What happened? This was my poor husband I see every day. He is terribly ill and unable to move on his own.

If you want to go here, you need to be brave. My dear husband had a terrible experience here. He almost died 3 times and we can finally move to another place. Please take care of yourself. P.S. While my husband was receiving excellent care in the ICU at Abington Hospital, I went to retrieve his belongings. A woman named "Director" flew in and threatened to call the police if I moved my husband's belongings. I said, "okay, Call them now." She called the police. They have a very smart director there. I didn't realize how hard it would be to organize and carry out our stuff.

In September 2025, I suffered a stroke, brain bleed, paralysis and so on. Being only 55 years old, my mother and father stepped in to handle my care and decisions. I was unconscious for nearly two weeks, when I woke up I could not move my limbs or talk. Over the past 5 months, my journey took me to a few wonderful care facilities, ALL have played an invaluable role in helping me regain nearly all of my faculties and physicality. This post will hopefully inspire folks going on a similar journey. My true motivation for this post. Is to share my story of hope and heap praise on mostly unnamed faces that do God's work. Huntingdon Valley Skilled Nursing and Rehab...is AMAZING. I simply cannot share how hard these folks work TO MAKE MY LIFE easier. I wish I could share all of their names, but it wouldn't be fair to make such a list in case I left even one person off of it by accident The food is terrific, the camaraderie is even better. THANK YOU TO THE STAFF AND RESIDENTS for the past several months of friendship. As my stay here is not yet over, I may post again with updates to my story. PS - Over the past 5 months I have learned to walk, talk, eat, cut food, blow my nose, roll in a wheel chair, read, write, and yes......TYPE. This post took me over an hour to type, whereas it would have taken less than five minutes type not so long ago. PROGRESS NOT PERFECTION.

I think this is a good facility for people with disabilities…read more If families can take care of their loved ones instead of leaving them behind while they are using this facility, I think it is a satisfactory place. If you are going to leave them behind 100% of the time, I don't think you will be satisfied here. I suggest you pay a lot of money and find a private place. - What I like - ・The location is in a natural setting and all the hairs are bright and have a view of the outdoors. ・There are many birds and animals and you can observe natural animals from your room. ・The garden is beautiful and you can sunbathe outdoors comfortably. I also like the rehabilitation here. ・The nurses work on a schedule so I can trust them even if you need medical care. - Dislikes - ・Linens such as sheets and towels are very old and uncomfortable to use. ・Hallways are smelly. ・The number of patients seems to exceed what the people who work here can tolerate to care for them. For those reasons, the care on weekends and at night is lousy. (To counteract the problems, family members can provide care or hire a care giver on the weekends.) ・The amount of money you pay is not balanced by the care you receive.

Special shoutout to Tony on the temporary unit. Also the Physical Therapy was top notch. I went from being completely ambulatory to walking out within two weeks. Highly recommended b
