelerate Exton for clarification of medication orders, missing paperwork and although there appears to be physician and nurse practitioner/Physician assistant coverage, return phone calls are rarely/never received leaving the patient and family without direction until they can get into see their primary care physicians or sub-specialist like cardiology, Pulmonology , GI, etc. Often this facility is the only one with open beds as the hospitals are trying to discharge and the smaller facilities cannot anticipate when they would have an appropriate opening. As a family or patient, please consider the above before making your choice and if Accelerate is reviewing these comments... please do better by your clients! read more

Absolute horror show! The worst facility I have ever encountered in all the years I have been in health services. The staff is arrogant, uncaring, uncooperative and dismissive towards the patient and family members. They do not return phone calls regarding patient's care and they get extremely upset when you ask questions. This is the LAST place in Montgomery County that I would have someone go to. I generally find it much more rewarding and satisfying to post a negative reeview of a business mainly because of the way they either treated me or just a really bad experience. But, sometimes, a positive experience is just as important and I believe sharing that experience on Yelp is a rarity for me. But, I have to admit, the Powerback Rehabiliation Facility in Hatboro, Pa is one of the better facilities across the Delaware Valley area. And take it from me, this is not a one time evaluation of my expereiences. I am on my 3rd stay, over the past 2 years and Powerback has not let me down. I find the nursing staff to be professional, knowledgeable and very caring. They're on top of all my medications, wound care instructions and maintain a close communication with my medical doctors. The Physician at Powerback speaks with me at least once or twice a week and keeps me posted on lab results and never ever changes any of my medications or treatment plans without first speaking with me about it. I can't tell you the bad experiences I've have endured at other Rehab Facilities where Physicians arbitrarily made medication changes without consulting with me, first. And, even more imporetant, when I press the "call" button from my room, someone generally responds within 1-2 minutes. Other Rehab facilities I've been at, I've waited, on average, 20 - 35 minutes. That, to me, is very impressive. The food at Powerback is pretty good. A lot of their meals are cooked from scratch, includinmg their soups and desserts. One complaint I had when I arrived at Powerback was the food portions were small. No problem, they immediately increased my portion size. Their menu is varied and, if you are not satisfied with a particular entree, they have salads, burgers, sandwiches available at a moment's notice. I particularly like their grilled chicken caesar salad. The chicken is fresh. The Rehab Gym is large and they have a nice assortment of exercise machines, weights, exercise bands and exercise balls. The staff is friendly, for the most part. I got to know the management team and they are all so friendly and nice. And, if I have any issues with anyone or anybody, they are very accessable and caring. We know each other on a first name basis. And that, to me, is very rewarding. Management is very visible and I see most of them on a daily basis. Hatboro, Pa is close to an hour away from my medical doctors, who are located at Penn, in center city. And yes, there are Rehab facilities much closer to Penn, but I selected Powerback in Hatboro as a class operation who seem to really care. And believe me, not all Powerback facilities operate in the same manner. If you're looking for a Rehab facility that seems to get things done right and actually cares, I recommend Powerback, Hatboro, Pa. They don't disappoint. read more

I agree with another reviewer who said that a family member's time at PowerBack Rehabilitation in Hatboro was the most exhausting week of her life. That was my experience as well. While my family member was there, I had to clean her, change her clothes and bedding, feed her, and brush her teeth and hair. It left me wondering why she was even there and not at home, given how much I had to do for her. I mean, while I would do *anything* for her, I should not have had to do so much for her while also paying for her care - and I wish that the work that I had to do for her were the least of the problems. One time, two aides were pulling my family member up in bed and banged her head into the headboard. I heard a "cracking" sound, and my family member cried out. I then had to yell at the aides to go find a nurse to check out my family member. It could have been avoided if they had just put a pillow against the headboard. While that should not have happened to any patient, it certainly should not have happened to my family member, who had a brain biopsy only three weeks before. There is also the fact that my family member's discharge orders from Thomas Jefferson University Hospital stated that she was supposed to have her hair washed every day with baby/gentle shampoo to keep the incision clean. PowerBack did not do it - and told me that they refused do it. I bought some baby shampoo and tried twice to wash her hair while she was in bed, but I did not know what I was doing. Hygiene was not a big concern for the place, in general. One day, my family member went 24 hours without a bath, and I spent 45 minutes trying to find an aide to help, before giving up and doing as much as I could myself. My family member also had some diaper rash from not having her adult underwear changed often enough. Additionally, I did not learn until her last day there that she was receiving a laxative every day, even though she had experienced explosive diarrhea twice - once where the entire bed was soaked, including the footboard and pillow. The nurses never even had the common sense to ask the doctor on duty whether my family member still needed the laxative. Also, the dietician at PowerBack had reduced my family member's tube feeding from 12 hours per day to 8 hours. (I agreed with that decision.) However, on the second night after the order, a nurse was very insistent that my family member was supposed to receive 12 hours and would not listen to me when I told her that the order had changed. While receiving too much tube feeding is a minor problem, it left me wondering what would happen if the nurse had paid that little attention to a change in a drug prescription. Which brings me to fact that my family member was supposed to start receiving sodium bicarbonate every four hours starting on a Friday to prepare her kidneys for high-dose methotrexate chemotherapy that Monday. When she missed the first dose and was it was starting to get past the time for the second dose, I went to find her nurse, who explained to me that my family member was not supposed to start receiving her medicine until Friday, which she told me was "tomorrow." I had to point out to her that *today* was Friday, which was when she finally realized what day of the week it was and that my family member was overdue for her medication. My family member had also come from Jefferson Hospital with a bright yellow "FALL RISK" bracelet, but PowerBack took no precautions until, unsurprisingly, she fell. Only then did they add a bed alarm and mats on the floor around her bed and enter an order for her bed to be kept at the lowest height. When I filed a written complaint about it, a nurse tried to make me add to the signed statement that my family member did not hit her head when she fell. Although I did not see her hit her head, I was not sure that she did not hit her head, either, and I should not have been pressured to add something to a sworn statement. Furthermore - and I realize that this is a negligible concern compared to the above list - the food was terrible. For a place where people are trying to improve their health, there were not a lot of fruits and vegetables. Instead, it was like middle school cafeteria food. There was also not a lot of rehabilitation happening, either. For large chunks of the day, my family member was left to rot, when what she really needed was cognitive and physical stimulation. One other thing that did not happen to my family member per se, but my family member's roommate in her semi-private room spoke with a psychologist or psychiatrist. They discussed her mental health history, and my family member and I overheard everything. It was a conversation that should have happened in private, especially as the roommate was not bedridden, but PowerBack had no regard for patient-physician or patient-therapist confidentiality. To be clear, my family member was only at PowerBack for eight days, and all of the above happened. read more

The incompetence of the in-house Dr (the only Dr. patients are allowed to see) directly led to the death of my father. The only reason to stay here is if you like being overdosed on random drugs or have a death wish. Dr. T refused to treat any health conditions other than pain. She overdosed my dad on muscle relaxers & opioids. She ignored the clear signs & blood test showing an infection contracted at Powerback due to the overdose of mulscle relaxers, stating that antibiotics are dangerous...My Dad was rushed to ER a few days after he left Powerback from the infection diagnosed & ignored by the irresponsible, ignorant Dr. She overdosed him on other meds which suddenly turned my acurately oriented, competent working man into a stuttering, confused, helpless vegetable when he was healthy in every way at admission except for back injury. The food is criminally inedible, disgusting. All meals were unidentifiable dull mush. Frail people who are already injured become more frail here due to the lack of nutrition. We had to bring all food in ourselves. If we hadn't put our father here he would still be alive today. DON'T PUT ANYONE YOU LOVE AT POWERBACK, YOU WON'T GET THEM BACK IN ONE PIECE. read more

Do not use this facility. It was one problem after another. Both they and Abington Hospital missed that my mother had a broken bone and therefore had her doing inappropriate and harmful rehab. Her room became a virtual sweat lodge because her room mate was always cold. Not surprisingly, she caught a severe intestinal virus that an employee confessed was going around. While some of the employees did offer loving care, too many didn't. Also huge communication problem where the Dr would order something and no one else was made aware of it. read more

I had an approximately 4 week stay at Powerback for a broken leg. My experience was mixed. The first two weeks were HORRIBLE!! The nurses aides on the 2nd floor subacute area were very mean and inattentive. I would sit for an hour waiting to get dressed while the aides would make beds in other rooms. One nurse actually screamed at me from the hallway. In powerback's defense, I did complain to management and they moved me down stairs to the homestead suites and it was much, much better. Special thanks to the nurse manager "Pebbles" for her kindness and empathy during my last two weeks there. Also, special thanks to physical therapist "Hector" and occupational therapist, Jessica. They helped me be able to going from a wheelchair to a walker. Their expertise and motivation were exceptional. So, in summary I give powerback 3 stars (0 stars for the sub acute 2nd flr aides + 5 stars for Pebbles, Hector and Jessica). It is important to always be your own best advocate and speak up when you are not receiving the care you deserve. read more

I give it no stars if I could. Therapists are good but the nurses leave something to be desired. My relative had to wait for meds way past when needed them. They did not bring her lunch and dinner at times because they said she was not in her room. She went few time I had to call to demand she get dinner or lunch. Not something I like to hear. My stay was 5 weeks and had nothing but caring and attentive staff and nurses. I think what some other reviewers are forgetting is that it is not a hospital where the ratio of nurses to patients is very small. It's a rehab facility where nurses have a larger amount of patients. If my nurse couldn't get to me immediately, often they would send someone else. The staff here work very hard to make sure you are comfortable and needs are met. Lots of activities and the food is decent. Clean and spacious rooms and housekeeping always on point. The physical therapists are encouraging and enjoy their work and have a great gym. It was a great and safe transition for me from the hospital and I was made to feel confident now that I'm going back home. Thank you to Todd and team! read more

My father, who is at the end of his battle with cancer, stayed here for 3 nights only. The weekend staff was deplorable. They walked around with headphones on and on their cell phones CONSTANTLY. No tech or nurse was ever available to help change my dad who was left to lay around in his own feces and urine. This staff is disgusting. My dad was put on fluid restriction understandably but they literally never brought him anything to drink at all! Every time we got there his mouth was so dry he could hardly speak. The social worker, Carmen, working "helping" us was completely lazy and did nothing to help my mom who was trying to get my dad home on hospice care. She absolutely knew my mom was in my dad's room waiting to hear from her and she said she called the home number, which she did not. Carmen expected us to wait over a week, until Tuesday, November 20th at 2:20pm to make hospice care arrangements. You expect a dying man to wait over a week to be sent home and made comfortable? We did everything ourselves, called everyone ourselves, arranged everything ourselves, and finally got him home because he was not staying in that hole another day. Thank goodness for the new nurse pract. who helped us by signing him out and coming back after she had left for the day. read more

I had a stay here for 3 weeks after an illness make me extremely weak,they are way understaffed and overworked and take forever to respond after you push the button,my mother also had a 3 month rehab stay here and Everytime she pushed the button it took no less than 15 minutes for them to respond and eventually I asked my family doctor to help get an expedited release so that she could recover better.They put profit before having enough staff to meet the needs of the patients and eventually someone will die before help arrives, therefore a big lawsuit will be the only way to partially fix what's wrong, unfortunately I cannot recommend sending anyone there read more

This place was awful. The staff did not give my father the attention he needed and deserved. One evening he fell off of a faulty wheelchair and left screaming on the floor. One evening a nurse told him to urinate in diapers because she was too lazy to help him to the bathroom. (He's not incontinent.) He had a sling on his right arm/shoulder from dislocating it and could not use it. In the two weeks he was in rehab, they never brought in a doctor to look at his shoulder. Unprofessional and understaffed. Trying to use the call button to call a nurse took an hour, multiple times. They locked me in once as it was past visiting hours, and someone in the hall gave me the security code to the door so I could get in and out. Not good. We were also warned by a staff member not to leave valuables around, as they would get stolen. read more

They get one star because the client actually didn't die under their care. Couldn't get my father out of there fast enough. The discharging doctor admitted that he didn't read the chart before beginning a procedure and after he said he was preparing to discharge him in a few minutes. Nurses were rude and unprofessional. Rather than emptying a catheter bag on a more regular basis they put a diaper on him so that they did not have to empty the bag so frequently. Run, don't walk, as fast as you can away from this place. read more

My grandfather was at a different facility prior to coming to PowerBack and it did not compare. The therapy and care he received for the 3 months he was here was unmatched. He came in so deconditioned from the heart surgery he had and was able to walk out of here! He is doing wonderful now and leading a productive life. read more

This place is awful. They will soon be under investigation as per a call to the Department of Health. I will not go into detail because this is pending. Please do not take your loved one to this place. I took the reviews I read on a few sites with a grain of salt because this was the only place with a bed available. I have learned the hard way that even the harshest of reviews are absolutely true. If you read good reviews the company is either paying someone to write them, or they are written by someone who was fairly independent while they were recovering from their ailment and they were placed on the 1st floor. If your loved one is in need of more care and is placed on the second floor do everything you can to find another place for rehabilitation. They will not recover here. It took about 5 minutes for my family to realize that this place is terrible. My loved one was only there 2 nights because we transferred him elsewhere. If we hadn't who knows the condition he would be in now. Do not take the reviews on this and other websites lightly. They are true, as is this one.
